- SHuisman, on 06/30/2008, -0/+16Cinnamon, lets try a spoon of that !
- HedwigDies, on 06/30/2008, -0/+12Yeah pomegranate juice is great and full of antioxidants, but the prices are ridiculous at the grocery store. It is possible to eat well cheaply, but it's pretty difficult -- it would be nice if the NY Times would recognize that. Perhaps they could suggest some cheap alternatives instead of putting out these articles every couple of months that coincide with that article's writer dropping their new "wonder health book" that consists of common sense your mom probably taught you (multiple servings of fruits and veggies each day are good, multiple servings of M&M's are not.)
- sassyt, on 06/30/2008, -1/+12Actually it's not that bad... well dried plums, cinnamon and frozen blueberries are pretty yummy
- Kenzan, on 06/30/2008, -0/+11Cinnamon.....
The spice must flow.... - inactive, on 06/30/2008, -3/+12these*
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -1/+9Yes, you're right. I'm not eating that.
- kmattso, on 06/30/2008, -0/+8I like to top my sardines with Tumerc and Cinnamon and then add a side of cabbage, beet and pumpkin seed salad. Afterwards, I feel like I'm on ***** FIRE!!
- VyPR, on 06/30/2008, -0/+8"Dried plums: Okay, so they are really prunes, but packed with cancer-fighting antioxidants.
How to eat: Wrapped in prosciutto and baked."
Well no *****. Everything's better when WRAPPED IN HAM. - geneticlone, on 06/30/2008, -0/+7Ok, being russian the first thing that came into my mind after reading this is: borsch.
- jfg84, on 06/30/2008, -0/+6I love beets. O we ooh. Killer tofu.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -0/+6how about avocados
- braeden0613, on 06/30/2008, -0/+6cinnamon and blueberries? this is a groundbreaking list
- GiJoeBob, on 06/30/2008, -1/+6I already eat all these except the sardines and beets, and I don't care what you say - I ain't eatin' it.
- shagen, on 06/30/2008, -1/+6That's what she said!
- Camdon, on 06/30/2008, -0/+5Are these really that unusual? You can find everything on this is except for plums (I'm allergic) and pomegranate juice in my kitchen. I had no idea I was so culinarily weird or healthy.
- OtterStratton, on 06/30/2008, -1/+5"1. Beets: Think of beets as red spinach, Dr. Bowden said, because they are a rich source of folate as well as natural red pigments that may be cancer fighters."
Dwight Schrute ftw. - VyPR, on 06/30/2008, -0/+4They did one better. They suggest you eat prunes wrapped in ham.
- bdbr, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4Beets. Blueberries. Battlestar Galactica.
- LiceHelpDotCom, on 06/30/2008, -3/+7No bacon?!?!
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -0/+4WARNING: These diets can make you Gassy McGas
http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2006/06/royals180 ... - pixelfishfood, on 06/30/2008, -1/+4I eat all these foods regularly, except for the sardines (I'm a vegetarian) and the Swiss chard (but I do eat a lot of spinach).
- mhaus, on 06/30/2008, -0/+3I don't need to see them on the list, Bear Grylls told me they were nature's super-food.
- AsianChopsticks, on 06/30/2008, -0/+3Now if only I can find a way to combine all these things into one dish...
- adiyo011, on 06/30/2008, -0/+3Beets are delicious when you keep them cold and in their sauce or something. They make a nice complement to roast beef.
I already eat a lot of them, quite good. - inactive, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Wrong order probably; it's "Bears, beets, Battlestar Galatica."
- KingGorilla, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Unfortunately I eat sugar cereal. It makes my teeth bacterial :(
- BoneStamp, on 06/30/2008, -1/+4+2 for Pumpkins.

Screw you stupid pretentious list. How do you know what I'm eating? - dekuscrub, on 06/30/2008, -0/+3Dugg for sardines.
- TheMachine1, on 06/30/2008, -0/+3He drank his on piss though in one show.
- KaneElson, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2If you don't eat these things at least occasionally then you are weird. I was expecting some weird foreign products but these are all very familiar....
- leetninja, on 07/01/2008, -1/+3# Dried plums: Okay, so they are really prunes, but packed with cancer-fighting antioxidants.
How to eat: Wrapped in prosciutto and baked.
BECAUSE ALL THE SALT IN PROSCIUTTO IS GOOD FOR YOU!!! - dunktim, on 06/30/2008, -1/+3Waffles.
- Sponky, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2Are you insane?
Sardines and tomato sauce on toast sprinkled with a little cracked black pepper and chopped fresh parsley = luscious. - inactive, on 06/30/2008, -0/+2I have all of these in my kitchen too, except for Swiss chard. I'll look into the last one, since it might be an interesting addition.
- kevinwiz, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2False.
- soupdawg30, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2I'll take your word for it.
- zer0nix, on 03/23/2009, -0/+1more for me.
OMNOMNOMNOM - azurite, on 06/30/2008, -0/+1Beetroot is delicious on a burger. ;-)
- zer0nix, on 03/23/2009, -0/+1(real) africans, because the spice isn't native to their lands and they were never exposed to it as children; the mere smell of cinnamon makes them vomit.
- sirajul, on 01/11/2009, -0/+1Beets are not a common vegetable in Bangladesh, costly, and available on a limited scale. We take raw carrots and tomatoes during winter (December-January, extended unto February), and cucumbers, round the year. Cabbage is also a winter vegetable, and widely taken. Pumpkins are available round the year, and a common dish, but seeds are usually thrown out as trash (for lack of knowledge, of course). While cinnamon and turmeric are common spices, and used in every cooking, we take dried plum with aubergine (eggplant), and sometime, with pulses and other curries. Pomegranate is available, but not the blueberries or sardines, and I didn’t understand what Swiss chard is. Anybody has any idea for equivalence?
- gryphon50, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1I try not to use that word. Apparently it is a slang term in a lot of Spanish-speaking countries. I don't want people to think I'm into something I'm not.
- bl4ckman, on 03/16/2009, -0/+1Eating the right foods is important for being healty and not overweight. However, if you do have a belly, and are wondering what's the best way to lose stomach fat, then click here > http://www.bestexercisetolosebellyfat.net/
