Outlandish price means that most of the population can't afford the drugs, even with insurance co-pay, which in some cases causes the patient to purchase generic drugs, which may not be as affective and drives the cost higher for the non generic drugs. This also creates a generic drug industry costing billions of dollar, (which could go to lowing the price of non generic drugs), which makes you ask yourself, would all of this be necessary to recoup the research cost, when they could just lower the price of the non generic so more people can afford it. My reason? More affordability means more purchases; more purchases means more profit; more profit means pharmaceutical companies get their return faster. Am I being to logical here?
