This is the link to the full package inserts for each H1N1 vaccine. Let's see just how safe these vaccines are for pregnant women. From the Novartis insert:
Pregnancy
Pregnancy Category C: Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted with Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 Monovalent Vaccine or FLUVIRIN. It is also not known whether Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 Monovalent Vaccine or FLUVIRIN can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman or can affect reproduction capacity. Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 Monovalent Vaccine should be given to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed. - TheMachine1, on 11/04/2009, -2/+11I thought it took longer than a week to build immunity.
- Kahnza, on 11/04/2009, -8/+16I avoid all flu shots.
Because the last 3 times I got a flu shot I got the flu within 1 week of the vaccination. So ***** that... - inactive, on 11/04/2009, -5/+13You ***** dolt, there is no elemental mercury in our vaccines. Comparing the mercury COMPOUNDS in vaccines with ELEMENTAL mercury is like comparing table salt (NaCl) to ***** chlorine.
REAL information:

- AlphaMack, on 11/04/2009, -3/+8Uhm, read the package inserts from the FDA site. Stop fooling yourself.

"There have been rumors, largely spread through internet sources, that the squalene contained in adjuvanted 2009 H1N1 vaccine has been linked to neurological and other disorders including Gulf War Syndrome. This claim has been demonstrated to be untrue.[41] Clinical studies found no correlation between the presence of squalene antibodies and symptoms of Gulf War Syndrome,[42] and adjuvants containing squalene do not induce an immune response to squalene.[41]"
nice try buddy - spookyttws, on 11/04/2009, -7/+12But it'll cause autism, cancer, oh, and it will take control of your mind and put you n a frenzy of shopping. That's why they give them out before Christmas. I read it all here: http://www.mrxswebpage.com/flushots.htm
- Awesomebox5000, on 11/04/2009, -2/+6Well since vaccines are inactive virus' that are not physically capable of compromising your immune system, your opinion is moot.
- drlha, on 11/04/2009, -7/+11Correlation != Causation.
- inactive, on 11/04/2009, -6/+10***** off with your ignorant anit-vaxxer *****, iancgi
- waspbr, on 11/04/2009, -2/+5I would suggest you stop licking door handles, that might help
though seriously, it may just be that the vaccine does not work on you, statistically it won't work on a very tiny oercentage of the population. I guess you are just lucky - Frostek, on 11/04/2009, -1/+4Looks like everyone is too selfish, dude. :-(
- chesterogilvie, on 11/04/2009, -0/+3Why is there a thimerosal-free version being produced if thimerosal is not harmful? (Honest question - could there be allergies?)
- waspbr, on 11/04/2009, -2/+5hang on
*grabs tin-foil hat*
carry on - EverythingsRndm, on 11/04/2009, -4/+7No one tell Bill Maher.
He tends to go all Tom Cruise on this this stuff. - AlphaMack, on 11/04/2009, -0/+3"The reality is that there hasn't been enough time to conduct mass clinical trials. Almost no drugs have been fully tested in pregnancy (which pregnant woman in their right mind would enrole in such a trial?)."
The inserts refer to clinical trials conducted in the 80s and 90s. This should also raise suspicion as this strain is supposedly novel (again, from a Reuters link about the swine flu deaths in Mexico).
And you're right; no sane pregnant woman would want to enroll in clinical trials in addition to the obvious ethical issues.
But the big issue here is the WHO insisting that pregnant women take the vax when the inserts otherwise warn against it unless it is absolutely needed. - damnshoes, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2lol
- jster89, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2It's an impossibility. The flu vaccine has inactivated virus in it. So it can't cause flu. Of course you could have caught flu before the immunity developed.
- dukeeeey, on 11/04/2009, -12/+14I am sure the mercury in the swine flu shot will do wonders for the brain of a developing child.
- Bloodwine, on 11/04/2009, -3/+5The funny thing about the flu shot is it seems every year there is a major flu outbreak that is a strand not covered by the flu shot.
- inactive, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2Because your vaccine targets several prominent types of flu for that year, but not every possible type.
- Mothrog, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2"If what you say is true and your swearing isnt just a diversionary tactic, why would some states feel the need to have toxicity safety levels if the mercury in the shots weren't the same as real mercury (as you put it)?"
Probably so they can satisfy uneducated dolts like you. - PacketScan, on 11/04/2009, -4/+6get the vaccination, why? almost half of us have already had h1n1.
- TAGline, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2Because its easier to create a whole new vaccine than convince ignorant people to give up irrational fears of things they don't understand. The more people who get vaccinated, the greater the herd immunity, delivering two strong separate blows against the virus. The antivaxxers are harmful the the general population in this way by weakening the herd immunity effect.
- Kaegro, on 11/04/2009, -1/+3Lately, I think we need helmets or full body suits...
- Kaegro, on 11/04/2009, -2/+4"why would some states feel the need to have toxicity safety levels if the mercury in the shots weren't the same as real mercury (as you put it)?"
Why do some senators support rape? - fooljoe, on 11/04/2009, -3/+5the vaccine is (or will be) available in two forms, with and without the thimerosal preservative, which is the only source of mercury. my wife's ob-gyn tells us that when she gets the shot it will be thimerosal-free; I assume most ob's would recommend this for their pregnant patients.
the only concern I have about the vaccine is that's it's taking so long to produce that my wife will get the flu before she can get the shot. - iancgi, on 11/04/2009, -5/+6Why should I trust those who claim to keep us safe, when they talk like this behind closed doors?

(This video exposes how the corporate health industry met at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York and expressed concern that Americans are refusing the unpopular H1N1 swine flu vaccines.
This video also documents the strong case that the media is hyping an artificial scarcity of the vaccine to trick concerned parents into lining up like cattle for the flu shot)

http://www.cfr.org/publication/20442/session_i_of_ ... - inactive, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1because their toxicity safety levels do not address or acknowledge the difference between ethyl mercury and methyl mercury
- Kahnza, on 11/04/2009, -1/+2All I know is that I got the flu several times shortly after I got the shot. Since I decided to not get flu shots anymore, I haven't gotten the flu at all. *shrug*
- chesterogilvie, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1TAGline - Do you have proof for your statement? All I can find is the following from the CDC:
http://www.cdc.gov/Flu/about/qa/thimerosal.htm
"There is no convincing evidence of harm caused by the low doses of thimerosal in vaccines, except for minor reactions like redness and swelling at the injection site. However, in July 1999 the Public Health Service (PHS) agencies, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and vaccine manufacturers agreed that thimerosal should be reduced or eliminated in vaccines as a precautionary measure."
A precaution against what? Redness and swelling at the injection site? - Kahnza, on 11/04/2009, -3/+4And you stop worrying about it. If you eat fish you get a nice dose of mercury everytime.
- jster89, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1The reality is that there hasn't been enough time to conduct mass clinical trials. Almost no drugs have been fully tested in pregnancy (which pregnant woman in their right mind would enrole in such a trial?). The true effects only become apparent with time. The drugs used commonly in pregnancy tend to be the oldest ones with which we have the most experience (e.g. penicillins).
It comes down to the choice of the patient. If they weigh up the risks and benefits (vaccine made on tried and tested technologies which are safe in pregnant women vs. novel strain of pandemic influenza with relatively low mortality) then they can make their own decisions. - Enlefo, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1Took the words right outta my mouth, and for the "that's a conspiracy" people... do your HW before posting.
- Kahnza, on 11/04/2009, -1/+2Well, after getting the flu shortly after the shot several times in a row, I think I'll pass.
When I DON'T get the shot, I am fine. - deacon1729, on 11/04/2009, -1/+2That's precisely my fear as well. My wife has had difficulty finding the actual shot and our OB/GYN has told us to avoid the mist for all family members. Normally I wouldn't be concerned, but the incidence of serious complications, including death, is much, much higher for pregnant women than the general population.
- jster89, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1The strain is indeed novel but everything else in the vaccine is fully tried and tested. The pharmaceutical companies (such as GSK) would be unable to put anything other than that on the insert to protect themselves from litigation. If you check any reliable formulary book almost all manufacturers advise against pregnant women using their drugs (Reference British National Formulary www.bnf.org). Doctor's commonly prescribe against this advice if it is in the mother's best interests as the WHO argue it is in this case.
- Kaegro, on 11/04/2009, -2/+2"I'm addicted to abortions"
- anonymousmedic, on 11/04/2009, -1/+1Cool Story Bro! Unfortunately it's untrue! Thiomerisol is never given in pediatric vaccinations anymore due to the possibility of it causing autism, which has remained unproven - in fact, when it was routinely removed, autism rates continued to rise.
- Kaegro, on 11/04/2009, -1/+1So he get's things done with no violence ( although ***** blows up ) and good hair?
- inactive, on 11/04/2009, -3/+3Buried for trying to think for yourself and not implicitly trusting governments and organizations which consistently betray us and treat us like *****.
- gfryesc, on 11/04/2009, -1/+1maybe's he's waiting for Obama to get his on life TV. I know I am.
- Kahnza, on 11/04/2009, -1/+1But you know what, certain things bypass that.
- gilbes, on 11/04/2009, -15/+15Would you anti-vaccine nuts please get polio so I can make a fortune investing in wheel chairs and crutches.
1918-1819 1/3 of the entire world's population got the flu and 20% of those died. Most of the victims were healthy young adults.
Think about this ***** before you put on your tinfoil hat and endanger the rest of the population with your incredible stupidity. - Kahnza, on 11/04/2009, -8/+8OK sure. But when I don't get the flu because I didn't get a flu shot..... But I get the flu when I DO get a flu shot......
- nirvanix, on 11/04/2009, -5/+4"According to a CDC epidemiologist Tom Verstraeten, who had analyzed the agency’s massive database containing the medical records of 100,000 children, a mercury-based preservative in the vaccines — thimerosal — appeared to be responsible for a dramatic increase in autism and a host of other neurological disorders among children…."
Here is Robert Kennedy Jr talking about this in front of Congress:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQG5Q4GWw2o&fea ... - dralezero, on 11/05/2009, -2/+1It wouldn't be the first time a shot was created and focused towards women only to sterilize them.
