- amunimanghi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Great, now we are going to need a .pdf section.
- alexf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11I think everyone should be certified in first aid and CPR, anyways.
- arcooke, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11"get this ***** off digg". You call this *****? With all the lolcat *****, celebrity "news", and other crap being posted here lately, this is kind of refreshing.
- ccanni1028, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9You don't like things like this? Stop reading the HEALTH section.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Why the ***** are those 2 pages 9.3MB???
- zenzic64, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"Fist aid"? That conjures a lot of unpleasant possibilities...
- nitsnipe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The PDF looks cheesy, but it has real practical advice and procedures(besides having to call 911). Very useful and everyone should know this stuff.
It is also short enough for the average Digg user to actually read it all before his/her attention span starts overheating. - Heracles, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3In a similar vein, here is a simple set of CPR instructions: http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/seeandsave/PDF/English/CPRpageBlue.pdf (and one for infants: http://beprepared.net/infantcpr.pdf)
- nogami, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I somehow expected more than a 2 page PDF...
- iagn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Enjoy the 9.3MB while the server lasts.
- stellamaris, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Real Simple is one of the better magazines for women out there today. Full of practical advice that people can actually use.
- fnaqzna, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hmmm... if you buy a first aid kit (and you really should), I believe most come with a booklet that covers everything that this PDF does.
- Caleb83, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1almost 10 megs for only two pages? waste of bandwidth anyone?
- kinerry, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If you do any of this without certification, prepare to get sued. If you do nothing, prepare to go to jail over good samaritan laws.
- TheFrod, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Being an EMT by profession I can say that this is really good advice and this should be applied while waiting for advance care professionals to arrive. If you can at least get the ball rolling and start some basic first aid then we can render more advance care and get to the hospital in a timely manner. If only everyone did this for injured people instead of pouring mustard on patients with major burns (true story).
- justdru, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That information is wrong - I am a first responder with a Fire Department and these guidelines were changed this year. The ratio is now 30 compressions and 2 breaths.
- danwallace, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Fap chart.
- fnaqzna, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I don't have one of these. I have children that have survived life long enough to become teenagers.
Pretty much covers most of those two pages. - TheFrod, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Those laws protect the layman from doing procedures out of the scope of their practice, a EMT/Paramedic/Nurse/Doctor can establish an airway on patient, run life saving procedures such as tourniquets, compression bandages, and cpr. Good Samaritan laws don't protect the person with a season pass to ER or House walking around with a pen knife and a straw. Anything mentioned in this PDF is basic first aid that can be administered in good faith, There isn't a certification for bloody nose treatment.
- BigFoot48, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I saw that and thought I don't need a 30-page manual, and passed, but for a 2-page it must have some important graphics!
- vornan19, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2If you don't have one of these then you probably do fist aid as a job. Some of these may seem like common sense but not everyone realizes these things.
Other than the pictures illustrating each malady this is o.k.. - BigFoot48, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Why is Bush trying to destroy this country by providing bad, out-of-date information!
Just thought I would get in the first obligatory Bush/Conservative bashing comment as required by Digg inmates. - Bleh7777, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0"Oh no! This person has (Insert Injury Here)! Let me just pull out this reference sheet and find out what to do and completely ignore the person for a few minutes."
Unless you've memorized the chart, it's not very practical. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0St John Ambulance Canada has something similar ( two posters that can be printed out )

%30 of the patients we see only need basic first aid, if they could take care of that themsleves we would have more time for all of the really f*cked up people. - sandiegoliving, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Mirror: http://dyingdiaries.com/injury.pdf
- jcrew1001, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0cool
