- emecks, on 04/22/2009, -1/+34Give 'em salty water - that'll help them puke out all the bugs ;)
*no medical advice from me is to be taken seriously, ever. - Rockonthelawn, on 04/22/2009, -1/+22no, crave!
- ChayD, on 04/22/2009, -0/+19Your kids need Brawndo - The thirst mutilator
It's got electrolytes. - novenator, on 04/22/2009, -2/+19Too bad, I learned to love warm, flat 7-up during my childhood.
- oxdeltaxo, on 04/22/2009, -0/+16My parents always gave me flat orange pop. Not because it would ease the sickness but because it tasted better when you puked.
- rpgguy1o1, on 04/22/2009, -1/+13I agree with Ginger-Ale, but Canada Dry is the only option.
- mattrmcg, on 04/22/2009, -1/+11More Pedialyte please!
- jba68, on 04/22/2009, -0/+10lol bleh
- Beatmiser, on 04/22/2009, -1/+10Go Away! Baitin!
- Bovorik, on 04/22/2009, -1/+9Rofl, flat coke and lemonade? Sugary crap + bad stomach = good?
- gcnaddict, on 04/22/2009, -0/+7Cranberries, vinegar, etc. work too.
Just find really sour stuff and eat/drink it while this tablet is in effect. - nixfu, on 04/22/2009, -0/+7Ginger ale...because ginger is an old time proven stomach relief medicine.
But you have to make sure it has REAL ginger. - jsuther, on 04/22/2009, -0/+7ginger ale, but you have to look at the ingredients to make sure it actually has ginger in it.
- Corgana, on 04/22/2009, -0/+6I've tried these (the actual berries) It's a weird sensation to say the least, definitely worth $15 and having a few friends over to try it out.
- Smokeydabear, on 04/22/2009, -1/+7***** that, Vernors is the way.
- gcnaddict, on 04/22/2009, -1/+7If you want you (or your kid) to have sugary drinks and survive the bug:

Dissolve half of one tablet completely on the tongue and have a healthy glass (or two... or three) of pure lemon juice.
Just make sure you don't do too much. Lemon juice is an enamel killer. - OdinThor, on 04/22/2009, -0/+6A stomach bug meant Coke stirred flat, ginger ale, saltines and the day out of school. You would be watching The Price is Right and The Electric Company while laying on the couch with a bucket next to you. Even though you were sick as a dog, you were still happy because you weren't in school.
- s0nicfreak, on 04/22/2009, -2/+8Because high fructose corn syrup is not sugar.
- Rain12913, on 04/22/2009, -0/+5Damn you. I just spent $15 on those.
- Mothrog, on 04/22/2009, -0/+5The cocaine in the original version probably changed things a bit.
- gmiley, on 04/22/2009, -1/+6Not nearly as much as your comment.
- Scanner, on 04/22/2009, -0/+5Meh, depends I guess. I've had food poisioning twice over the last few years that was only calmed (after many trips to the kamode) by sipping coke. Tried water, gatorade, pedialite, milk (DONT) all were back up in less than 5 minutes. Coke calmed it down. Sure could have just been through the worst of it but the second time I started with coke and didn't yack again after. Whatever gets you through I guess.
- Smokeydabear, on 04/22/2009, -0/+5I beg to differ good sir. It is a good ale, but Vernors is better in flavor, fizz and overall quality.
- snapcase, on 04/22/2009, -0/+4*sigh* I too just ordered some. Kinda amazed I've never heard of these before.
A bit pricey ($20 with shipping), but damnit it sounds too cool to pass up. - ksgant, on 04/22/2009, -2/+6Gatorade. That always works for me. Mainly just so you don't dehydrate, which is the bigger threat.
But then again, not a doctor here also. It's just what I've always heard. When I was younger my mom always made me drink Pepsi, which always made it worse, so I believe this article. - protogenxl, on 04/22/2009, -0/+4The best way to make sure it's real Ginger Ale is to Brew Your Own
http://biology.clc.uc.edu/Fankhauser/Cheese/Ginger ... - jitterbits, on 04/22/2009, -0/+4Not every country allows their sodas to be full of corn sweeteners. Strangely enough, in many parts of the world, sugary still means with lots of real sugar.
- aduzik, on 04/22/2009, -0/+4It's got what kids crave!
- Ellipsys, on 04/22/2009, -0/+4You may have to go to a health/organic food store or asian mart to get it, but one of the very best things you can drink in the case of rehydration, is coconut water. Unlike coconut milk it contains no fat. Coconut water is harvested from young green coconuts, is clear to slightly cloudy, and contains more vitamins and electrolytes than man made sports drinks, with less sugar. You can buy it in one litre boxes (most of the brands harvested in latin america come in boxes) for around $4.00, certified organic.
- TheUngod, on 04/22/2009, -1/+5They're a fun gimmick. Might also be interesting to try to convince a girl to see the difference in taste when doing other things...you know, for science.
- aduzik, on 04/22/2009, -0/+4What's "couch syrup", and where can I get some?
- Skywise, on 04/22/2009, -0/+4Ironic given that Coke was originally sold as an upset stomach cure... (among other things).
- waydee, on 04/22/2009, -0/+3Coke in the UK uses sugar, not HFCS or whatever.
- Nizzy35, on 04/22/2009, -0/+3F that...ginger ale, campbells chicken noodle soup and grape flavor couch syrup cures ALL...how you think smallpox was all but eradicated?
- ism70605, on 04/22/2009, -1/+4sugary |shoŏgərē|
adjective
containing much sugar - Shakermaker, on 04/22/2009, -0/+3Lemon is an enamel killer? So is vomit!
- Skywise, on 04/22/2009, -0/+3I always thought it was syrup that was the stomach aide...
- Rain12913, on 04/22/2009, -0/+3Since I don't really see the appeal in drinking Vinegar even if it does taste like cotton candy juice, can you (or anyone who's tried these) recommend some other stuff to eat/drink after taking them?
So far I have Cranberries, Lemons, Lime, Grapefruit, and sour candies. - Elranzer, on 04/22/2009, -0/+3Dugg for Miracle Berries. They really work. Fun as hell to see people's reactions to lemon juice, etc the first time they try it.
- MattB123, on 04/22/2009, -0/+3Good advice. Obvious but good and apparently needed by some (who are probably the least likely to heed it).
- inactive, on 04/22/2009, -1/+4Diarrhea
- majortom1981, on 04/22/2009, -0/+3A blood doctor told me that I needed more elctrolytes and that gatorade was a great way to get them so you are right.
Just dont drink too much since it also has calories and sugar also. - emjaymj, on 04/22/2009, -1/+4That joke is older than the internet andersleet
- aaabbbsss, on 04/22/2009, -1/+440,0000 children? Damn!
- benderillo, on 04/22/2009, -0/+3Schweppes
- maryfromthebus, on 04/22/2009, -1/+4Lemonade always makes me vomit when i have a hangover.
- TheUngod, on 04/22/2009, -0/+2You had it good. I got warm flat DIET 7 up. It may have been better for me, but it tasted like puking in reverse anyway.
- blacklilyninja, on 04/22/2009, -0/+2warm ginger tea is best
- liuite, on 04/22/2009, -0/+2after its over, you should load up on probiotics which might have prevented it in the first place.
