- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -5/+104i have been studying it for 20 years now....works
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -1/+64Because oh my god, the euphoria is such a horrific thing.
Seriously submitter, do settle down about that. For those of us who use pot medicinally (see my reply about using it to treat my glaucoma elsewhere on Digg), the euphoria is often *part of the treatement*.
I know, I sound like a hippie who just wants pot to be legal so I can smoke it all the time, right?
Here's my answer to that: I've been using pot to treat my glaucoma for six years now, and it's been illegal every single minute of those six years. I have never once considered not using it because it's illegal. It being legal or illegal has absolutely no affect at all on whether or not I'm going to use it to treat my condition.
And the euphoria part helps quite a lot with the depressing aspects of slowly going blind, thanks. It also helps my mother feel a bit better about sitting in a wheelchair because of her post polio syndrome, the tremendous pain of which she treats with pot. And it helped an old friend manage to enjoy food during chemotherapy and gave him something to look forward to besides his imminent death.
Make no mistake--medicine is supposed to make you *feel better*, and theres nothing wrong with getting a little high as part of the cure. - EASwanson, on 06/30/2008, -2/+50smoking weed is my way of "Going Green"
- MarkCiccone, on 06/30/2008, -3/+50I think that even though this chemical can be found elsewhere not just weed is not the point. The point is that weed is a scheduled one drug which says there is absolutely no medical value for the drugs listed on it. Clearly it DOES have medical value, so it should not be scheduled so high.
Haha high. - chrissku, on 06/30/2008, -3/+34Legalize! Legalize! Legalize!
Legalize marijuana already. - justinbonnet, on 06/30/2008, -2/+32I actually cured my migraine last night with 2 bowls of Dr.Jane.
- Disease, on 06/30/2008, -1/+25It's funny how something that makes you feel better is illegal and something that makes you feel terrible the day after such as alcohol is legal.
- kanabiis, on 06/30/2008, -1/+22A- *****- men....
A close friend of mine died of Pancreatic cancer earlier this year. For those that dont know, Pancreatic cancer is the one cancer you absolutely do not want. It has the highest mortality rate of all cancers and the prognosis to death rate is incredible, most people are given less then a year to live, and then its down hill as the body quickly starts to shut down.
Of all the dozen or so medications he was on in his end days, nothing soothed him more and made him feel better then smoking weed.
His last 2 weeks or so unfortunately he was so sickly and weak that he could no longer smoke, and the last time I saw him, 2 days before he died, he said, if there was one last thing I could do, sex aside, it would be to smoke a joint.
The fact that my friend was a federal criminal on his death bed, for smoking died up plant just leaves me at a loss for any words. - GanjaGirl, on 06/30/2008, -2/+20Looks like some dank in the pic.
- vexingmodstwo, on 06/30/2008, -1/+16But it's a lot cooler when it is...
- Pronoiac, on 06/30/2008, -2/+15Well THANK GOD they finally discovered to suppress that horrible side effect euphoria! There's tons of proof and science behind it but half-assed articles like these hurt more than help.
Buried. - grungegbunny, on 06/30/2008, -4/+16That takes away the fun.
- rugger, on 06/30/2008, -9/+19From what I garner from the article, the fact that beta-caryophyllene is found in marijuana is merely coincidental. Beta-caryophyllene is cheap, found in many foods naturally, and is already available for sale online. In other words, you can get it's benefits without ever touching marijuana.
- Exclaminator, on 06/30/2008, -1/+11"and does not get people high"
worthless. - tnoy, on 06/30/2008, -1/+11You're likely to find the benefits of marijuana synthesized and put into a pill form before it gets legalized.
- chrissku, on 06/30/2008, -1/+11mmmmmmmmmmmm.............the picture.
- mklopez, on 06/30/2008, -1/+11You're right, I realized the title was lam a few minutes after submitting it... hey digg, how about a few minutes to edit the title/description after submission? ... you know, like in the comments?
- SoyChemist, on 06/30/2008, -3/+12Beta-caryophyllene is a major constituent of marijuana, whereas it is found in much lower amounts elsewhere.
- zbeast, on 06/30/2008, -1/+10THC is a wonderful sleep aid...
Some would say drink warm milk but being that I have trouble with milk
thats not an option. - marx2k, on 06/30/2008, -2/+11When you're copy/pasting from an anti-drug propaganda site, take care to either remove the numerals numerating the list or include all of them. Or.. here's an original thought... have an original thought! Also, if any of the 'facts' you posted are true, most of them are nullified by eating it or vaporizing it.
- mordea, on 06/30/2008, -11/+20And it can be found elsewhere as well; but this is another pro-marijuana post, so all that will matter is marijuana.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -3/+12Vaginas can be found elsewhere too, like sheep, but most prefer human women for the same effect. See where I'm going with this?
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -1/+9indeed. marijuana is majic medicine
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -5/+13You and your high horse don't mind if I stop my glaucoma from making me blind with a little weed a few times a week, do you?
- dunktim, on 06/30/2008, -2/+10My latest study proves that it tastes great too!
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -1/+8What's wrong with a bit of euphoria? Euphoria for everyone!!!
- PeTeRZz, on 06/30/2008, -2/+9Yup: http://showthemthis.com/info.php
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -1/+8As someone who actually has glaucoma, allow me to address this:
I have tried most of the drugs available for my type of Glaucoma. At least one of the following two things were always the case:
1. the side effects were absolutely not tolerable
2. it didn't work as well as pot
Here are a few examples:
All legal glaucoma medications that I can take carry a risk of bacterial keratitis. One of them turns your eyes brown (if theyre not already), makes your eyelashes wildly thick and long, and causes irritation on the corneal surface. Another one gives me conjunctivitis every time I use it. A third raises my blood pressure dangerously. And then there are the two for which DEATH is a rare--but known side effect.
Thanks, but I'll take my chances with a vaporizer and some good pure sativa if its all the same to you. - JDoms, on 06/30/2008, -0/+7i didn't say my friends are smart
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -0/+6It was stupid the first time you said it too.
- tillerman00, on 06/30/2008, -0/+6Legalize or don't legalize, I'm still gonna smoke it.
- majikmixx, on 06/30/2008, -1/+71600x1200 Wallpaper size of the thumbnail
http://flickr.com/photos/esqenzo/890765182/sizes/o ... - Notasheeple, on 06/30/2008, -0/+6Too funny. He gets his info. from the very people that are working to keep it an arrestable substance. So if you don't smoke, then what's your excuse for being a total stooge? Were you just born with less brain cells to start out with or what?
- Zaxcomp, on 06/30/2008, -1/+7Can you confirm this with a medical study? I would be very intrigued considering all studies I have had to explicate have shown negligible to increased neural functioning, regulation, and growth.
- SiRWhxr, on 06/30/2008, -1/+7best medicine i know of
- JDoms, on 06/30/2008, -1/+7what's the fun without the euphoria / interference with the central nervous system?
- fr3ddie, on 06/30/2008, -3/+9Personally... I like to smoke the expensive marijuana... the kind that tastes so good... the fragrance is so wonderful and unique... and the buzz is very much enjoyable... However... the other low quality type of "shwag" weed... is good for headaches only ;}~
The pictured nugget looks like fine quality. - dafragsta, on 06/30/2008, -0/+5The nice thing about high school girls...
- samuelmcm, on 06/30/2008, -1/+6legitalizeit!
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -1/+6If we would just legalize it already we wouldn't have to spend all this money on all this research that's needed to convince the ignorant. I know research is important but I think there's been enough done at this point to start accepting the usage of marijuana.
- fredJdukes, on 06/30/2008, -0/+5Why would you smoke it? It's in pill form.
- Pake, on 06/30/2008, -0/+4Beta-caryophyllene is also found in oregano, cinnamon, ginger, and other herbs in much higher concentration than marijuana. So, if you honestly care that much about it, maybe you should be smoking oregano, which is probably safer anyways.
- Foenetik, on 06/30/2008, -1/+5I'll take my beta-caryophyllene with euphoria thank you very much.
- brawltimore, on 06/30/2008, -0/+4shall we ban the internet right now because i should be studying as i type this.
your personal issue with moderation is not my problem. - Fatcheeseguy, on 06/30/2008, -1/+5Well marijuana is definitely not a weak.... medicine... if you know where to look. (:
- TheSexyGeek, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4And your point is. . . .
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -0/+4What's the fun in that?
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -1/+5But I watched "refer madness" it said weed is bad.
/S - EASwanson, on 06/30/2008, -1/+5You act like smoking a joint is the only way of getting high. You can eat thc products or you can smoke out of devices that use water as a filter for of the larger particles such as a bong. 4 to 10 times more harmful? If this is an actual study wouldn't they have a more exact number? And you act like people who smoke pot smoke more material in a day then a person who smokes cigs. Last time I checked some people who smoke cigs can get up to a pack or two a day.
- thePhallex, on 06/30/2008, -1/+5When has anyone gotten lung cancer from marijuana? Can you prove this assumption?
