- sterntastic223, on 05/23/2008, -2/+52That's why you gotta farm your food yourself. It's a bummer when you gotta slaughter the animals, but other than that it's all gravy baby.
- Surferess, on 05/23/2008, -1/+41Some companies have started putting a seal on their products that says No HFCS. I wish more companies would do that.
- kakwakas, on 05/23/2008, -0/+31You, sir, don't know how to make gravy.
- inactive, on 05/23/2008, -0/+27Yes, the four pillars of poor health that we keep seeing over and over again. If you don't know trans fat is bad for the body by now, well...at least you finally know it! =)
- AtheismFTW, on 05/23/2008, -2/+23I had to put down my cigarette to pound my fist at the big corporations for tainting the food I willingly eat.
- inactive, on 05/23/2008, -1/+19I eat crappy food because the healthy stuff takes to long to prepare for a single person.
I wish they'd make "people food". It would be like dog food. Same meal every day, already prepared, and completely healthy. - inactive, on 05/23/2008, -0/+17Don't invite me to your house for mashed potatoes and gravy, cause I'm not going. I think you need a new recipe
- liuite, on 05/23/2008, -7/+23time to ban HFCS
- macbookpromat, on 05/23/2008, -1/+17NaCl, it's one hell of a drug.
- DeFex, on 05/23/2008, -1/+17yeah its great when you see some supposedly good for you thing like "green tea" and its actually the same fructose/glucose crap they put in all the other drinks.
- Ne007, on 05/23/2008, -3/+17They forgot aspartame.
- TargetDog, on 05/23/2008, -2/+16Those are all completely obvious.
- RudeTurnip, on 05/23/2008, -0/+14Regarding salt: "You need a little every day to replace what's lost to sweat, tears, and other excretions." Giggity!
- enrlover, on 05/23/2008, -1/+14we are forced to consume high fructose corn syrup. it's in all of our soft drinks because our government imposes a tariff on imported sugar to protect the US sugar market. go to mexico and buy cola. by the way...you're welcome.
- marx2k, on 05/23/2008, -0/+12Hint: Don't buy bottled green tea. Buy it in tea bags and MAKE it :)
- marx2k, on 05/23/2008, -1/+13I just wish more companies would not *use* hfcs. I am one of those people that refuse to buy anything with hfcs (and a lot of other ingredients) and my shopping list has becomes short but very expensive. And it's expensive because I buy natural whole foods without fake sweeteners, preservatives, soy, etc.
- ligyron, on 05/23/2008, -3/+15I wish these things didn't even exist. It's so hard these days to eat healthy
It'll probably take a century before these things are weeded out entirely from the market and healthy alternatives are found - ckdisco, on 05/19/2009, -2/+13Crap... that's all I eat.
- antonio97b, on 05/23/2008, -0/+11Mmmm. I love me a mexican coke (made with sugar. Not HFC)
- inhaler, on 05/23/2008, -0/+10Jones soda is pretty good, and it's made from cane sugar iirc.
- alperea, on 05/23/2008, -0/+10Processed foods? I thought by the year 2008 we'd be able to put a pill in a microwave oven looking thing and instantly have a meal.
- Ryan2845, on 05/23/2008, -0/+10I'm still waiting to hydrate my first pizza hut pizza.
- Ryan2845, on 05/23/2008, -3/+12You aren't forced to consume it...that's your choice to drink soda
- Thugacation, on 05/23/2008, -5/+14 There is nothing more mouth-watering than a strong, healthy bovine in the artificial hormone-induced prime of life.
- d1gp1g, on 05/23/2008, -3/+11and ASPARTAME
avoid it - marx2k, on 05/23/2008, -2/+10You're forced to drink soft drinks?
- 2oonhed, on 05/23/2008, -0/+7I think you have one too many ingredients in your gravy.
- Ne007, on 05/23/2008, -0/+7I don't think that will ever happen. The FDA doesn't give a ***** about health. They are basically just a mafia like presence that is meant to regulate who gets profit and who doesn't.
Health isn't even secondary to the FDA these days...it's not even on the list. - inactive, on 05/23/2008, -4/+11Semen is actually pretty good for you, so you should be ok.
- marx2k, on 05/23/2008, -1/+8It was tiume to ban HFCS 10 years ago if not more
- takuansoho, on 05/23/2008, -2/+9Hey- a list thats not on Cracked for once!
- zydeco, on 05/23/2008, -0/+7Two words. Passover Coke. Stock enough to last all year.
- 2oonhed, on 05/23/2008, -0/+6and eat it out of a bowl on the floor?.......CONVENIENT!
- inactive, on 05/23/2008, -1/+7When I grow up, I'm going to Bovine University
- zydeco, on 05/23/2008, -0/+6Given the way corn prices are through the roof (THANKS WASHINGTON), I bet you see a lot more products switching back to sugar in the near future.
- quietgeek, on 05/23/2008, -1/+7Hence one of my BIGGEST complaints about much of the content on the web - No Datestamps! It gets really old searching for information and constantly running into articles and how-tos, getting half way through them before realizing they could be 5-10 years old.
How hard is it to have posting dates associated to an article?
I know they want content to show up for searched for ad revenue,, and I can appreciated that....so put a damn date on the article for heaven's sake! - celticchrys, on 05/23/2008, -1/+7Actually, if we all quit eating cows, then the cows would probably face endangerment as a species, since we wouldn't farm them anymore.
- xonkonog, on 05/23/2008, -0/+5not all sugars are the same.
they digest differently and affect the metabolism differently. - Amadeus2490, on 05/23/2008, -0/+5Bachelor Chow: Now With Flavor!
- Ryan2845, on 05/23/2008, -1/+6Due to the advancement of medical science, so that when you clog those arteries, they can now clean em out for ya.
- GreatOne08, on 05/23/2008, -2/+6Sodium is probably not that bad for you. There is no definitive proof that it is.
- desertDenizen, on 05/23/2008, -0/+4That's primarily from antibiotics and improved hygiene, you correlation-doesn't-equal-causation, statistics-failing dumb ass. :) See what happens to life expectancy as developing nations adopt the Western diet... they start dying from Western diseases (cancer, heart disease, and diabetes primarily -- all rare in these cultures prior to their switching diets.Yet they die less often from parasites and communicable diseases. See T. Colin Campbell's book, "The China Study." You'll freak when you see what is known among dietary science research that we aren't taught, and your doctor probably doesn't even know.
- pauleric, on 05/23/2008, -1/+5Mmmmm... castrated bovine, clubbed to death, left to hang and rot for a few days, cut up limb from limb, then charred and served bloody...mmmmm
I love a good steak, just don't think I could work in a slaughter house. - zumpiez, on 05/23/2008, -2/+6Because vegans are preachy.
- stuma9000, on 05/23/2008, -1/+5Yes it is. Processed grains like white flour leach nutrients from your body.
- Gimpishi, on 05/23/2008, -0/+4***** yeah, Jones soda FTW
- Duston, on 05/23/2008, -0/+4Could you clarify you Sucralose comment? How can a zero calorie additive have the same effect as sugar?
- saranagati, on 05/23/2008, -0/+4i once tried to start eating raw without reading any tips and caught salmonella. who knew you couldn't eat raw chicken?
- Mothrog, on 05/23/2008, -1/+5Something tells me you're fat because you're lazy.
- charlietuna, on 05/23/2008, -1/+5High sodium levels cause the body to add water to our blood (to dilute the sodium). Greater blood volume causes higher blood pressure.
