- vault, on 05/31/2008, -1/+13It's amazing what digg has devolved into...some of these comments are unbelievable.
- zspade, on 05/31/2008, -1/+6While it's disappointing that it took us so long to discover what it is exactly that makes breast cancer survival so unpredictable, we now know what one of the major responsible agents for the more aggressive of the cancers is. Finding the cause is half the battle.
- mCanada, on 05/31/2008, -2/+6First off: from sockpuppets to swatward - you are all morons. Secondly this is a horrific disease and even with all of the attention it does get, it is insufficient. Cancer is the black plague of the 21st century. Instead of wars and weapon systems we should be allocating more funds to further this research. It will affect everyone at some point.
- inactive, on 05/31/2008, -0/+4Sir, your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
- 1aPowerDigger, on 05/31/2008, -0/+4"Mutation Spells Bad News for Breast Cancer Patients"
Well... stop casting mutation spells, duh! - inactive, on 05/31/2008, -0/+4Guys can also get breast cancer.
- NathanielJ, on 05/31/2008, -0/+4Beast cancer? Mutation sells? Breast cancer patents?
No seriously, I have no idea what you were going for there. - Charlie101, on 05/31/2008, -0/+3For some reason i read that as if there was a comma after spells
- Chalks777, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2I was wondering why mutation spells only affect those with breast cancer. >.>
- Metasquares, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2Testicular cancer has a very high survival rate, even in stage IV. Prostate cancer, OTOH...
- Metasquares, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2Throwing more money at it won't help. There's plenty already.
What we need are *minds*. People need to be encouraged to innovate. We also need to stop making people feel ashamed when they go after the big problems - "I'm trying to cure cancer" shouldn't just be some silly childish aspiration; it should be something a scientist can legitimately say and do. - NathanielJ, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2Where the hell do you people come from? I honestly don't think I've ever met anyone this dumb in real life and it kinda blows my mind.
- graduisic, on 05/31/2008, -6/+8These comments suck.
- rockrapdude, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2Um, hello? Cancer has always been with us. Nowadays it just gets more attention.
- zspade, on 05/31/2008, -1/+3Enjoy your testicular cancer, sir.
- SirPopper, on 05/31/2008, -4/+51: Even if more rarely, also men can suffer of mammary cancer.
2: How are they planning to help women to get to know the type of enzyme they have is modified or not? - toeMas, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1Jenna Jameson is gross tho
- Ellipsys, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1We are finding more and more that relatively small genetic differences are affecting the success rate of treatment for chronic and deadly diseases. Take a look at the HLA-DR4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HLA-DR4
- _skin_, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1What?
- simplysoleil, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1i don't know why you guys are so ignorant.
alright, men, i get it. you're guys. breast cancer doesn't affect you, right? WRONG! along with man breast cancer, you should be concerned about women worldwide.
it's pretty much a proven fact: guys. like. breasts. so you males should be HUGE advocates of breast cancer research!
seriously, breast cancer is no joke. and i hate to be a female objectifying another female, but i have to put it in perspective for you male chauvinistic pigs out there.
how would you like it if, say, Jenna Jameson had to have a mastectomy? NOW who's crying the river? - Metasquares, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1Its resistance to chemotherapy is probably tightly intertwined with its lower survival rate. It's a statement of the inadequacy of our current treatment methods if nothing else. Perhaps it will lead to a targeted therapy in the future, however.
- fubarific, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1I guess my Granny hasn't run in with that Mutation then, she has won that battle twice now. :)
- simplysoleil, on 06/04/2008, -0/+0thanks honey (^ is my boyfriend)

- johnstar, on 05/31/2008, -11/+1Read the title and all I can think of is total recall.
- swatward, on 05/31/2008, -11/+1That would be awesome if the title was misspelled so we could make hilarious puns about it.
- inactive, on 05/31/2008, -14/+1What about MAN BOOBS? ... MyBabyMan you should have those checked out.
- sockpuppets, on 05/31/2008, -17/+2Yeah but think about all those awesome mutant powers you'll have while you're still alive.
- Oea420, on 05/31/2008, -17/+2I wasn't sure but I had a feeling a couple people in this thread might want to watch Rick Astley sing "Never Gonna Give You Up".
It's quite a refreshing video, the african american bartender gets me every time!

- inactive, on 05/31/2008, -16/+0Even more money will be given to breast cancer research and taken away from other kinds of cancer research.
lolsexism - inactive, on 05/30/2008, -22/+2Just one of the many reasons why I'm glad I'm not a woman, but thank God for women! :-)
