- inactive, on 02/01/2009, -1/+153'We have secretly replaced her contraceptive with a fertility pill. Let's see what happens?'
- InfiniteNothing, on 02/02/2009, -2/+85I'd bet $20 she wasn't using the pill perfectly.
- tange1, on 02/01/2009, -7/+85What is she doing, shoving these pills up her ass? Those things work when taken correctly...
- anklesnap, on 02/01/2009, -0/+73wow, she really took that .1% chance to a whole new level
- emt1451, on 02/02/2009, -1/+56***** no! These are horror stories that I do NOT want to hear about.
*plugs ears* lalalalallala - fefu, on 02/01/2009, -17/+69*****. The pill, when taken everyday according to the directions, prevents pregnancy. Maybe she took some St. John's Wort or an antibiotic that can cause the pill to be ineffective, but she probably just didn't want to work or something. I don't believe in accidental pregnancies in this day and age. She got pregnant because she wanted to.

Failure rates (first year)
Perfect use 0.3%
Typical use 8% - jbcoyle, on 02/02/2009, -0/+35This is my worst nightmare.
- PGPirate, on 02/02/2009, -0/+33FUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK, are you sure you're pregnant? Yes?! With TWINS?! TWO TWINS?! Is that possible. FUCCK my super sperm
- Frostek, on 02/01/2009, -2/+33Why's she proud?
- leaprinces, on 02/01/2009, -1/+30 24 years old and already two sets of twins ?! They are giving their best, I must say!!!!!
- InfiniteNothing, on 02/02/2009, -1/+28Alot of people forget to use a backup method while on antibiotics.
- vurdillac, on 02/01/2009, -2/+28That's one obstinate vagina.
- AmyVernon, on 02/01/2009, -9/+35Not always. A friend I've known since sixth grade got pregnant two times in her life while on the pill, having taken them properly and never missing them. For some people, they just don't work. This woman is obviously another one of those people.
- drewhoo, on 02/02/2009, -1/+25It sure does, is the math a bit overwhelming for you?
- paulsabo, on 02/02/2009, -0/+21"But when Carly missed a period and started being sick, she may be pregnant."
How many mistakes can you find in this sentence? - GrammerPants, on 02/02/2009, -3/+22Except as pointed out a few times in this thread the pill isn't 100%. For a small number of women it doesn't work. Can't fight the science on it.
- kingofinternet, on 02/01/2009, -5/+22that's one fertile broad.
- jayb1rd, on 02/02/2009, -1/+18The pill is not advertised to be 100% effective because it accounts for human error.
Women who weigh more than 150 pounds need to be advised to go on BC with a higher dosage such as Depo Provera, or Nuvaring which delivers the hormones right to where they need to go. She was either not taking the pill as prescribed, or she was not taking the correct dose.
/female - Patiiee, on 02/01/2009, -1/+17Guess nothing in life is a sure bet. Costly to say the least.
- GregFD3S, on 02/02/2009, -0/+15"Mine tasted like strawberry."
- CrazedLeper, on 02/02/2009, -2/+16She's lying, she never took the pill. She's setting him up for one hell of a child support bill.
- clichecow, on 02/02/2009, -0/+14The odds are 11.3 mil to 1...and theres 6 billion + people in the world. I'm not all that impressed.
- form3hide, on 02/02/2009, -0/+14buddy, i hate to break it to you, but it wasn't the bill who turned her into an uber bitch. the uber bitch was always there. perhaps in hiding, but always there.
- Fozefy, on 02/02/2009, -1/+14That's basically where the .1% comes from, there are very very few instances of the pill not working while taken correctly. It would be a far lower percentage if you took out the "human factor."
- hootie233, on 02/02/2009, -2/+14doesnt 2 sets of twins = 4 kids?
- sqrt2, on 02/02/2009, -1/+13Does she know that you have to take the pill EVERY day?
- cherrysoda22, on 02/02/2009, -0/+12But then you have all the OTHER things to worry about.
Underweight/Overweight
If you take it at the EXACT SAME MINUTE, HOUR, everyday (yes, it does make a huge difference)
Antibiotics and other medicines
your own body's natural rhythm and anything else wrong with you (endometriosis for an example)
etc etc
Oh I know there's more but i have to get going, but there's a reason those little booklets that get included with your pills are HUGE. - FishHammer, on 02/02/2009, -2/+13What is up with this "THE PILL WORKS GOD DAMN THIS LADY OBVIOUSLY WASNT ON THE PILL" garbage? She was on it. It's not 100%. Enough with the willful ignorance.
- lead2thehead, on 02/02/2009, -1/+12I have a feeling that the .1% statistic comes from women who were taking it improperly. I know plenty of women who skip days, they take multiple pills to catch up.
It's also possible that one out of every thousand women is lying. - MaTT2011, on 02/02/2009, -1/+12BECAUSE! Every living being on the planet can reproduce and when she does it its "SPECIAL!"
jeesh, how people are proud of HAVING babies is mind blowing. People being proud of RAISING them, well thats more impressive depending on the results. - InfiniteNothing, on 02/02/2009, -1/+12How do they prove perfect use? Inject the women daily with blood screens for other chemicals (like antibiotics)
- Gonasadude, on 02/02/2009, -2/+12Give that bitch a refund.
- josepablos, on 02/02/2009, -3/+13EPIC FAIL?
- carbonetc, on 02/02/2009, -0/+10Ditto.
- fxu1989, on 02/02/2009, -0/+10So they were a mistake...
I wanna see the kids' faces when they read this story in 13 years. - kingmanic, on 02/02/2009, -0/+10The majority of pill failures is improper use or a bad dose. However there are some who don't respond in the same way to the pill.
- BoxAdorable, on 02/02/2009, -0/+10No, the pill works on a varying level of estrogen and progesterone meted out over the 28 day period of time. The estrogen and progesterone prevent an egg from being released which is what keeps most pregnancies from happening. Women *can* have relative immunity to the hormones, its one of the reasons there are so many different kinds of pills with varying amounts of hormones in them.
- InfiniteNothing, on 02/02/2009, -5/+15The only mechanism I can imagine that would cause it to not work in "some women" is that the woman is really fat and thus needs a higher dose.
- herriojr, on 02/02/2009, -0/+10So, you people do know that when a woman is overweight, the chance of the pills not working increases, right?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/12/29/health/w ... - linagee, on 02/02/2009, -0/+9She was just looking for an excuse to break up with you because she was cheating.
- cuevas4711, on 02/02/2009, -0/+9You were all accidents!
- Ouchimoo, on 02/02/2009, -0/+9Sounds like it's time to switch to a more permanent method.
- Jeeto, on 02/02/2009, -1/+10I was going to respond with the exact same thing.
- ArJooDeJew, on 02/02/2009, -0/+9Mmm. Ovulicious.
- PhillyOC, on 02/02/2009, -1/+10It's a bird, it's a plane, it's SUPER-OVARIES!!!
- foxymcfox, on 02/02/2009, -0/+9If they have any googling skills at all, no one will have explain it to them...they'll just find this article.
Google, teaching our children one search result at a time. - inactive, on 02/02/2009, -2/+11That's what abortion is for.
- TechnoRabbit, on 02/02/2009, -4/+12Yeah, because nothing's funnier than forcing pregnancy on someone. Ha. Ha. Ha. Yeah. Changing someone's life in an irreversible way is such a fun thing to do! Yay! You're an awesome person!
