- GaltShrugged, on 05/31/2009, -31/+577Thank you for this article. New age hippy ***** is a religion. Her anti-vac support of Jenny McCarthy makes me ***** sick.
- charlietuna, on 06/01/2009, -4/+464"inject estrogen directly into her vagina"
WTF ? - borez, on 06/01/2009, -8/+315Anybody taking health advice from a chat show host, no matter how famous she is, seriously needs their brains examining. Period.
- JigoroKano, on 06/01/2009, -13/+280Oprah is a cancer on reason.
- Sublex, on 06/01/2009, -5/+219"We have the right to demand a better quality of life for ourselves," she said. "And that's what doctors have got to learn to start respecting."
So what, Oprah? You think your doctors are trying to harm you? - spartancus, on 06/01/2009, -5/+187Oprah's already a pseudo-religion. Anything she says is passed on as truth by her followers. And with her own show broadcast publicly, she could be a greater threat to humanity than Scientology. Anonymous should start paying closer attention. It can't end with just over 9000 penises.
- _skin_, on 06/01/2009, -6/+175The funny thing is Suzanne, your estrogen is on my dick.
- Yazilliclick, on 06/01/2009, -4/+158It still surprises me to this day that so many people can take Oprah seriously about any sugestion life wise or health wise. I mean good grief she balooons up and down weight wise like clockwork making it pretty damn obvious that even with all her money for personal trainers, gyms, chefs etc... that she doesn't have the know how or will power to run her own life let alone give advice to others.
- lawndancer, on 05/31/2009, -3/+148I think Oprah is in serious need of a science/public health advisor...
- inactive, on 06/01/2009, -0/+128Her weight is carefully engineered to follow a careful formula that allows her to bulk up so fat housewives can relate to here, then at the right moment, trim down so she can sell yet another diet book.
- twishart, on 06/01/2009, -2/+130I read until I got to the point where Oprah said she started the same treatment as Somers'. Then, the mental image hit of Oprah injecting things into her vagina. I shuddered, and closed the browser. I think I'm done with the internet for today, thanks.
- aedas, on 06/01/2009, -1/+97Intelligence and expertise tends to scare off ignorant people.
- proliance, on 06/01/2009, -4/+98Oprah: Putting the "o" in lol since 1986.
- jlafleur, on 06/01/2009, -9/+97Damn right! Vaccinate. Eat right. Exercise. It's pretty easy.
- marmotjmarmot, on 06/01/2009, -3/+75I got so angry after she was pitching Jenny McCarthy's line of crap, I could not believe it. As powerful as the 'Oprah' effect is on everything she shills to her audience, I thought maybe she has a responsibility to make sure that what is being told is true, and not against proven facts, and not basically harmful. Now I think I see the big picture; she's thinning the herd. Anyone who honestly thinks that rubbing crystals on your cooch cures, or prevents cancer...sorry its harsh, but you really shouldn't be breeding anyway. Likewise if you go to a doctor who uses ***** TAROT CARDS....
- skintigh, on 06/01/2009, -0/+66I get all my relationship advice from a multi-billionaire who hasn't found anyone to marry her in 45 years.
- pgoetz, on 06/01/2009, -4/+66"I agree with everything except the vaccinate."
And this is why diseases like Whooping Cough are currently making a big come back. - mlvassallo, on 06/01/2009, -7/+68I at least respected Oprah as a black woman who made her own mark on society and an entrepreneur who does extensive charity work, but the fact that she supports Jenny McCarthy and her quack Doctor friend is something I just can't sit with. Denying Autism as a spectrum social disorder and claiming it is something that can be cured with love and avoiding vaccines is starting to reach the level of denying the Holocaust with me. It is a tragic and sick delusion.
- shinyplastic, on 06/01/2009, -1/+58where's trey parker when you need him?
- inactive, on 06/01/2009, -0/+56Imagine Suzanne and Oprah naked, together in a bathroom, sharing a needle, maybe helping inject each other.
Afterward spooning together under the sheets, Oprahs hot breath on Suzannes neck, their busoms swollen with anticipation.
That oughta keep you off the net for a week or two.
- lisaawesome, on 06/01/2009, -3/+58That made me and my vagina cringe in horror. Dear lord no.
- Chompy, on 06/01/2009, -2/+57I don't have a vagina, and yet it still cringed.
- Samohtneas, on 06/01/2009, -3/+57What a nutjob. "I'm so proud you followed your mommy instinct" is the creepiest ***** thing I will hear all day. No, seriously. If someone around me said that to someone who isn't 3, I'd be worried. And I am. Is there some sort of movement against logic or intelligence today?
- Smoko, on 06/01/2009, -0/+51Boy I bet you feel silly now!
- HallenbeckJoe, on 06/01/2009, -6/+55OVER 9000 PENISES!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7liYfhRgXGk - flip2trip, on 06/01/2009, -7/+56This doesn't surprise me coming from Oprah. She is nothing but a relativist in all areas of her life now, which is why she seems to make the claim Suzanne Somers opinion is just as valid as those of medical professionals.
- inactive, on 06/01/2009, -0/+47Ummm... actually, according to the article:
"Hormone therapy can increase a woman's risk of heart attacks, strokes, blood clots and cancer."
That kind of throws the whole "as long is it makes them feel better, it's okay" mentality out the window. - breadfred, on 06/01/2009, -3/+44Raynar, than please listen to scientists. Independent ones. The ones that do not try to make you take their OWN alternatives. Or try to sell their books or public persona. In other words, listen to people who have studied medicine and science.
- dazparkour, on 06/01/2009, -1/+41The Placebo effect is limited in what it can accomplish -
I bet the price tag does not justify itself either. - DBeta, on 06/01/2009, -1/+41Raynar: Ask a medical Doctor who doesn't give vaccines, they will tell you to give your kids vaccines as well. They have a solid medical purpose and not vaccinating your children endangers not only them, but also children who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons. The children that can't be vaccinated are most likely already sick, and if your children infect them with one of the many things vaccines could prevent, it will likely kill them. Do you want to kill children? No? Then vaccinate your kids.
- inactive, on 06/01/2009, -3/+42How about political advice. Or financial?
- Yazilliclick, on 06/01/2009, -0/+37She doesn't have paranoia. All she's doing is garnering more ratings by trying to make her audience feel smarter and more powerful than the doctors actually trained on this stuff.
Honestly look at practically all her shows. She long ago learned the secret recipe which gets her the big viewership and that's to make your audience feel powerful and better about themselves even if it's not justified or to their detrement. If they feel better watching your show they'll tune in again. - ricksite, on 06/01/2009, -3/+39Maybe you are thinking of old school hippies. New school hippies are different. They claim to understand the body in ways that scientists and doctors don't. It isn't all natural as one would imagine. That is where the '*****' comes into play.
- erig, on 06/01/2009, -1/+35*tumbleweed rolls by*
- inactive, on 06/01/2009, -0/+33Agreed. I had to read that twice to be sure it said what I thought it said.
Next Up; 'Susan Summers, reaching a new high on the list of Hollywood nut-jobs.' - cfuse, on 06/01/2009, -1/+33There is one thing that forgives all sins in America: wealth. She has respect because she's ***** rich.
Paris Hilton and Donald Trump are respected in the same way - when as people they are probably as valuable as a pound of donkey crap. - shinyplastic, on 06/01/2009, -1/+33my doctor always said, "you want to treat your cancer, not season it".
enjoy your salt water and oils. - dipdog21, on 06/01/2009, -3/+35The vast majority of Oprah's fans are women... Women, are you really this gullible?!
- GreatSunJester, on 06/01/2009, -0/+32.......bleach.....bleach..... oh god, someone get me bleach for my brain......
- Bulletbillx, on 06/01/2009, -1/+31Does she have paranoia? I think so.
- FLarsen, on 06/01/2009, -2/+30Don't worry, she has begun a new treatment consisting of over 9000 daily supplements to fix that.
- silfiriel, on 06/01/2009, -7/+35I never liked Oprah show, only seen two or three episodes and they were all cranked up with "in line" advertising and staged not even funny jokes, but somehow everybody was laughing. It was disgraceful to say the least. I just assumed the rest of the show was like that and it turns out I was right.
She is doing it for the money, if not she clearly lost it., and believe me when I say that people can never get enough money. - cfuse, on 06/01/2009, -0/+27You are going to Hell, you know that don't you? Well played.
- Sublex, on 06/01/2009, -1/+28"OMG! Newsweeks Pwns Oprah"?
You really think that's a better title? - Sheethappens, on 06/01/2009, -17/+43I am probably going to get negatively Dugg to Hell for this comment but nonetheless:
I watched her show for around a year as I work for myself and often would turn the TV on when I got home at the time the show was on. It wasnt my intention to watch it per se but some of the stories mildly interested me and I ended up falling into the habit of getting something to eat and a coffee and sitting there for a break while that show happened to be on TV. What I noticed, over that time, was strange. At first I just thought I was wrong and couldnt believe it but my job entails seeing people in their homes and sometimes they would have Oprah's show on when I was there and sometimes have recorded it to watch later and be watching it then. Nearly every person, when I made this comment, agreed with me. I put forward that Oprah shows black Americans as noble and struggling against oppression - as is truly the case here and there no doubt - and showed a preponderance of white Americans who WERE really nothing more than gutter trash. Eg, if 1% of Americans can truly be said to be redneck gutter trash, she found that 1% and used it. The notable exceptions to this rule seemed to be when it involved famous white Americans and white children who she portrayed as they really were.
So the impression I got from watching that show is that America is full of white idiots and oppressed black people. I know it isnt true for one moment but that is the impression her show left me with. Feeling that this was just ME and wasnt what other people saw, I asked other people when I noted they watched the show and sure enough, that was the impression of other people, too. Needless to say I decided I could do without that sort of crap and stopped watching her show. I didnt let it quite go at that, though. I did email her show and ask why the show is like that. Obviously I expected a reply even though I knew she must get millions of emails. I tried from different addresses and got no reply at all.
So am I wrong thinking that is what the show is portraying? I like to think I am wrong. I cant HONESTLY believe a woman of her stature in USA is truly like that but I cant deny that which I have seen with my own eyes, either. - milarepa, on 06/01/2009, -1/+26The Secret is the very worst form of spiritual materialism, and it perfectly encapsulates what is wrong with the world. It's no wonder it became a Mega-Ultra Bestseller.

- inactive, on 06/01/2009, -4/+27Oprah should realize how many stupid women are out there that listen to the crap on her show. This is going to end lives and they're on Oprah's hands.
- CressCrowbits, on 06/01/2009, -3/+26"don't believe it ? look at any hollywood celebrity over 50, stalone harrison ford ? so many females"
I'd have thought that has a lot to do with the expertise of their plastic surgeons than any hokey dietary supplements they take. -
