- solstice21, on 10/23/2008, -7/+304My initial response: "Wow this is on Fox News? No way!"
- FelixDrylock, on 10/24/2008, -7/+153Have you ever seen the back of a 20 dollar bill, man?
Have you ever seen the back of a 20 dollar bill... ON WEED.
Oh, there's some crazy *****, man. There's a dude in the bushes. Has he got a gun? I dunno! RED TEAM GO, RED TEAM GO. - twitchr, on 10/23/2008, -11/+139Wait...what was the question?
- HastyBoom, on 10/23/2008, -7/+101Wow I dugg a Fox.
- Sup3rSh3ep, on 10/24/2008, -4/+88"long-term marijuana users who had smoked more than 22,000 joints over a lifetime" - should invest in a bong
- evilcaptain, on 10/23/2008, -6/+82Oh noes... I dug a Fux noise story. This must be a dream :)
- andy3109, on 10/24/2008, -9/+78That is the only FOX article Diggers will EVER agree with.
- fr3ddie, on 10/24/2008, -3/+55its NOT a TUMOR!
- DrVic, on 10/24/2008, -2/+53Pack bowls not bombs!
- mparker21311, on 10/24/2008, -1/+51I'm still waiting for reasons why it should remain illegal. This isn't a huge deal to rock stars and politicians, they have their drugs already. But us little people cannot enjoy a nice buzz of Mary Jane? RIDICULOUS!
- BaudiIROCZ, on 10/24/2008, -3/+52Happy Friday everyone! Who else can't wait to FIGHT CANCER this weekend?
- bmc31190, on 10/24/2008, -0/+48you mean 'fight cancer'
- cJw314, on 10/24/2008, -0/+42i just watched that last night... ON WEED.
- FryerJF, on 10/24/2008, -4/+46SMOKING marijuana has negative health ramifications. Smoking ANYTHING generally has health ramifications such as irritated lung tissue, often impairing your immune system, etc.
Just the use of marijuana and the cannabinoids it contains has not been shown in ANY study to cause health problems, only benefits. Unless you consider mild euphoria and appetite stimulation a negative. - DannyDriffs, on 10/24/2008, -6/+46buried for being blatant attempt at being highly dugg response
LEGALIZE IT - inactive, on 10/24/2008, -3/+41I dream of the day when i can walk into a liquor store and buy marijuana cigarettes.
- jaredseth, on 10/24/2008, -2/+34Buried for managing to spell "buried", "blatant" and "attempt" wrong in one comment, AutoTom.
- jsffive, on 10/24/2008, -10/+38I don't really care about the medicinal effects. I just like getting high.
The absolute LAST thing that I want is "medical" marijuana...
The sons-of-bitches will charge you $50.00 to administer a TYLENOL in a hospital... what do you think they'll do with medical marijuana?
You make medical pot legal today, and after the medical/insurance complex has their way with it, you won't be able to buy a bag of SWAG on the street for less than $500.00 an OUNCE!
Screw the law. It only protects the politicians. - Kyrgizion, on 10/24/2008, -4/+29On the news here yesterday: Dutch coffeeshops in the Dutch-Belgian border towns of Roosendaal & Bergen-op-Zoom are being CLOSED. "For prevention". The others will soon follow.
Legalize it? It doesn't seem likely now, in fact less than ever. Big pharma & big tobacco have far too much at stake here. - malice8691, on 10/24/2008, -2/+25Legalize it!. Not for me of course. Its for that guy ^
- aparatoc, on 10/24/2008, -4/+26I smoke 22,000 joints in the morning.
I smoke 22,000 joints at night.
I smoke 22,000 joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright
I smoke 22,000 joints in time of peace, and 22,000 in time of war
I smoke 22,000 joints before I smoke 22,000 joints,
And then I smoke 22,000 more - mykool, on 10/24/2008, -0/+22They already have - it's called Marinol (sp?) and very expensive and ineffective.
- ceredron, on 10/24/2008, -0/+21uh... medicinal marijuana already exists and it pretty damn popular today. Where do you live, cause I live in Oregon and medicinal marijuana is the best thing that happened to quality and price of street ganj out here.
- Narcowski, on 10/24/2008, -0/+21No harder to regulate than tobacco, which also used to be grown by the one(s) smoking it, rather than megafarms.
- Adamlite, on 10/24/2008, -0/+21@Unlimited: If you've been smoking for three years and have only spent $100 on weed, you are a mooch.
- Brii, on 10/24/2008, -0/+20Cannabis exceeds almost everything at everything.
- oxdeltaxo, on 10/24/2008, -1/+21Big cotton and big paper are against it as well. With the right processing hemp can exceed the quality of most fabrics.
- AutoTom, on 10/24/2008, -9/+28any diggers in melbourne wanna get together and share a spliff?
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+19lol i just watched that last night. great movie
- RAEP, on 10/24/2008, -4/+22Samesies.
- charmaniac, on 10/24/2008, -14/+32Heavy use of marijuana most certainly has negative health ramifications. You are delusional if you think otherwise. That said, I love me some weed.
- swazo, on 10/24/2008, -1/+17I dunno man, its gotten to the point where I am afraid to STOP smoking marijuana. How do I know I do not have a disease thc is fighting off and keeping me alive.
If I stop smoking, I am going to die. - MarkOfTheDead, on 10/24/2008, -1/+17or a vaporizer :)
- oxdeltaxo, on 10/24/2008, -4/+20Well it only causes health problems if you so happen to set it on fire, and inhale the smoke. If you vaporize it on the other hand it has virtually no negative side effects.
- Tbyrd073, on 10/24/2008, -1/+17Thats over 9000!
- Raphas, on 10/24/2008, -3/+19You are late as *****. Info is from 2006.
- TheUnlearn, on 10/24/2008, -0/+15Big Oil, too. The diesel engine was originally designed to run on hemp seed oil because Rudolph Diesel assumed that it would be the most abundant fuel source.
- jtbell04, on 10/24/2008, -0/+15Have you ever fought cancer... ON WEED?
- mykool, on 10/24/2008, -6/+20Hey US government - wake up and smell the roaches! The only people in the US who want marijuana to stay illegal are the people whos job depends on it(law enforcment) and few who still believe the bull ***** the DEA and RFDA have been spewing for years. Fact is marijuana is so socially acceptable that radio and television are pandering to pot heads with shows like "WEEDS" ( consistently the #1 and #2 TV torrent d/l of the summer) and the 4:20 fix ( a spot on the local classic rock station.)
I have asthma and sometimes when I smoke pot it helps, in fact most of the time, but sometimes it makes it worse, I'd like to know why, I'd like to know what strains makes it worse and which ones make it better. Why, why are you doing this to your children Uncle Sam? - gnalakalaciath5, on 10/24/2008, -0/+14dugg for obviously being high
- vtnerd, on 10/24/2008, -0/+14They don't need to regulate your home grow. They can tax the seeds when you buy those and leave you alone. The government doesn't tax anybody's home grown tomatoes, afterall.
- FryerJF, on 10/24/2008, -1/+15Actually, I haven't smoked marijuana in over 3 years, so there goes that assertion. Secondly, people denying scientific evidence and personal testimonials, for whatever biased reasons sounds a lot more like the crap that keeps people from taking legalization of marijuana for medical purposes seriously that the information I provided.
Keep in mind, I only pointed you to a resource and told you what information was contained there. If you want to get angry about the information I provided, feel free, but don't attempt to tell me that my opinion on the matter, which I didn't even share, is invalid for some reason. - DrVic, on 10/24/2008, -0/+14I will see you on the battlefield!
- redux2redux, on 10/24/2008, -0/+13Though I hate taxes, if they taxed it like cigarettes we could balance the budget.
- sc0tty0, on 10/24/2008, -0/+13how about walking into the marijuana store and buying liquor...
- sodade, on 10/24/2008, -3/+16@AchaIemoipas - you are obviously one of those rare people who shouldn't smoke pot because you have latent schizophrenia.
"massive depression, impotence, a complete lack of motivation leading to poor social relationships, generalized apathy, loss of concentration, loss of short term memory and even the loss of a few IQ points."
Well, I started smoking pot because it helped me fight depression. When alone, I tend to jack off right after my 1st smoke of the day. Since starting smoking, I went from totally nonathletic to being a intermediate level mountain biker. I have definitely minimized my social connections, but that's because I eliminated the ***** (which made the remaining relationships better). I am only apathetic about being a cog in the social wheel and pot helped me see that. I manage to accomplish plenty of complex mental tasks while stoned. Basically every single thing you said is the complete opposite of my experience.
As I said, you don't sound like someone who should smoke pot, but you can't tell me that it is bad for me. - Tarantulus, on 10/24/2008, -0/+13woah...... paranoid? you certainly are!
- TheMarenum, on 10/24/2008, -1/+13"long-term marijuana users who had smoked more than 22,000 joints over a lifetime" -have no idea where they put their keys.
- c0mputar, on 10/24/2008, -0/+12They won't bother producing marijuana for the market if people are only going to buy it under a certain price. If the government buys the weed off growers and sells it at 1000% market value, then no one is going to buy it, and so the illicit dealers will still win. The idea behind legalizing weed is that it would make it cheaper and healthier. Past prohibitions have shown this. Then since weed > tobacco, and is a great mix with alchohol, but better then alchohol, the alchohol and tobacco industry will take a huge ***** hit... Therefore, it won't be legalized if the lobbyists have anything to say about it.
I don't think I'm arguing against you, it's hard to know what your stance is off your post, but this is how I see it. So if they do make weed legal to use to fight tumours, then so be it, but you don't have to buy it from the hospitol, just like you don't have to have chemo... If you want weed treatment, buy it illegally. -
