Very moving. If he didn't want pity, maybe he shouldn't go on stage and end the lecture with a picture of him and his soon-to-be-losing-a-dad children.
I spent a few hours today angry at an ex-friend, dwelling in the past over a friendship that has long since ended. It's ego-based, petty anger. I am ashamed to admit that it's a tape I replay in my head quite often. How much of our time, in this one life we are given, do we spend dwelling in the dirt? What a waste of precious time. Thank you (again) Randy for bringing me back to what is important.
Not a mention about food. Not a mention about how putting foreign objects into our mouths, eating and digesting it, has any effect what-so-ever on our health.
This guy probably continues to eat cooked foods and the pills the doctor/pharmaceutical establishment tell him to eat. It's amazing how such a smart person could be so blind. But hey, ignorance is bliss.
Do people really not understand anything about organic/uncooked foods? What about superfoods? Do you think a superfood is that crap they sell in starbucks? Whatever. Digg me down if you want. Say "bahhh" like the sheep you are. I will never believe that foods have nothing to do with health or getting cancer.
This guy should be eating aged garlic extract like crazy, marine phytoplankton, etc. Instead he's probably eating McDonalds, or cooked meals at home with his family, sandwiches, all non-organic of course.
The only thing I feel bad about is that this guy is so smart, and he will never hear or believe the truth, because this is America, and you have all been misled and you are hopeless. Enjoy your cancers.
it's sad and all he's dying. It sucks, and I'm glad he's trying to show people how to try and live their lives, but this wasn't very inspirational to me. The speech Steve Jobs gave at stanford is so much better and more inspirational. You guys should check it out.
That last line, how he made it for 3 people (his kids) hit me. It wasn't until then that I actually let a few tears out. thanks for sharing this. I don't care if it's been "on the front page multiple times", I've never seen it before.
It really is a shame that good pure people like him are the ones who get dealt the bad hand. Very moving lecture. I bookmarked it right away, and I will be coming back to it when I need that talk to help me achieve more as I continue my college education.
I usually post a lot of rags or funny stuff on here, but this, I must say, has been one of the much better posts on Diggs. I thank the person who posted it here or else I would have probably never seen this.
I'm so glad this is even shown at all, even if it is on Oprah, because it's something people need to hear. I'm glad I could watch the original lecture. thanks for the link.
this is so true, i live my life the exact way he describes. I work hard at work but I don't take it too seriously, I avoid stress and just work for work, never a personal thing for me. I just want to be home with my kids. I also joke and laugh alot more then the people who work around me, cause one day you can be laid off or fired the next day. Life goes on with or with out you.
I couldn't even watch a minute, after I saw the kids i turned it off. I have a five year old boy,and I've changed i could watch that before.I'm just guessing because i don't know, but i do know the human spirit is capable of doing just about anything. So my guess is if i were in that position i would know exactly what to do and how to handle it. Not perfect but perfectly for my son and I.
Man, that was even better watching it again, had me by the balls, teared up there at the end. Great speech, really gives me something to think about when I'm in 'dire straights'. Good post!
