- bitsculptor, on 11/29/2008, -0/+21The new slogan for the re-released McRib Sandwich: "So good it'll drive you nuts..."
- Dumbledorito, on 11/28/2008, -2/+16Maybe it's the other way around. Perhaps exposure to clowns and guys in king masks causes brain damage similar to alzheimers, which results in a desire for fast food.
- Peko, on 11/30/2008, -0/+12I appreciate your tinfoil hattery, etc, but uh, that's reuters. I would be surprised if NYT and WashPost didn't pick something off this wire as well.
And after reading TFA, I could really go for a whopper combo. - Peko, on 11/30/2008, -0/+11I'm thinking it would be a good idea to find a large sample of adults with dementia and ask them to remember their dietary habits. Oh wait, maybe I haven't thought my plan all the way through.
So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. 'Give me five bees for a quarter,' you’d say. Now where were we? - jackelopeus, on 11/30/2008, -2/+12What the hell is that pic?
- thetedster180, on 11/30/2008, -1/+8They always talk about marijuana preventing alzheimers, but it looks like the munchies just cancel every thing out.
- FearTheHobbits, on 11/30/2008, -0/+7"The McRib Sandwich: You won't even know you just ate it"
- jroussell, on 11/30/2008, -3/+9well other studies showed that smoking pot can stop the onset of dementia which i am doing right now. and well i forgot my point with this comment but i could really go for a big mac right now. yum!
- AmnesiacJack, on 11/30/2008, -1/+7Guess that means my diet of Mt Dew and Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake Rolls will keep me sane and strong for years to come.
- pstroll, on 11/30/2008, -0/+6Well I'm a goner then
- fatas, on 11/30/2008, -0/+5Ronald McDonald when he 'forgets' to wear his wig.
- sneaker98, on 11/30/2008, -0/+5Ugh... after I watched the part in Super Size Me where he pukes his Supersized combo out the car window, I went out and got some McDonalds...
- sneaker98, on 11/30/2008, -0/+4I got your Dugg Down right here.
- twiztidsinz, on 11/30/2008, -0/+4It's all about maintaining the balance.
- fxu1989, on 11/30/2008, -0/+3I remember seeing it on the spanish news channel.
It's a robot that mimics all face expressions. You stand in front of the pc with the webcam and the robot mimics your expressions.
It's creepy. By 2050, we won't be able to tell humans and robots apart! - fuzzybeard, on 11/30/2008, -1/+4It looks like an android clone of Alec Baldwin. Maybe the driod's acting is a not quite as wooden as Mr. Baldwin's.
- RNEMESiS42, on 11/30/2008, -0/+2Good work.
- Stroggoth, on 11/30/2008, -0/+2I'm not so sure - all of the people that I know who have it are thin, not overweight. The overweight folks tend to die of heart attacks. Just using the rough ruler of life, you can tell that it has much more to do with genetics or consuming a particular thing than just eating too many big macs. For example, there are people who eat a big mac every day, but they don't develop alzheimers at age 30.
The puzzle is more complicated than we are realizing (yet). - NinaOdell, on 11/29/2008, -5/+7Well so much for MY diet...just kidding, I eat pretty well...they don't let you live in Northern California if you don't. :)
This is actually freaking me out a bit. My Mom is 61 and I've noticed she's having problem with memory and she's messing up at work. She's getting tested for ADHD (which she may well have - both her kids and one Grandkid has it), but I've got this nagging horror in the back of my mind.
And her diet! Don't get me started. She's basically lived on Pork Rinds and Cauliflower and dip for years...
I wish they'd down a study on the same mice and figured out if a switch to a health diet REVERSED the changes! - Charlotte_Web, on 11/30/2008, -0/+2The person I know who has it was a health food freak. He mostly avoided meat, and ate a diet largely consisting of raw fruits and vegetables.
He did use an anti-perspirant all of his life, and the aluminum in those has been cited as a possible cause. - MiddleAmerica, on 11/29/2008, -7/+9This will never be allowed to get any traction in the US MSM.
- jackelopeus, on 11/30/2008, -0/+2SEXBOT!
- 0260, on 11/30/2008, -4/+6This study seems flawed. I remain skeptical
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Every thing is linked to every thing..some are strongly and some are weakly. SO whats new in this?
- nighthawk1, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Guess I'm in trouble then.
- RNEMESiS42, on 11/30/2008, -2/+3Damn, that Big Mac looks good.
- Truson, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1I like to snack on soy nuts. Easy, cheap , crunchy.
- Stroggoth, on 11/30/2008, -0/+1I have often wondered about aluminum - one of the women I know who has it used a large number of aluminum cooking sheets and pans. I have heard the anti-prespirant too, it has aluminum in it.. hm.
- beauley, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1For many centuries doctors or "medicine men" have treated some individuals with varying diseases of different severeties, some for most of their lives. Many were never cured of their ailment, probably due to improper medicines prescribed for their particular infirmity. There must be a better way.

Disease Prevention Is The Key - SheilaNoya, on 11/30/2008, -3/+4According to the article, it's not just "fast foods". It's a diet consisting of too much fat, sugar and cholesterol.
If that's true, then typical Southern cooking will also lead to an increase in dementia. - LeekMibles, on 11/30/2008, -0/+1I take it you don't eat fast food. Or drink alcohol. Or use a cell phone...
- beauley, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1Did she get a flu shot very often? Check out the statistics,
- Tyrghast, on 11/30/2008, -3/+3What website am I viewing?
- Peko, on 11/30/2008, -1/+1whoa.... yeah! it's all about the balance! like that thing with the circle with the two circles. one white, one black. ying and YANG man. i think that circle thing is chinese. I could totally go for chinese.
- linagee, on 11/30/2008, -1/+1Are you a cannibal if you're hungry to eat humanoid robots?
- pkmccoy99, on 11/30/2008, -3/+3Why did that damn android have to be the thumbnail.
Now I won't sleep for a week! - Filmhappy, on 11/30/2008, -1/+1buried for dumb irony.
- FiestyPumpkin, on 11/30/2008, -2/+2One word - MARIJUANA.
Besides, my grandmother did not feast at fast food restaurants and she has Alzheimer's. Okay, maybe she did prepare cholesterol and fat sodden meals..... - MisterEThoughts, on 11/30/2008, -2/+2Okay!!!
- pika2000, on 11/30/2008, -2/+1Hey, it's a conspiracy. Dumb down your population, and they would be easier to control. :D
Or... it's the Matrix! Wait, I heard agent Smith knocking... - LeekMibles, on 11/30/2008, -2/+1So if I eat fast food will I turn into a realistic human robot head too?
- inactive, on 11/30/2008, -2/+1*****
- iancgi, on 11/30/2008, -3/+2They are turning you all into a lesser species of human.
The elites eat all organic food and filtered drinks. Ask yourselves why. - highdef, on 11/30/2008, -2/+1Correlation does not imply causation
- alvination, on 11/30/2008, -2/+1Leave me and my Baconator alone!
