- fishroy, on 07/15/2009, -3/+34"Turn for the worse." Sounds like Oregon Trail.
- onlyseano, on 07/14/2009, -1/+21I actually came in contact with the swine flu. We all made shirts that said "I survived" with a flying pig on it.
- manergy, on 07/15/2009, -0/+19You have died of dysentery.
- sockpuppets, on 07/15/2009, -0/+17How is babby formed?
- jmp478, on 07/15/2009, -5/+22These comments suck more than this article.
- directedition, on 07/15/2009, -1/+16http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cytokine_storm - Just a little FYI on why even seasonal flu kills the young and healthy.
- Smegzor, on 07/14/2009, -0/+11Let me guess. "Oh *****! I think I have swine flu, but I'm not going to stay home in bed all day. Lets go clubbing!" *THUD*
- puitar, on 07/15/2009, -0/+10No-one's forcing you to.
- O8SERVER, on 07/15/2009, -0/+9Hope they pull through.
- falser, on 07/15/2009, -1/+10That's it, I'm stocking up on Campbell's soup, Nyquil and Sprite.
- collution, on 07/15/2009, -0/+9"...most people are stupid"
Thanks for proving and reassuring that. - vampireboyy, on 07/15/2009, -0/+8The swine flu is still around? Wouldn't know it now that the media is raping MJ's corpse for headlines.
- Gareth321, on 07/15/2009, -2/+9More people die from regular flu than swine flu. The problem here is that young people are dying as well as old. That confuses us somewhat, but I still don't consider it nearly as dangerous as the media is making it out to be.
On a related note, my friend's brother was diagnosed with swine flu - I'm staying away from my friend for a few weeks. - whatthefu, on 07/15/2009, -1/+8This is all just like Pandemic 2. Has Madagascar closed its ports yet? Maybe the swine flu still has a shot at reaching there.
- Palaceguard, on 07/15/2009, -2/+9Don't leave your house
- skidork, on 07/15/2009, -2/+8It's just you. I'm not afraid of any of these things.
- skidork, on 07/15/2009, -2/+8Sounds like a case of the pot calling the kettle stupid.
The thing with swine flu is that it can mutate rapidly into a virulent strain. It can also remain as "harmless" as it has been. - yocouchdigga, on 07/15/2009, -1/+7You'll be okay, syntax. I heard Swine Flu only effects people that don't overuse commas.
- skidork, on 07/15/2009, -3/+9Thanks for turning that trend around.
- Inceptious, on 07/15/2009, -3/+9Turn for the worse? Seems to be pretty steady to me (LOGARITHMIC GRAPH) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Influenza-2009-c ...
- TeenReader, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5"the disease is striking some young, healthy people" I think im good
- skidork, on 07/15/2009, -1/+6Actually, it has only been around since March or so. Definitely not a decade.
Also, you made a baseless claim that people are stupid, without proving it first.
And that is why I think you're stupid. - collution, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5"you can't reply, 'Oh hur hur, no YOU'RE THE DUMB ONE' with nothing to provide"
Oh hur hur, no YOU'RE THE DUMB ONE
Shat brickx yet? - wilf_brim, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4Um, that is a graph on semi-log scale. A straight line on semi-log paper is an exponential growth curve
- jaymzdean, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4I am a visitor from the future. I was sent to remind you of the 1979 swine flu event.
Please gaggle it...or...google it, as you all say now. - AntonMoss, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Myself as well. I caught it returning to Canada via Australia. It really wasn't that big of a deal, it was, for sure, the worst flu I've ever had in my life. However it was never as bad as it was made out to be, at worst, I spent a day or two on the sofa. However, I'm young and healthy, so perhaps it could have been worse.
- howea, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Awesome name for a MMP game or a band
- Poindexter, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Don't eat the fast food french fries, ask Dvorak and Curry on "No Agenda"!
- falser, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3It is the secret recipe of my peoples.
- GrandZooby, on 07/15/2009, -2/+5The missing piece of data is how many people did not die from the swine flu who were successfully vaccinated.
Without that, you can't really know if the vaccine was actually more detrimental than helpful.
The other piece to consider is if a causal relationship can be established for those 25 deaths and the thousands of injuries or if there were other causes. Correlation is only the first step in determining causation. - dancantone, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Sounds as if you speak from experience...??
- pagno, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Does this virus have an incubation period? Aside from a coordinated bio-atttack, I really cant see how this flu virus can strike all over the world, all in the same time frame. If I am missing something, help me understand, but this whole ***** is far too coincidental.
- bizchris, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Long answer, yyyyyyeeeeessssssssssssss?
- Paranor01, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3picks up the tin-foil hat that fell off your head during your gyrating rant.
"you want this back or should i just put it in the trash can?" - hongkongjapie, on 07/15/2009, -7/+10I'm not a doctor and hell no, I'm not an expert, but let's crack that 'puzzle' for you:
H1N1 is just a flu, but the strand has less similarity to earlier flu's than normal seasonal flu strands.
This means the older you are the greater the changes are your immune system has 'seen' a similar strand before and thus gives your body some protection (less severe or not getting it at all). Note, all flu's kill: about 1 in 1000 or something, so the hit-ratio isn't that different although it's hard to get accurate figures as not all people with symptoms are tested but if you are on life support I guess you are.
As it's winter here down-under, it's flu-season, so good change you'll get in contact with swine flu one way or the other. - fortheworld, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3What would allah do?
- yocouchdigga, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3*my bad
- boardwalk, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Swine flu is definitely over-hyped when one considers how many more people die from influenza and bronchitis every day. I smell a fearmongering campaign here by pharmaceutical companies who want to push their toxic, mercury-filled "vaccines" onto healthy people. These companies don't give a ***** about people and only want to exploit this situation for profit.
- Inceptious, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2THANKS FOR THAT ONE SHERLOCK.
- skidork, on 07/15/2009, -2/+4Got a link, tough guy?
- dancantone, on 07/15/2009, -1/+3But not more than your sister!
- therippa, on 07/15/2009, -5/+7Meanwhile, 98.6 people died from the regular flu today, just in the United States
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Where can I download virus signatures for this thing?
- Rixar13, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Words of Advice, Never Screw a Pig ----- They Squeal.
- logir, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2That's confirmed cases. Lots of people just get the flu and get better, especially in places like the poorer parts of Mexico where you don't really have access to a doctor any way.
- logir, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2I was in Mexico City just recovering from The Flu when it hit the media. I'm considering a t-shirt that says "I had Swine Flu before it was famous".
- emt1451, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2i hope you die before you get the chance
- logir, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2His brother is contagious for 5 days, your friend for as much as another 5. You're also only contagious for a couple of days before symptoms appear. Don't worry too much.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2***** that, I'm going to Vegas. What's the worst that can happen?
