I can hardly believe the sheer ineptitude on the mother's part, to go as far as cover the baby in chocolate to hide his wounds? That's low, that's extremely low. Given the baby's circumstances, his life (had it been allowed to continue) would have been a complete hell, and it can be argued that while babies shouldn't merely killed off because of inconvenience, but the end of his life is the end of all the pain and suffering he had to endure.
The social workers should all be reprimanded heavily.

I'm not sure how it is in other parts of the world but in Australia you essentially get paid to have a baby: the "baby bonus" aka the "plasma payout". What it means is we see a surge in welfare-dependents having children purely to cash the check, spend it on TVs, booze, cigarettes and drugs, then proceed to ignore the child or worse. You see it all the time at train stations: people who shouldn't be allowed to have dogs, let alone children, pushing prams while drinking bottles from paperbags, hurling abuse at anyone who even looks in their direction. The worst part is, these kids will just grow up to follow the same path. It's really saddening.

I am going to go home and hug and kiss every single one and make completely sure that they KNOW deep down that they are loved and will always be loved.

Cut off an arm, do a nice public lynching and then a life of grueling labor for the good of the public. No mercy for ***** like those. Just sitting around in a nice comfy prison doing nothing and living off of tax payer's money is not the punishment those sickos deserve.
