Pill Stops 80 Percent of Heart Attacks

news.com.au — Scientists have produced a "polypill" which they say could stop 4 in 5 heart attacks and strokes - and save millions of lives among the over-55's.

  • fitqueenb, on 05/05/2008, -1/+1I am not sure why just for the 55 plus crowd, and why suggest all men take it after age 50? Even healthy men?
    • Wiwoz, on 05/06/2008, -0/+155+ is when heart attack risk becomes substantially greater, and even healthy men get heart attacks. That said, I don't think they're saying that ONLY people in this bracket should take it either. 30 year-olds who are morbidly obese or have a history of steroid use, for example, would be excellent candidates.
