- merton42, on 11/06/2009, -8/+57What? Imagine that! I'm stunned!!
- nihil, on 11/06/2009, -8/+52'Cause, of course, we wouldn't want people to be able to read this horrible bill. We have to vote on it NOW, so it can be implemented in 2012 or something.
- pjr12345, on 11/06/2009, -19/+46It's amazing so many rank-and-file democrats are following this marxist whore down the path to their own servitude.
- alais, on 11/06/2009, -13/+39Come on lefties, at least fake a little outrage...
- Grimee, on 11/06/2009, -9/+35This is probably because Boehner is posting exerts from it on his website... lol She doesn't want it any of it to go public before it's voted on...http://republicanleader.house.gov/blog/?p=666
- inactive, on 11/06/2009, -16/+37I thought we had it bad under Bush, I really did. I voted for Obama because I thought change was warranted.
Apparently "change" meant they would "change" their mind on a whim. Promises mean nothing to these people.
I made a mistake. This is the last time I vote liberal. I have never seen a more wretched hive a scum and villainy. - pjr12345, on 11/06/2009, -6/+24Welcome home!
- JediPii, on 11/06/2009, -9/+24C'mon Nancy... What are you hiding in there?
- JediPii, on 11/06/2009, -6/+21Welcome back to the lessor of two evils!
- Heel04, on 11/06/2009, -10/+24Well this story is bound to go unreported by the mainstream media....
- newerakb, on 11/06/2009, -5/+17Come on guys, give her a break. We all know how hard it is do actually DO things. Especially upload a file to the world wide webs. That could take MINUTES!
- inactive, on 11/06/2009, -7/+18WHAT? Democrats breaking their promises and operating under extreme secrecy? I'm shocked.
Protip: the reason the final health care bill won't be online is because the insurance industry wrote it. I bet half the lawmakers never even read it.
Is this change you can believe in? - govsucks, on 11/06/2009, -6/+17Well Obama should do something. Didn't he also make a pledge to put legislation online? He should publicly tell her to put it online and keep her word as he has his. He said he was for open transparent government right? Me thinks the liar will stay quiet and let his associate take all the blame. Like a real man ya know.
- BearKill, on 11/06/2009, -18/+29We're gonna take our country back in 2010 and 2012 and undo all this crap. Screw you, Pelosi.
- markgl, on 11/06/2009, -0/+11Don't think left or right, but right or wrong. I'll vote for either side if someday either side decides to do whats best for the people and not their own party.
- DaviDTC, on 11/06/2009, -0/+11wow this got buried off the fp in less than 1 hour. That is pretty sad. Have to try and hide the actions of Pelosi even when you all bash her on everything she says and does. How pathetic.
- Samueul, on 11/06/2009, -0/+10Boy this got buried pretty quick... Only on the frontpage for what an hour or two? I wonder why....
- freedomizntfree, on 11/06/2009, -2/+12What!! Government officials making empty promises! Haven't seen this before!
- thebudda, on 11/06/2009, -3/+12This remind anybody else of shady used car salesmen trying to rush you into signing something so they have you locked in and ou tthe door before you realize how f*%$ed you are?
Then again if we only had 2-3 days who'd have time read all 2,000 pages? - DaDrake, on 11/06/2009, -5/+14No surprise. After all, the stimulus bill was promised to be placed online, for the general public to read, at least 48 hours before it hit the floor for voting (the necessary time for an average reader to digest a thousand+ pages of comprehensive verbiage).
Of course, that was the plan... until it didn't happen... - Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2009, -2/+11Not a chance this stays on the page.
- diggbigwig, on 11/06/2009, -0/+9What is there to debate? Please list the cons of putting the bill online.
- mier1, on 11/06/2009, -3/+12Well here comes what the CBO calls a 1.2 trillion dollar spending spree that won't do ***** except lower everyone's expectations of care.
The CBO said the republican plan would only cover 3 million whereas the democrat plan would cover some 30 odd million. The difference between the two is that the republican plan would lower costs and premiums while costing nothing. The democrat plan spends ***** of money we don't have. - OriginalLucid1, on 11/06/2009, -3/+12Most transparent, most ethical Congress EVAH BABY.
Thanks Kool AId drinkers! - Trister0, on 11/06/2009, -6/+15Obama won't stop this. He claimed no more pork, and then there was 4 billion on the first bill he signed. He claimed 72 hours to read legislation and has already broken that.
He ran on being a moderate, who would change Washington, but Washington has changed him. - bossm4n, on 11/06/2009, -0/+9Bonus point for quoting Obi-Wan.
- tnvwboy, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8Pelosi just plain sucks. Every time I see her on TV she is spouting crap and partisan politics. She is not constructive. Why is she there? And she was doing this ***** well before Obama came on board. I hope Californians will wake up and vote her out.
(Note: I'm an independent who votes for the person who can do the job, not who quote party politics the best.) - Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2009, -2/+10Really? I thought people that were for Obama were against the wars? But I guess that was before he decided to keep the wars going. Or was it being against the spying? But I guess that changed when Obama kept the spying. Maybe the FISA, nope he continues that as well..
- Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8 And it is off the page. I wonder how that happened?
- Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8You know, if you just step back from the liberal view for one second, you'd see that they did break a promise. Remember how, why and the reasons Obama got elected? Because people were sick of how government worked. They were voted in for "change" - right? And this isn't change, nor has a great many things Obama has done - and you are wondering why people are pissed?
Seriously? - snotrokit, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8Well of course she won't put this horrible ***** bill online. It would exposed all of the them for the self serving corporate trolls that they are. It will be years before we truly learn about all of the loopholes, paybacks, shady deals, and the like that this thing contains.
Too bad they don't work for us anymore. - danielttt, on 11/06/2009, -14/+21Leftist's pledge is an oxymoron
- DaviDTC, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7What is there to debate? Maybe you should get it started as there is nothing to debate. She isn't putting the bill online like she said she would.
- Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7"Beware those who would deny you Knowledge, For in their hearts they dream themselves your Master"
- Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2009, -3/+10Why is that? People seemed to be more than happy to parrot it around when they actually bought that line. Now that the line is seen as what it is, the people that bought into it, don't want their noses rubbed in it?
Is it better to say, "Now, what did we tell you was going to happen? or maybe "See, I told you so!"? IMO, a friendly reminder of how so many people got fooled so easily, is much nicer than it could be, and maybe nicer than it should be considering the cost of that mistake. - SandyLanders, on 11/06/2009, -20/+27The suffix, RAT, in DemocRAT is befitting of this left wing loon. When congress is rebalanced in 2010, even if the cRATS still have a majority they will can Pelosi.
- PeanutCheeseBar, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7Why is this coming as a shock or surprise to some people? Pelosi has shown her true colors on multiple occasions in the past, what made anyone think this time would be different?
- inactive, on 11/06/2009, -2/+9Here on Digg, the liberals like to live in a bubble.
For this reason, I will be shocked if this news makes the top 10. That space is reserved for anti GOP and Fox News propanda. - rignopolis, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7Washington hasn't changed him. He is a Chicago politician - plain and simple.
- Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7And it is off now. Well America, there you have it.
"Beware those who would deny you Knowledge, For in their hearts they dream themselves your Master" - Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2009, -1/+7Chuck - You are aware that those wars are still going on right? The spying, yep, that's continuing as well. As is the torture, the renditions and secret prisons. Did I mention that the Patriot act is still active and extended? Ohh and those troops are still dying...
This is in addition to all those things people disliked about Bush, so I find it funny that some think it is only about "this" item. It isn't. - Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2009, -1/+7True, but what exactly does this have to do with the topic? All politicians are crooks?
- inactive, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6LOL...anyone really surprised by this???
- Hotjoelove, on 11/06/2009, -1/+7you know, it should be posted, and for longer then 72hours. Why not from when the time it was written and on?
- Demaskee, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6A Democratic controlled legislature.
- govsucks, on 11/06/2009, -3/+9Really, thats the wrong question to ask. There is no telling where it could lead. Probably some hellraiser ***** in that box.
- Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2009, -2/+8What? I thought Change had come to America?
Ohh, you mean he was lying, just like the libertarians said he was. - pinchduck, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6It's like Patriot Act II. More secret laws and historically high spending. Hurray!
- IKORKYI, on 11/06/2009, -2/+8i think the "lefties" don't like Pelosi either - i don't...it may shock you, but they aren't just tearing up republicans because they're republicans (all of them).
- Demaskee, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6Wow, so continuing on your flawed point of view:
1) There is no need to post any bills for the American public to see ahead of time because someone can alter the bill before the vote.
2) Politicians do not need to be held accountable for their lies because everyone does it.
3) As long as someone else made a mistake in the past that was worse than the one you are going to make, it is ok.
On one hand I'm left scratching my head; on the other hand I am getting great insight into the mind of a liberal. Frightening. -
