- doublehead, on 12/17/2007, -10/+53A lot of things will be fixed via stem cell therapy once we get over the ridiculous moral hurdles.
- oneoverzero, on 12/17/2007, -0/+33All jokes aside, this will definitely help the self esteem of breast cancer survivors, which is something too often ignored.
- nnnr, on 12/17/2007, -1/+34I approve, we need good looking boobs.
- Abominous, on 12/17/2007, -0/+27Yep, the problem is the uneducated masses hear "stem cells" and automatically go "ZOMG THINK OF TEH CHILDRENZ!!1eleven!!"
There are other stem cells in the body that can be utilized besides embryonic. - Barman, on 12/17/2007, -4/+28God bless science!
- barktwiggs, on 12/17/2007, -0/+19Those moral hurdles were neither her nor there. The article talked about harvesting stem cells already present in adipose tissue, not extracting it from unborn embryos.
- saska, on 12/17/2007, -2/+14Scientist: "We may be able to use stem cells to halt and even reverse the advance of Alzheimer's disease."
Republican: "Sorry, but those people have already lived full lives. We must not endanger the future of the unborn children!"
Scientist: "We may also be able to use stem cells to restore the breasts of women who have had partial mastectomies."
Republican: "How do you spell the name of the organization I'm going to propose a federal grant for?"
(Yes, I understand the difference scientifically. Do you?) - ellvis, on 12/17/2007, -1/+10hooray for boobies
- iffypop, on 12/17/2007, -3/+11Porn is the early adopter on all great tech breakthroughs
- wipis, on 12/17/2007, -0/+6Next: Replacing mens balls.
- barktwiggs, on 12/17/2007, -1/+7You're right, though the knee-jerk reaction happens on both sides of the issue.
- Mononuclear, on 12/17/2007, -1/+7repairing the breasts of people with breast cancer is hardly porn.
- l0rdn1k0n, on 12/17/2007, -0/+5I can see the lolcats now:
"Im in ur titz, fixing ur lumps" - Bega, on 12/17/2007, -0/+5yay science!
- GamerVer05, on 12/17/2007, -0/+5Taxpayer- "Why are we using all this government money for stem cell research are there real tangible uses?"
Government- "Indubitably, boobies." - inactive, on 12/17/2007, -0/+4...game over... give these people the nobel peace prize
- TheBigSquid, on 12/17/2007, -1/+5Wow, that's inaccurate. You know damn well Republicans prefer male prostitutes and men's room sex.
- N256, on 12/17/2007, -0/+4What a great use of stem cells.
- inactive, on 12/17/2007, -0/+4I predict penile enlargement stem cells in 2 years, and Bioshock, IRL, in 5.
- penguinshome, on 12/17/2007, -1/+4To go from a size A to size C would be pretty cool. I'd do it if they got it worked out in the next few years.
- offwithyourtv, on 12/17/2007, -0/+3You make it sound a bit too trivial. There is a big difference between a "boob job" and corrective surgery for a cancer survivor.
- LeeSoong, on 12/17/2007, -0/+3Bummer.
Good thing abortion guarantees the birth of only loved children wanted by their parents.
Feel free to make choices about what you do with your body,
and let the women make their choices about their body. - Mononuclear, on 12/17/2007, -1/+3you want to massage the breasts of people with mastectomies?
- CeeJayDK, on 12/17/2007, -0/+2I believe that was the point.
- ArchAngel21x, on 12/17/2007, -1/+3Now this is a cause I am willing to donate some money to!
- Filter, on 12/17/2007, -0/+2Please note, this is about adult stem cells and not embryonic stem cells.
- KingGorilla, on 12/17/2007, -0/+2depends how you think about it. God made man. Man made science. God made science! see it works! sorta
- offwithyourtv, on 12/17/2007, -0/+2There are enough babies waiting to be adopted that no one seems to want. It's best not to make this unfortunate population even larger. If you're not going to go adopt a few yourself, it's in your best interest not to use this argument.
- blitzer, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1You just arent looking hard enough
- dvavasour, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1This is an example of the great potential for therapies based on ADULT stem cells. The result for therapies derived from EMBRYONIC stem cells so far is, er, zero.
The Vatican has no problem with therapies derived from adult stem cells, so I don't see why anyone else should. - LeeSoong, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1So, now we see what the future holds for new stem cell research:
Great breakthroughs for "Male Enhancement."
The federal government will pass a new law:
11.9" is the legal limit for men,
any longer and the stem cells turn into a foot. - mess4u, on 12/21/2007, -0/+1Today Science is getting to progress. Today Our Surgeons are able to reshape your body. what ever part of your body they can give it good shape.

http://www.the-dermatology-centre.co.uk/ - teaBagger, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1Finally a use of this new technology to benefit all of mankind...
- CeeJayDK, on 12/22/2007, -0/+1You don't have to kill babies to harvest stem cells .. and part of the reason why stem cell research have not yet produced a viable cure is that the field is fairly new and misguided opinion of ethics is holding back the research.
- LeeSoong, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Yes, a ''Brave New World'' where the government can control all reproduction rights.

Great Idea! - hulez, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1no, but if you eat lots of foodzor i garenteezor that you will get teh boobies you seekzxor
- ArkRaider1936, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1Cool. Hopefully this leads to women, instead of getting boob jobs, using stem cells to help shape their breasts using the perfect breast ratio:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/new ...
Also, that Patrick Mallucci sounds like he had a pretty nice job - hulez, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1that made me wanna throw up, and i was just about to have lunch
- xerexes1, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1They have breast cancer?
- ihate2reg4u, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1Actually, I AM pro-choice. I was just pointing out how stupid it is that the public has to have this whole hissy-fit over the issue of "the sanctity of human life" for EACH AND EVERY advance. Once to get used to abortion, once to get used to in vitro, once more for curing diseases via embryonic stem cells, once more for corrective cosmetic surgery like this (I know THESE stem cells weren't embryonic), and another for just plain cosmetic surgery.
It reminds me of the problem some have with genetically engineering pigs to produce human compatible organs. "What right to we have to use these animals for our purposes?," they say and then proceed to eat five strips of bacon the next day for breakfast.
With Roe V. Wade we already rejected the concept that life begins at conception, and now women can have abortions for any reason whatsoever, no questions asked. It's ridiculous that this whole battle has to be fought again, and again, and again. How trivial, or strange, or weird the reason for destroying an embryo is irrelevant if a full-blown fetus is already considered a non-person. Just like it doesn't matter if some people get queasy over the idea of hybrid pigs for organ transplant. Animals are already considered non-persons and are routinely slaughtered for a variety of frivolous uses, to all of a sudden raise concerns over the issue of whether we have the right to do with them as we please *now* is ridiculous. It's all because some see this as “new-fangled, crazy mad scientist” science that requires basic matters of law that have already been settled to be revisited again this time with “bioethics” in mind. How can embryonic stem cell use present bioethics challenges that abortion, which is already legal, does not? It makes no sense. - neuromachine, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1You should have told the doctors that cats can repair breasts too. It could've saved everyone some money.
- Dawnofanewday, on 12/21/2007, -1/+1This is speculative. Stem cells have been in use and not proven themselves a viable cure for anything, but, hey! let's kill babies and say they are saving adults!
- DivisibleByZero, on 12/17/2007, -1/+1Count through all the comments on the thread. Currently, I don't see a signle knee-jerk reaction in opposition to "stem cells", but I see quite a few in favor of them.
- houndeyex, on 12/17/2007, -3/+3Iffypop speaks the truth.
- rinarina99, on 04/01/2009, -0/+0are they using the stem cell from their own liposuction fat or from somebody else fat..??
http://liposuctionforman.com/liposuction-price-is- ... - eklife, on 12/17/2007, -0/+0this is indeed, good news
- gds923, on 12/17/2007, -0/+0Hooray for stem cells!
- MonarchWastxD, on 12/17/2007, -1/+1Before people go ***** over morals of dead foetuses or foetii or whatever, remember, scientists now have a way to create them artificially without using embryos. So there you go. Can't complain now.
