That sounds like a whole bunch of hooey; a way of explaining away why some women fall in love with any man who even looks at them cross-eyed and some men want to have sex with any woman who'll have them.

Personally, I call BS on sex addiction.... or at least its name. Drug addicts are well known for the lengths they will go to to feed their addictions; dont think ive ever heard of a sex addicts going out and raping to get their fix.

People that suffer from it were typically molested over a period of YEARS in their childhood. It becomes the child and then adults preferred mode of attention and affection. To not get sex means they are bad, unworthy, alone and unloved.
Like drug addicts, sex addicts will go to great lengths to get sex- any sort of sex that they can. If they can't get sex with their preferred gender, they will often "cross-over" and have gay sex if that is all that is available. They are particularly vulnerable to STDs and sexual assault.
Sex addicts can be either male or female and tend to have short, very physical relationships that run out of gas very quickly because the sex addict can't go to the next level. Their relationships exists purely at the physical level and stay there until one or both parties "burns out".

I wish any addict seeking recovery well.
