- T8erT0T, on 09/04/2008, -0/+31Well, on the bright side, this article is so boring it might actually be a cure for insomnia.

- Diffy, on 09/04/2008, -1/+8Most of these are not kinds of insomnia but causes of insomnia.

- NJank, on 09/04/2008, -0/+5what about the kind where you just got 'shut down' and you're waiting for Mr. Happy to settle down so you can finally go to sleep?
- PGPirate, on 09/04/2008, -0/+5"Insomnia due to drug or substance
This type of insomnia is directly related to the use of any of the following substances.
• Medication
• Caffeine
• /Alcohol/
• A food item"
I usually fall fast asleep (pass out) when I drink alcohol. And its usually good sleep. - ProfessorRamrod, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4i havent slept in 22 hours, what does that make me?
- mandel15, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4Guys, seriously going to bed at 1.30am - 4 am is not insomnia, is just that you are hooked to PC/TV/Something... I've got insomnia and is when you go to bed, you stay there for hours and DO NOT fall sleep, you just are just staring at the ceiling for most of the night without sleeping until you realize that you might as well do something productive.
For me how it works is that I sleep 2-3 hours a day for about 5 days and suddenly collapse for about 24 hours. I sleep all I need and get back to the everyday routine... - wettestwillie, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4Whats the one called where you have to finish the last quest in the chain before you can fall asleep?
- keltx, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4So many words... and yet it said so little.
- abrasion, on 09/04/2008, -2/+5I may not be tall, handsome, fit or clever in my use of time (internet freak) but if there's one thing my genes passed on to me - god knows where it developed from is sleep - I am a grand master.
I hit the pillow and am normally asleep within 90 seconds.
In 30 years, I'd estimate I've had less than 30 nights of troubled sleep, not bad.
I don't know if my tips work for you'all but I always have the comforter over my ear but my nose poking out for air.
zzzZZZZzz - Rudegar, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3how many types of narcoleptic ?
- edwartica, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3Well then aren't you a lucky duck.
- edwartica, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3Wimp. I didn't go to bed till 3 AM. And I had to get up at 7!
- ManicA, on 09/04/2008, -1/+4I got the narcoleptic blues/
All I wanna do is snooze/
Can't stay awake very long/
Just long enough to finish this zzzzzzzzzzzz - FeloniusMonkey, on 09/04/2008, -1/+3You just blew my freakin' mind.
- thedinomeister, on 09/04/2008, -1/+3How about "Insomnia due to being Human"?
- numeka, on 09/04/2008, -1/+3I smell irony.
But then again it's 1:50am here and I'm finally feeling drowsy... - Knowltey, on 09/04/2008, -0/+2Probably the last one. related to excessive worrying
- nomadofthehills, on 09/04/2008, -0/+2What a ***** article.
- TheMidnight, on 09/04/2008, -0/+2So in other words, nine of the eleven kinds of insomnia have no specified cause or are "caused by some other condition." Why the ***** isn't there just ONE "unknown insomnia?" Who gets paid to classify things we don't know? What the hell is he smoking?
The nerve of some lab assistants... - dfsjdkflasjk, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1As long as I drink at least 8-10 oz of water after finishing drinking I definitely agree. If I don't (just drink liquor, nothing else), I'll wake up 3-4 hours later with the worst stomach ache ever.
- dfsjdkflasjk, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1Thanks for looking at this article at face value, obviously you've never been able to not sleep for an extended period of time.
- Knowltey, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1What does Gaara have? Would it be a severe case of Psychophysiological insomnia?
- lanalachat, on 09/04/2008, -1/+2How does this help in anyways? Basically is just organizing reasons why people have insomnia.
By the looks of it someone had too much time on their hands... In the middle of the night? - dfsjdkflasjk, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1More like "insomnia when trying to abide by societal standards"?
- LegendaryJoey, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1I found an article about insomnia on digg a little while ago, its pretty interesting
http://digg.com/health/Buzz_Prevention_Insomnia_Tr ... - lanalachat, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1oh i definitely have!
this article is interesting, sure. it doesn't help me sleep in anyway though. - matt2m, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1All i know is that if I am not high it is extremely difficult to go to sleep. My mind focus on all those little noises at night and it can take me well over an hour to go to sleep no matter how tired I am. Also if I am not high my dreams are worse case scenario terror type of dreams and i wake up tired, if i am baked I dream blackness and wake up refreshed
- MechaTC, on 09/05/2008, -0/+1They forgot one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatal_familial_insomn ...
Pretty terrifying if you ask me. - john570, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1World Of Warcraft!! I just unsubed.
- dfsjdkflasjk, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1Thanks for posting this, I finally found a name for the type of insomnia that I've had since the middle of 07: Psychophysiological insomnia. It's gotten substantially better lately (mostly due to reading books from my bed).
- orchidee2, on 09/04/2008, -1/+1I am very happy about not needing much sleep, but falling asleep as soon as my head touches the pillow!
- Nescirian, on 09/05/2008, -0/+0Irony: I smell =
- orthomattress, on 10/03/2008, -0/+0Sleep problems should be taken seriously. The divorce rate is high for people who snore. A sleep test could save your marriage. I have sleep Apnea. Since I addressed it. It changed my life. Another benefit of addressing your sleep problems. You will say less " honey I am too tired." for you know what....
- orthomattress, on 10/03/2008, -0/+0sleep deprived! Interesting are you a professor? IF you are you probably already know that you learn in your sleep. Good night!
- jacobhill69, on 12/04/2008, -0/+0I was up till 4 am yesterday...
http://www.curemysweatyfeet.com - NJank, on 09/04/2008, -2/+1what about the kind where you just got 'shut down' and you're waiting for Mr. Happy to settle down so you can finally go to sleep?
- mario323, on 09/04/2008, -4/+3Its funny that nerds think they're so special that they have "insomnia" when really, you would be able to fall asleep if you just turned the computer off and went to bed.
