- KingGorilla, on 04/26/2009, -0/+22You better hurry before they close down their airport
- earthtoandy, on 04/26/2009, -1/+23Scary: Swine Flu
Friggin Terrifying: Spider Swine Flu
I warned you - mmittimm, on 04/26/2009, -1/+18They should have called it Pig Flu. Don't know why, but I'd rather die of Pig Flu than Swine Flu.
- inactive, on 04/26/2009, -3/+18Since most "news" broadcasts are practically indistinguishable from tabloid junk, I'd say you are full of *****.
- mmittimm, on 04/26/2009, -1/+15*facepalm*
Just shut up. - earthtoandy, on 04/26/2009, -1/+12Kinda interesting how much the way we receive critical information has changed. More from Twitter and Digg than Cnn.
Well thats partially because they have completely let us down time and again of course. - EdLau, on 04/26/2009, -1/+12Actually, it's not due to cross breeding or gene splicing.
The emergence of the pig flu is a natural occurrence and it is the product of the pig being simultaneously being infected with the bird and human flu at the same time. This leads to genetic reassortment and it produces new strains of the flu. From just a random mutation, it resulted in this flu being able to infect humans. Usually swine flus don't. - inactive, on 04/26/2009, -1/+12Wait... Are you saying crap like CNN isn't completely self-absorbed? They report news for one reason and one reason only - to get viewers. That is why, time and time again, they blow off actual important news in favor of sensationalist *****.
- Figgy340, on 04/26/2009, -4/+13How art thou an idiot?
Let me count the ways. . . - Jnewman83, on 04/26/2009, -3/+11I dont digg on swine....they're dirty and roll around in their own filth. If i were to eat one he'd have to be one charming *****, like that Arnold character from Green Acres.
- yeeaauuh, on 04/26/2009, -2/+10yeeaauuh~runs screaming through the streets "WE"RE ALL GONNA DIE!"..."Who wants to have sex?"
- mehan, on 04/26/2009, -0/+7They ain't got no airport, only a port.
- inactive, on 04/26/2009, -0/+7AIDS is not a few hundred deaths, you ignorant *****.
- shaelen, on 04/26/2009, -1/+8Pigs only roll in their own filth if they are captive and humans don't provide cool clean water for them. Pigs don't have sweat glands, they have to cool themselves off somehow.
I wonder what YOU'D be rolling around in if you were kept in a pen in 114 degree weather with no water to roll around in, after I removed your sweat glands. - sensor, on 04/26/2009, -0/+7Can I come too.
- inactive, on 04/26/2009, -1/+8No, I just saw that 3 news report and as per usual, it wasn't true. "Swine Flu confirmed in NZ" they said. "10 cases confirmed" they said but then the expert said no, infact 10 cases of influenza were confirmed, that's NOT to say they're Swine Flu.
Typical media making a story out of half-truths and unconfirmed "facts"
It's also winter here, they just got off a flight from a warm climate (Mexico) - Thousands of people get flu and flu-like symptoms after long flights between hemispheres. Flying from 30 degree C heat to 10C cold seriously ***** your immune system up. Chances are it's nothing special at all. Of course anyone entering the country from Mexico with a runny nose is going to be considered a candidate - mmittimm, on 04/26/2009, -0/+7Pulp Fiction *****, have you seen it?
- KingGorilla, on 04/26/2009, -0/+6I dunno. Swine Flu sounds a lot classier
- inactive, on 04/26/2009, -1/+7*****, you're on to us! Er, I mean, uh, nothing to see here, move along.
- whorunbartertwn, on 04/26/2009, -2/+7Whatever college you got that biology degree from... ask for a refund.
- thecatcantalk, on 04/26/2009, -4/+9Dude, you really need to stop smoking that stuff...
- Majora26, on 04/26/2009, -0/+5Madagascar's stupid one port. I dont think they'd survive economically without that port open. Its people would riot...
- inactive, on 04/26/2009, -2/+6Where do you think new diseases come from? Do you think they just fall out of the sky? Any new disease that develops would have to come from an animal disease that has mutated in such a way as to allow it to infect humans. Are you some sort of Creationist ***** who doesn't believe in mutation?
- sensor, on 04/26/2009, -7/+11Get that ***** out of digg.
- inactive, on 04/26/2009, -0/+4Close enough.
- mmittimm, on 04/26/2009, -1/+5Well ya see, if someone read a history book and saw that I died of swine flu they'd just keep reading. If they read that I died of pig flu they'd probably at least chuckle. If someone in ten years is still laughing about me then I'll be looking down from atheist heaven and know that my life wasn't a complete waste after all.
- macmcraeart, on 04/26/2009, -1/+5so was the government behind the black death too? Damn they knew about micro biology back then? They were smart ***** - i guess.
- stk198323, on 04/26/2009, -1/+5Yeah stupid US,
Here in Canada we closed all our borders and no flight is coming in anymore... oh wait!
Same for France, Germany, UK, etc!
No one has closed there border so stop picking on the US, they are to blame for a ***** load of stuff but they did nothing wrong as of now! - inactive, on 04/29/2009, -0/+3God! Spare India........we already have enough of problems and diseases here
- jattea, on 04/26/2009, -0/+3Velociraptor Flu.
- dawnraid101, on 04/26/2009, -0/+3Hey buddy im in NZ too. I watched the media conference on Sky news, they where heavily alluding to the fact that it was swine flu.
http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/2364487/Ten ...
Initially it was reported as 13 but now 10. - macmcraeart, on 04/27/2009, -0/+3/s
- jattea, on 04/26/2009, -1/+4here's a tinfoil hat for you!
- jsdratm, on 04/26/2009, -3/+6infowars == automatic bury
- archer104, on 04/26/2009, -0/+3OH *****! RUUUUUNNN!!!!!
http://bacolicio.us/http://digg.com/health/Questio ... - XTX7X, on 04/26/2009, -2/+5Because you made a ridiculous claim with no evidence to support it.
- XTX7X, on 04/26/2009, -2/+5THE CDC knows what it's talking about. You probably do not.
- inactive, on 04/27/2009, -0/+2The flu spread from mexico to america, moron. wouldnt have happened if you dumbass americans would have some kind of control on who enters your country.
- museamongmen, on 04/26/2009, -1/+3It probably is Mexico, else we'd be seeing more cases here stateside. In Mexico, many people are not as educated in terms of what illnesses are (microscopic fauna) and how they mutate and propagate, particularly in poorer regions. It is common practice to eat a pig that has died of illness as well, so that may be a factor.
- moosejaw99, on 04/26/2009, -0/+2You forgot SARS.
- L8blumR, on 04/28/2009, -0/+2Doctors of Chiropractic saved 10 times the number of people that medical doctors saved during the 1918 Flu Pandemic. Food for thought before you run out and get a poison shot, I mean a flu shot.
- macmcraeart, on 04/26/2009, -2/+4well ... since you ARE a digger. i know a couple of pigs that might be game. I saw one of them sneezing though.
- seltaeb4, on 04/26/2009, -1/+3Bacon Abides.
- Gloogle, on 04/30/2009, -0/+2Sorry dude I'm the idiot its actually H1N1...
- wichitadisciple, on 05/27/2009, -0/+2Swine flu isn't as dangerous as the normal flu that passes through every year. They are just trying to get all the idiots to scream "the sky is falling". Another way to get our minds off of what is really going on in the world.
Facts about the NORMAL flu:
Each flu season is unique, but it is estimated that, on average, approximately 5% to 20% of U.S. residents get the flu, and more than 200,000 persons are hospitalized for flu-related complications each year. About 36,000 Americans die on average per year from the complications of flu. http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/disease.htm
- When the Swine flu kills over 40,000 here in America, then I might get worried. - Gloogle, on 04/30/2009, -0/+2H5N1 is bird flu you idiot.
- Gloogle, on 04/30/2009, -0/+2The flu likes problems and diseases...
- redwire, on 04/26/2009, -0/+2I don't know how but I know http://bacolicio.us/ is to blame somehow.
