- fpcyber, on 10/11/2007, -6/+217Talk back to them about your problems, see how they like it.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+127I saw a girl once.
- mattxb, on 10/11/2007, -10/+113It couldn't possibly be that girls who are anxious and depressed are more likely to talk about problems with friends. No, I guess thats not an interesting enough report.
Or maybe that girls who are quiet and don't discuss their anxiety with friends are unlikely to discuss it with researchers. - jthomp3120, on 10/11/2007, -9/+97how about just avoiding conversations with girls that talk to much.
- mannymix03, on 10/11/2007, -4/+78well good thing no girls to talk me, i dont have to deal with it..
- theshizzler, on 10/11/2007, -10/+73Great news! Now where can I find a study saying that sandwich making is good for women too?
- Kurisuku, on 10/11/2007, -9/+70Then they bitch you out and say you're self-centered.
If you accuse them of the same they blow up and get violent, even if they secretly understand you're trying to get them to understand what they put YOU through. How dare you not make an exception for them and listen to their whining! ScreescreeSCREEEEE.
You can't win. That's why I'm gay. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+53Stop whining like a little sissy, it's depressing.
- MichaelEgan, on 10/11/2007, -2/+37I think you mean ex-girlfriend.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+36So you suggest avoiding girls altogether?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+31shouldn't be a problem for most diggers
- DOCKAUF55, on 10/11/2007, -1/+30How many emo kids does it take to change a light bulb?
As many as you can fit in the room, they'll just sit in the dark and cry. - PacoDEmu, on 10/11/2007, -4/+33"You can't win. That's why I'm gay."
wow, I'm not sure I want to know what it's like when it's that bad... - tech42er, on 10/11/2007, -2/+30It's just a Digg inside joke. We don't mean it.
- tim04, on 10/11/2007, -1/+28there's a clear difference between keeping your mouth shut and never shutting up
- catalysis, on 10/11/2007, -2/+28Other peoples' suffering is not a reason to be happy. You can always find someone who has it worse than you, but how exactly does that solve your own problems? Does it make you happy to just tell yourself "well, at least I'm not him?"
- guywhodoesstuff, on 10/11/2007, -16/+42Smack em up a bit too, they like it rough.
- mt066, on 10/11/2007, -4/+29That's a nice executive summary, submitter.
- blondishmink, on 10/11/2007, -11/+35I'm glad you're all man enough to make sexist comments, anonymously, on a site that few girls read. :/
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+25World of Warcraft? Their hot sister? Linux Kernels?
- TheSexyGeek, on 10/11/2007, -7/+30The problem isn't that they're talking about their problems. It's that they're talking to OTHER GIRLS about their problems. What girls like to do is throw pity parties where all their friends feel sorry for them. They like it when people sympathize and make them feel like it's okay to be upset. I guess they call this 'emotional support'.
Men on the other hand tend to look for a SOLUTION to the problem. Therefore, talking to men would work to their benefit since the more problems you solve, the less problems you have. However, when we start presenting solutions to the problems without the emotional mirroring, we are seen as insensitive.
Which one would you rather? Having a problem and a bunch of people crying with you? OR Having a former problem that nobody gives a ***** about? - JDoorjam, on 10/11/2007, -3/+25Correlation doesn't prove causation. Stressed anxious girls are more likely to talk about being stressed and anxious. That's not news, and is not enough evidence to turn it around and say that talking about those feelings causes them in the first place.
- JoshuaH, on 10/11/2007, -7/+28Lol emo kid.
- tim04, on 10/11/2007, -4/+24dude Disease...enough with the Diggers have no girlfriend crap. You're only speaking for yourself buddy and it clearly makes you feel better to believe that no one else here is hitched. sorry to break it to you but that's just not true.
- Rahodeb, on 10/11/2007, -3/+22No, I've witnessed this first hand. So has anyone who has worked somewhere with people that like to bitch. They'll get together and bitch about anything, their boss, customers, blah blah blah. In the end, everyone is just that much more disgruntled and depressed about meaningless crap.
- Disease, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19Don't you know humans are irrational?
- mortigon, on 10/11/2007, -7/+24I'd rather tell them to shutup
- maabus, on 10/11/2007, -6/+23Solution: when a girl won't stop talking, put your dick in her mouth. If she keeps talking, then it's a hummer, and more power to ya.
- nullmind, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17Girl: ...
Me: Yeah, I know what you mean.. Like, I had to totally modify the hell out of this Makefile today only to find out that the whole thing was using automake and it overwrote my changes. - twmsdude, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Too bad my girlfriend falls under that category. Bummer.
- knde, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16On the other hand, as a woman myself, I am always appalled at the amount of information; women are willing to give away on their relationships. It irritates me to no end.
Women shut up about the flaws and missteps in your relationships! It cheapens your relationship and gives your family and friends, ample reason to disrespect your partner in the future. Too many times I hear women ruthlessly harping on about the flaws in their relationship/partner. And all I can think is, “Perhaps if you’d shut you beak for a moment, you’d realise maybe you’re a big contributor to the problems you’re having.”
And as a general suggestion, I really wish more women would not underestimate the power of paucity in words. - oyourmom, on 10/11/2007, -18/+32Thats what the back part of your hand is for.
- Jo9100, on 10/11/2007, -5/+18a girl that talks too much > a girl that talks not enough (having no conversation is worse)
- Eliza101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13I feel so sorry for "your girl."
- lrf2005, on 10/11/2007, -4/+17That's why you're gay?!? Wow, jumping ship a bit early on the annoy-o-meter, are we?
- f0dder, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13who needs women when diggers have their Mac,iPod, iPhone, Wii & a pict of Ron Paul
- ealderm, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Posting misogynistic comments on digg is akin to co-ruminating, fellas. Stop before you get all anxious and depressed!!!!!
- chubbybubba, on 10/11/2007, -7/+18I've found a perfect compromise. I let them talk all they want, I just don't listen. Just nod my head every so often and repeat the last thing they said every few minutes like I'm agreeing with them. But all I'm thinking about is .... well... you know.
- mortigon, on 10/11/2007, -7/+18I'm gonna send this article to my girlfriend
- scbysnx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12I think its pretty obvious that its not the ONLY reason he's gay
- hmugabe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Grow up and grow a pair son.
- Pfhreak, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I don't care how annoying my wife gets (fortunately, even her worst days are endurable, and most of the time she's pretty easy to live with), there's no way I'd turn gay just because of being annoyed by a female or females in general.
- omnithought, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10You're awesome. I want you to have my abortion. ;)
(Yes, folks, it's ok to laugh at that.) - Deodrus, on 10/11/2007, -17/+27How about you just show them a dead child in Iraq and tell them to stop feeling sorry for themselves?
In the light of greater sorrow, our myriad "boyfriend" troubles are silly and stupid. Let's not make mountains out of molehills. How about that? - Toshibi, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14It's not really sexism when it's the truth. I'm the guy that has a ***** load of problems on his plate and then has to sit through everyone I know bitching about their own, male and female, and it's 10 times worse from the females. You offer solutions and they just sigh and say something like "You're right, but {insert emotional non-rational response here}". It's like the women who are in ***** relationships and spend 99% of their time in them arguing and fighting (or it could even be physically abusive) and you tell them straight out "Leave the *****!" and they shoot back "But I love him!" Then why are you complaining to me about it? Not trying to blame the victim here, but you're an adult, you have the ability to make decisions for yourself...MOVE ON!
Sorry, lots of pent up anger at the stupidity of some of my friends and acquaintances...I dugg you up, because your statement is true. - cubicrystal, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Ah another article written by a so-called *scientist* for the sheeple. As if there wasn't enough misinformation about human nature clogging the airwaves as it is.
- rodii, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Why are digg users so ***** stupid?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -6/+16Or maybe if you discover that most of us here in the good ole USA don't really have problems and decided to just be happy, we'd all be better off.
- noblepenguin, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Probably because you _can't_ "turn."
- resplence, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10I disagree. I'd take silence over annoyance any day.
