- eigenweasel, on 07/08/2009, -3/+14Pussy. Next question.
- kinerry, on 07/08/2009, -0/+6those are different kinds of risks
traders see mitigated risk, police see no risk because they wield power - soulonfire928, on 07/08/2009, -2/+8Rare, but not impossible. You never know if you are going to end up in that rare group where something ***** up and the rope snapped or the parachute didn't work as planned. It's still risk since there is a chance that something can go horribly wrong.
As for your second statement, are you implying then that every politician in office is in it for the women? That's a pretty ridiculous generalization to make. - kinerry, on 07/08/2009, -2/+8Um, being that bungee jumping and skydiving are both safe activities with deaths being a rare thing...
Eliot Spitzer paid for a prostitute because like all people in office, they sought office seeking power. Power is sought for many reasons, but any sociologist or psychologist can tell you that the end goal is access to women. It's only expected that men of power will sleep around, in fact it's more likely than not. - radarplane, on 07/08/2009, -0/+4Um, is that the whole article? It just basically says that three different groups think it could possibly be three different brain chemicals...but the whole sex thing may just be pride. There is no new break through, no definitive answer and no point to the article...F!
- roodammy44, on 07/08/2009, -0/+4I really doubt that power is sought with the end goal being access to women...
Power is sought so you can control other people's lives. The power of life and death, of changing an entire civilisation and shaping the future of the world, maybe eventually the entire galaxy.
Access to women surely seems quite mundane compared to that? - inactive, on 07/08/2009, -0/+3DO NOT SLEEP WITH ROBOTS
- tempysmurf, on 07/08/2009, -0/+3High risk usually leads to high rewards and sometimes you lose.
- simpleid, on 07/08/2009, -0/+3A car could hit you when you cross the road, I guess everyone is a genius.
On a separate note, I don't think soulonfire comprehended the comment he replied to. - soulonfire928, on 07/08/2009, -0/+3No, I just make blanket statements in hopes that it refers to the original post.
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -1/+3And dick for Larry Craig.
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -0/+2Do you really believe the sole reason men seek power is access to women?
There is more to life than women. - kinerry, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1yes, power of life and death to meet what ends? of course to impress women and impregnate them
sex is the most important thing, no, on a deep level nothing is more important - kinerry, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1yes, it is
they may seek to get money or make more friends, but of course those are also for additional access to women - NomortaL1, on 07/08/2009, -1/+2did you read his comment?
- hendrixlives64, on 07/08/2009, -0/+1does this explain why, after being accepted to an ivy-league university, i proceeded to fail all of my classes in lieu of writing graffiti and doing drugs every night?
- ps3241, on 07/08/2009, -0/+1More risk brings more rewards. It's physics pretty much.
- sndream, on 07/08/2009, -0/+1In politics, being narcissistic is much more important than being smart.
I mean it's quite clear if you look at the number of politician who are absolutely dumb but got elected by just exploiting some populist cause. - m0llusk, on 07/08/2009, -0/+1Context must be more important because people readily take on risks when at war or when not integrated into their community.
- alexedavis, on 07/08/2009, -0/+0You know, I need to figure this out for myself :P
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -1/+1Here's an outside shot-those people were not actually as smart as we thought they were.
- appleofdischord, on 07/08/2009, -1/+1Just use lube first.
- merei, on 07/09/2009, -0/+0If you're a thrill seeker, you're a thrill seeker. Of course they're something different than the person next to them. One wants to take the risk, the other doesn't. I think it's a situational thing. Or even a random thought. Kind of how bi-polar people work sometimes. Then again, its their way of not giving a damn and living spontaneously.
- Rogor, on 07/08/2009, -6/+5Because some of us still have balls in this increasingly feminised world.
- JoshDelvin, on 07/07/2009, -2/+1If possible, would be interesting to map the brain chemistry of high risk tolerance jobs (traders, police, etc.) versus low risk jobs
- OMGitsCODY, on 07/08/2009, -3/+0This Totally explains my life.
- Arslan70, on 07/08/2009, -4/+0thats some chemistry jargons combiend with some percentages with a title which makes every one curios.
BURIED!!! - harpreet79, on 07/08/2009, -5/+0Because smart people think they are too smart to handle everything.
