- claybird, on 10/10/2007, -0/+96wait..wait... anything that says i need to spend less time on my computer must be blasphemy...
- thebellmaster1x, on 10/10/2007, -0/+53Your computer is powered by a bicycle pump too? Thank God, I thought I just had an old computer.
- euphemizeme, on 10/10/2007, -0/+51I think it might have to do with what you're doing on the Internet. When I'm browsing the net right before bed I tend to work up quite a sweat... so maybe all that vigorous pumping is responsible for feeling tired?
- AugustZephyr, on 10/10/2007, -1/+40I am reading this at 11:25pm just before I head to bed. oops.
- TH3W1R3D, on 10/10/2007, -0/+39What do they expect me to do? Read a book?!
- smurf22, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27Burry this! All we need is more caffeine and sugar!
- tuxidomasx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23i wish i could use the internet IN my sleep
pr0n would be surreal - Phyltre, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22Captain Obvious has saved the day by ruining this joke!
- SmackMyMac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16I'm doomed to a life of sleeplessness then. Time to code :-)
- fourzerofour, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15wow..
- lowerlogic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14ironic how i read this on my laptop as i lie in bed about to go to sleep
- Bricks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Whew. and I thought it was my crippling addiction to caffeine that made me feel tired all the time.
- afredus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Anybody else regularly going to sleep after 3AM?
- L4WL3RS34L, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11What else are you supposed to do at night?
- ani625, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Digg IS foreplay
- Phyltre, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I find that reading a book before bed is a very good way to wind down. When the words stop making sense, close your eyes and fall asleep.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Tonight you digg in HELL.
- 11Heather, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Try tell this to your boss when progressing in your job demands the extra hours. Plus what does this say for social media?
- MarkOfTheDead, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Oh damn you have an OLPC? I want one.
- Phyltre, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Yes. Logically, this article leaves out the important step of never sleeping, then just staying on the computer instead. That way you can't say you're getting too little sleep because no sleep isn't little sleep.
The internet solves all problems. - Phyltre, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6It's actually very logical. We assume that sleep helps us process the events of the day. Because internet usage is usually a brain-intensive activity, it makes sense that you would need more sleep-time to process all the data you accumulate from the internet that day. ...Honestly, I can't remember what learning was like without the internet...
- zmjone2992, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4church... not so much
- zmjone2992, on 10/10/2007, -0/+45:30 usually
- shawnanigans, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This story was made popular at 11:15. Well I guess it's nice to know why I'm tired but I'm not giving up Digg to not be tired.
- SonicAD, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I went to bed at 7am yesterday... and during the summer a few years back I was regularly going to bed around 6. (Couldn't stop playing Football Manager!)
- Gatesophile, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I always fall asleep with my TV on. Guess I am just screwed then.
- L4WL3RS34L, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I used to go on the internet 5 minutes before sleeping everyday. I had a hard time sleeping and I thought it was just minor insomnia. Later I found an interesting book, and started reading it before going to bed for about 15 minutes. I actually often fell asleep 10 minutes of reading the book. I was amazed at how much getting off the internet and doing something else that doesn't involve electricity improved my sleep. The glow of the monitor and TV also burns into your eyes when you're sleeping, so you never want to sleep right after, you should usually wait 15-20 minutes.
- RobotKing, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Oh don't you worry. I make sure I get enough sleep. If my back isn't hurting and sore then I haven't slept enough.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2just masturbate before u go to sleep and youll be fine
- loneraven, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Bah... I fall asleep easier watching TV, and I feel fine waking up early to do my morning run.
- SBeckstrand, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2i think i just got dumber after reading that :(
IM GOING TO SLEEP - smurf88, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3That was even worse than what firefly said.
- Speed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Wooooooooosh! Hear that? That's the sound of the joke going WAY over your head
- purplehaze420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Don't you people have jobs??? When i'm waking up at 7 goin to bed at 3 is rough. sometimes though.
- wasd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yeah... But being on my computer is what makes me tired... I mean wtf!?
- antdude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Heh, for me I fall asleep easily when reading books/magazines/etc.
- avisotin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Since when is the data on the Internet actually worthy of "data processing time"? I can ignore an idiotic on dig the instant I see it.
- RavagesOfTime, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The best and only good reason I've heard to get off the Internet in ages. Dugg.
- Phyltre, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Your argument would make sense if you spend all your internet time ignoring "idiotics" on Digg.
- OneAndOnlySnob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Aw man :( I always take a quick look at my RSS feeds before putting a DVD on my TV that I can nod off to.
- qwertylicious, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This is MADNESS!
- duzytata, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I did all summer, but I start school tomorrow. 6 am wake up. Not good for me.
- dukeochutney, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1buried for lack of hard evidence. surveys do not work. there isn't study in the amount of REM sleep with persons who have done heavy electronic activity or not. just 'how they feel' which be could affected by any number of other causes. bullocks
- pinfu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The article says that if you feel sleepy, the more you use the internet, the more likely you might list it as the cause of you feeling sleepy. Slightly inaccurate.
- noumuon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1really, ted, that was the joke.
- maddendude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Pssh, i coulda told you that...
- noumuon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1interesting, because if i'm not listening to music i usually fall asleep watching the simpsons or futurama or some such cartoon. i can certainly say that i never have a problem sleeping.
- Speed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wish I read this when it was still upcoming, maybe it wouldn't have been too late then...
- armandgunerio, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1ppl really need scientists to confirm this? It's like I'm hearing the genepool cheering...
- failsoft, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1you will have to wait until web 3.0
