- LeepII, on 09/03/2008, -11/+161How ***** stupid do you have to be to believe this article? Lets see, people have been getting arrested for hundreds of years, but only now start dropping like flies. Cops are getting away with murder and the retard that wrote this article is helping them.
- Crizack, on 09/03/2008, -2/+108Did Reuters and The Onion switch domains?
- anarcurt, on 09/03/2008, -4/+92Great. Another way for cops to get away with murder. "After a thorough internal investigation we have concluded that the detainee died from Peacekeepers Shock. No charges will be filed against our brave officers."
- ferrell, on 09/03/2008, -2/+74Yes, it's called *****-itis.
I hear its going around. - poidh, on 09/03/2008, -1/+58In other news, a new syndrome has been discovered in which men who have been beaten severely by police tend to become very unwell or even die. Before now, it has mystified researchers who simply thought that the men had "fallen down the stairs".
- magoghm, on 09/03/2008, -2/+56Somebody should do some research about the MSM's ***** syndrome.
- BionicPimp, on 09/03/2008, -2/+48is this some kind of joke? I already know the punchline... "He was shot in the back 47 times...worst case of suicide I've ever seen" --first officer on scene
- BGog, on 09/03/2008, -3/+39I think it is cute how the little scientist is trying to find out why they die because in his little world, the police would never mishandle anyone.
--Don't tase me bro-- - trespasser28, on 09/03/2008, -3/+31By this retarded logic everyone who went on a rollarcoaster, skydive, bungee jump etc etc etc etc would die from adrenaline.
Check their skulls for a nightstick shaped dent. - Brododium, on 09/03/2008, -3/+29"60 cases of sudden unexplained deaths in Spain following police detention."
"no previous history of cardiovascular disease."
It's Kira, you idiots... - thecosmicpope, on 09/03/2008, -2/+22As soon as this gets a name, watch the number of victims rocket. With no fault of the police force, of course.
- azneggrollz, on 09/03/2008, -0/+18"...and then he sprinkled some crack on his own face so that there would be no mysteries"
- AlienMushroom, on 09/03/2008, -0/+17Cuz cops didnt have tasers back then.
- tombkilla, on 09/03/2008, -0/+17Only in spain, where we make the inquisition extra tasty. Next on reuters, Mob bosses found to improve local economy...
- TonyTheTerrible, on 09/03/2008, -8/+24In other news, police brutality in 3rd world countries go mostly undocumented.
- poidh, on 09/03/2008, -1/+16Lol, you beat me to it.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -2/+17You mean death by billy club?
I'm surprised at reuters giving this crap attention. Especially after some of their own reporters died in US custody in Iraq under shady circumstances, others got off lightly with just a bit of torture. (Google it...)
This would be a real police-state precedent if this ***** starts to be accepted by the courts. The only consolation is that I don't live in the US. Phew! - loki49152, on 09/03/2008, -4/+18It's called copsmurderedyouitis.
- Sillywombat, on 09/03/2008, -2/+15Yep, its all true, just turn your eyes away from the bruises on the corpse, its post-mortem. All part of the syndrom.
- Murdats, on 09/03/2008, -1/+14so a different type of deadly adrenaline is realised when you are arrested?
- meinhookah, on 09/03/2008, -0/+13only if your skin is black or brown or you're gay or you're a drug user or you're poor or you express political beliefs that lay outside the mainstream or you just looked at the cop the wrong ***** way.
buried as ***** - LenBaird, on 09/03/2008, -0/+13Exactly my first thought. Either the person who found this has no common sense, or they got fed a theory by police looking to cover their asses.
- unitedkronos, on 09/03/2008, -2/+13Two letters, BS. I'm suprised Reuters even picked this up.
- chrisduser, on 09/03/2008, -0/+11I searched high and low but there was no link to The Onion.
What the *****. - Kyrgizion, on 09/03/2008, -2/+12BREAKING: Police force recruitment peaking! Army recruiters say they can't believe their well of brazen, brainless young cannon fodder has inexplicably dried up.
- kevin044, on 09/03/2008, -3/+13i've been arrested, several times... a few times for DUI, twice for B&E, once for public drunkenness in AUSTRIA of all places, and a few disorderlies... oh, and a few traffic warrants... the worst arrests were the warrants: those cops were just hoping for an excuse to bash a head in! seriously, either the cops are beating the ***** out of these guys (which is reasonable thinking) or these guys are just pussies that don't know how to handle wearing chrome bracelets for a short while. either way, i'd love to know how many of these suspects or "arrestees" were treated by the police in the new "humane" way of being subdued: ie, tasered, maced, sandbagged, shocked, or just generally beaten?
anyone hear about the kid in denville, NJ, shot 5 times by an officer who was kneeling on the passenger seat of his car 2 months ago? couldn't the officer have reached for his taser or mace rather than his service pistol before shooting the kid 5 times from less than 2 feet away??? when will the brutality end?
i feel like pacino in "dog day afternoon..." DIALO!!! DIALO!!!! - mickrussom, on 09/03/2008, -4/+13I think the Gestapo / Schutzstaffel and Einstazgruppen discovered this syndrome, or more or less perfected it.
Now that we have an oligarchy of oligarchies, a world-wide oligarchical collectivist totalitarian authoritarian autocratic police state, the hard work of the Gestapo is now documented and implemented by the jack booted thugs of the modern police state. Police are the linchpins in the ground war and assault against the free and libertarian people of the world. The police do not read or respect local constitutions and law, they are above law and care about nothing but pouncing on and playing with prey like an evil cat.
Police, history shows time and time again why we call autocracies POLICE states. You are the evil doers, you foment and create evil, and you are self described and in proactive above the law. The ratio of criminals harvested in the police state to innocents and those persecuted and prosecuted under corrupt laws is rising by the day.
POLICE, you are the destroyer of freedom, and are a group of uneducated thugs that are the tools of a terrorist world, national, state and local government that binds freedom and suppresses the free man.
The Police of the world should unite under the banner "Vae Victis" - Tarantulus, on 09/03/2008, -1/+10Since when is spain a third world country???
- Wakuko, on 09/03/2008, -0/+9It's called Taseritis
- Rudegar, on 09/03/2008, -0/+8do they freeze in the cops headlights?
- poidh, on 09/03/2008, -0/+8Ok. You get all the credit then.
- Iztikeit, on 09/03/2008, -3/+9Sudden death after opposing the government is next. But I do not see someone stressing out that badly about going to jail.
I have seen people tripping balls on 10 hits of LSD go to jail, and he did not die. - inactive, on 09/03/2008, -0/+6well, it is a similar stress for some people.
@murdats, yes – it comes from your omgkillmeadrenal gland - thegrantman, on 09/03/2008, -1/+7I've heard of this before.....it's called murder.
- mickrussom, on 09/03/2008, -1/+7Warning to thread; arcangelgabriel and his cabal of autocrats are admitted members of the police and are down-modding any comments critical of the police. Warning, he will not discuss the role of the Police in a modern police state, yet, he will anonymously down-moderate you. This is the tactics of the police state.
- depro9, on 09/03/2008, -1/+7Dying of internal bleeding is not a syndrome *****!
- Meocross, on 09/03/2008, -0/+5Sarcasm. Do you have it?

- passedoutghost, on 09/03/2008, -0/+5Holy *****, is it contagious?!
- mickrussom, on 09/03/2008, -3/+8If you are so good, why do you turn they other way when your police brothers in arms against the population break laws in the enforcement of law? The police of Nazi Germany stopped crime as well as perpetrating it. I reject and deny you this holier than thou defender of the peace. The police and the modern police state serve aggregated evil killing central governments, and local police in the modern era have done nothing but buttress the suppressor position. Did you ever read of the WW2 veterans clashing with police after returning from war? Its got to do with the Police's inability to prevent crime via deterrent, inability to fairly enforce the law (often taking the most extreme dragnet interpretation of law to arrest and CONSTANTLY undermine the 4th amendment in the USA) fairly, and massive and wide corruption.
I have yet to see a single policeman arrest Rove, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, most of the Governors of most States, or do anything to curtail the eyes-wide-shut criminal activity that clearly violates the constitution on a daily basis. Instead, we get a bent 4th amendment, police-state dragnets. Violent crime is a cleanup operation for you, mister Policeman. We barely have concealed carry capability to defend ourselves. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. I don't want you to clean my body up, Mister Policeman, I want the right to defend myself and I want to not live in a Police state.
If you are a detective, I have respect for investigating and convicting those responsible for crime. But in the era of police constantly being found to falsify evidence, and with the Supreme Court Ruling of Castle Rock v Gonzales, we might be better off without Police that are effectively modern military and the existence of this military force is a violation of Posse Comitatus. This isn't the local beat cop that breaks up brawls or solves a violent crime. This is about being enforcers of a Police state, and the Police have been awful quiet as the USA devolves into a authoritarian, autocratic regime that would make the Founders of this nation SICK to the STOMACH, and the Police stand idly by asking for gratitude and respect and a 14th amendment violating more-rights-than-the average-citizen.
The Police here are helping construct the end of America. This would be similar to those Roman Prefects that sat around as the Roman Empire self destructed in the 300s. In fact, a police force close to the emperor in Rome was world-renown for being corrupt to the bone, often being responsible for deposing and propping up leaders at their whim.
Police have a long and sordid history being the strong arm enforcers of governments tat simply terrorize and tax a subject-populace.
Police motto, "Vae Victus", to the public at large; a public service announcement: Castle Rock v. Gonzales says the police are under no legal obligation to protect you from danger. A lady died asking the police to enforce an existing restraining order.

Yes, but it isn't some brand new syndrome where people suddenly die for no reason in police custody.

Phase two of the brainwashing, compare the young men to wild animals, depersonalizing them. - mickrussom, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4LenBaird ;
What the Police don't seem to get, and I say the same as you, "thanks for cleaning up the true-vermin," but the good that they do is so much more outdone by the inaction and the corruption and implementation of illegals laws and the ability to operate extra-judicially.
The police are more and more hated by all the friends I have. We fear them, we don't respect them, and we know they will always try to throw the book at us even though the taxpayers pay them to protect the peace, not persecute at the behest of a corrupt government.
I don't think many of them even read the constitution. They should know it and be able to recite it by heart. Its out of control. - WoollyMittens, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4Yeah... it's called the "tasered to death by sadists" syndrome.
- Haroshia, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4Just as planned...
- zer0nix, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4because it is published by ***** reuters -which gives one pause.
