- SeaMowse, on 01/10/2008, -2/+107The disease this man has - Neurofibromatosis, or NF1, is the most severest case on record. My heart goes out to him, and hopefully this operation will allow him to live a productive and normal life.
Normally, the disease only results in a few bumps, or none at all. More of a inconvenience than anything else. But this has effected the man's quality of life, as well as his heath. I wish him the best of luck. - wattznext, on 01/10/2008, -7/+55i usually like to contribute more than this but...
Holy. *****. *****. - bundwallah, on 01/10/2008, -1/+37Man.. Makes any problems I seem to have seem pretty minor.
- bamafun, on 01/10/2008, -1/+3322lbs of tumors - wow - i'm glad they've found a way to help him !
- chiliwilli, on 01/10/2008, -1/+28the last picture says all .... it's as if he's saying "what a pain in the ass"
- CasinoJack, on 01/10/2008, -2/+23Holy crap I was not expecting that! He looks like a half-melted Rocky Dennis.
Seriously though, I wish him all the best and hope that the remaining operations are a success. - fixty, on 01/10/2008, -0/+21It was originally over 50lbs. I hope he gets to have insane amounts of fun after being freed from all of it.
- DreKor, on 01/10/2008, -6/+25I laughed. I didn't want to but I did. I'm still digging you down for being a terrible person. I hope people do the same for me.
- mikehill33, on 01/10/2008, -0/+18crazy. I will quit pissing and moaning about the MRI i just got.
- inactive, on 01/10/2008, -2/+19***** speechless. my heart and best wishes go out to him and his family/friends...
- EricAnderton, on 01/10/2008, -2/+16**NSFL!!**
Not Safe For Lunch. - inactive, on 01/10/2008, -2/+14What? No one on Digg has a sense of humor?
- BloKKem, on 01/10/2008, -0/+11He isn't paying for it. If they had the money to pay for it he wouldn't have waited until he was 32 to get the operation.
- inactive, on 01/10/2008, -1/+12That tear really got to me.
Whatever you believe or don't, just be thankful. - spdorsey, on 01/10/2008, -0/+9Is it just me, or are those photos not particularly gruesome? I was not affected by them in any way other than a feeling of deep sympathy. I hope the operations improve his quality of life.
- BloKKem, on 01/10/2008, -2/+11OMFG I LOL'ed too. I don't feel bad about it though, its funny. What else can you do but laugh? People act like they care about this guy but as soon as they close their browser they will have long forgotten it and back to worrying about the wrinkles in their pants or some *****.
- jmoo, on 01/10/2008, -0/+8My wife has this disease, although no where near what this poor man has. Like SeaMowse said it usually just a few bumps on the arms or back (my wife has several small ones on her arms and back). One thing with this disease is that can effect bone growth and my wife had spinal surgery on her back when she was young. I was rather oblivious that there was anything wrong with her until I saw her scar on her back. So most people go through life with little problem of this disease.
I hope this guys gets all the help he needs. - CabesMojo, on 01/10/2008, -0/+8Holy ***** my pants are wrinkled! Son of a bitch
- iiBeLiEvE, on 01/10/2008, -2/+9Good to see his family's there supporting him. Also good to see he can afford the treatment. Most of the time people in China can't afford ridiculously expensive operations, especially in the countryside.
- rikwakefield, on 01/10/2008, -3/+10....and suffocate in the process. Nice thinking brainiac. :o)
- mpete510, on 01/10/2008, -1/+8Maybe the problems I have aren't that big of a deal.
- Zalo81, on 01/10/2008, -0/+6I really wish these were photoshop'd. These get my vote for the most incredible images to hit Digg of 2008.
- rebotfc, on 01/10/2008, -3/+9Yeah thanks God you disfigured this poor guys face just so we can realise how lucky we are.
- inlovingmemory, on 01/10/2008, -1/+7apparently not, i +1'ed him it was pretty funny, harsh though
- RedSquaree, on 01/10/2008, -0/+6Oh mike, you know you won't.
- borez, on 01/10/2008, -0/+6I have no problems what so ever after seeing that guy.
Good luck mate, hope it all goes well. - soil, on 01/10/2008, -0/+5this post will be 20x better when it shows "after" pics.
- sindex, on 01/10/2008, -0/+4Wow. Just... wow. I don't even know what to say, but I'm compelled to comment nonetheless. Our bodies can do amazing things, but as with any amazing machine, if things go wrong, they can seriously go wrong. Hopefully he's able to recover from his surgeries and live his life a little more normally. At least he won't have 50 lbs. of extra weight keeping him in a wheelchair. That's just sad.
- calon9, on 01/10/2008, -0/+4Hopefully we see a follow up. It would be nice to see him post-healing and hopefully happier.
- danjal, on 01/10/2008, -3/+7I will never complain about my looks again.. ever!
- Thuktun, on 01/10/2008, -3/+7"most severest"
Redundant superlative, core dumped. - divrekku, on 01/10/2008, -1/+4Followed by a quick "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!"
- 83457, on 01/10/2008, -0/+3Wow, the guy look like a cartoon in some of the pictures. Even with pictures it is unbelievable what the disease has done to him. I hope everything goes
- NoCalSF, on 01/10/2008, -1/+4 I hope his operation goes WELL.
- loquax, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2It is freaking amazing what the human body can come up with to plague or help people.
- zoomtechtv, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2Man I feel so bad for him. My heart goes out to him.
- tgc1, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2This man is brave. I sincerely hope he gets through this and gets to lead a normal life. Just goes to show how cruel nature can be sometimes.
- wastelander, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2You made me look it up..

weird.. - rollerboy, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2that was heartbreaking. no picture has ever made me feel so sad.
- inactive, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2I look forward to seeing after shots.
Will it come back tho? - SeaMowse, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2How anal of you to notice. :P
- Scopitone, on 01/10/2008, -5/+7There is no god
- jftitan, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2You now have a less understanding at the conditions of which this tumor could affect in someones life. I knew eating my breakfast and looking at the slideshow would probably not mix well, but at least I understand and see what kind of life this man had to endure. I know nothing more than just the short story, but I wish this man and his surgical staff the best of luck. Hopefully he will at least get the 22Lb off, and he can somewhat have a normal 'like' life.
I know how it feels to have a 'disability' that has been with you since birth. Its also wonderful when that 'burden' gets lifted. - MrSilverblood, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1That's awesome! I'm truly happy for this man. He must be relieved that they're going to be removed.
- Homerr, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1Is this caused by PCB's or something?
- switchman401, on 01/11/2008, -1/+2if that means there is a god. i agree.
- calon9, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1On the contrary. Richness is empathy.
- crazlunatic, on 01/13/2008, -0/+1if someone can find an update, let me know please
- yutt, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1It's quite clear that God is no good at playing God.
- peppermd, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1Why is it that most of these severe cases of tumors and warts (tree man) are from Asia?
I remember when I was in the Philippines years ago I noticed a lot of tumors on people's faces. Of course, nothing like this. -
