Ever 3 hours your body goes into a catabolic stage where you store fat and burn muscle if you don't give it nutrients. Portion and lowering your calorie intake, lower sugars and good carbs but not starvation. And the doc who's gone without breakfast for 20 years is an idiot your already goin on about ten hours of fasting your body then your gonna wait a couple more hours. breakfast is important. sorry just thought that part was stupid.
