- lOvOl, on 10/26/2007, -33/+260Oh boo hoo! Feminists made their bed, now they have to lie in it alone with their cats. I hope that fulfilling high-powered career of 60 hour plus work weeks with no time for a "relationship" makes all of you feminists happy in life. Also, I hope that you don't actually believe that when your biological clock starts ticking and you get the baby rabies, that you also don't expect men to be waiting in line to get married to you whenever "you" feel it is ready to settle down. If you wanted to snag a husband, you probably should of started looking for one back in college at the latest. Most (certainly not all) women past age 30 are used/damaged goods by that point, but I suppose your women's studies college professors told you that women become sexier as they age just like they told you that all men are rapists and abusers.
Oh and last but not least, you might of been a good ***** for a lot of guys during your 20's when your boobs didn't sag and your vagina didn't look like an Arby's roast beef sandwich, but now please don't expect that any decent man will want to marry you after you have slept with a hundred guys already because in most cultures around the world, that is the textbook definition of a whore. - crillbilly, on 10/10/2007, -10/+117Duh, we get Halo, and you get periods.
Men: 1, Women: 0 - KevenM, on 10/10/2007, -11/+81Woman: Why can't we talk about our feelings? You're so insensitive...
Man: I'm hungry. - SteelChicken, on 10/26/2007, -14/+79a little angry (whens the last time you got laid)?
but otherwise spot-on...the problem with women is they are NEVER happy. They always want more or better. - TheHydrogens, on 10/10/2007, -7/+68"Arby's roast beef sandwich"..... that is one of the absolute best comments I have read. Ever.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -14/+66Digg this man's comment, for the love of humanity!
- seraph582, on 10/10/2007, -3/+45It's societal, and there are several, several reasons. The first two that come to mind for me are:
1.) look at any makeup/lotion/clothing ad - they're targeted at women, and brazenly insinuate that beauty is only achievable via "surgery, OR our fine product." I saw an ad on TV that opened up with the words, "if only surgery wasn't necessary for *generic beauty feature.* Well now it's not! New maybelline/clairol/whatever product such and such!" The collective self esteem of women is in constant checkmate should they be the kind to wear makeup or watch television. Magazine covers are worse - they'll take a normal picture of a skinny celeb and then make them appear skinnier and smooth out ANY imperfections, and then throw in all of these kinds of ads inside the magazine. Who's fault is this? It's hard to say, but anyone with half a ***** brain can see RIGHT THROUGH IT.
2.) At kid/teen levels, boys are into hobbies/interests that lead to more practical things. Girls, on the other hand, are involved in more trivial endeavors/hobbies. Sure, girls grow up fast with the whole societally accepted relationship obsession around early teendom, but that trivial interest lasts all the way through the pivotal years of teenagerdom into twenties, and all the while, many males are partaking in more applicable, marketable interests/hobbies that can lend themselves to tradeskills -- ie: cars, computers, etc. It's a shame, too. Industries as "cool" to males as computers, cars, etc could be MUCH cooler with more girls in them. - hoowahman, on 10/17/2007, -8/+49Girls are crazy
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/10/2007, -12/+47I play Halo.
And I can skip my periods (the Pill FTW). :) - f4nt0m4s, on 10/10/2007, -7/+41no *****, work sucks...welcome to what men have been putting up with for hundreds of years
and women wonder why their husbands want a warm meal and quiet when they get home - BarbaraKolbe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+30Link to NYTimes article: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/26/business/26leonh ...
"Not surprisingly, men and women often gave similar answers about what they liked to do (hanging out with friends) and didn’t like (paying bills). But there were also a number of activities that produced very different reactions from the two sexes — and one of them really stands out: Men apparently enjoy being with their parents, while women find time with their mom and dad to be slightly less pleasant than doing laundry..." - seraph582, on 10/10/2007, -9/+39OH.... MY.... GOD....
I just had an argument with a chick about this SAME ***** THING and wish I had the gaul to say that to her!
YOU, SIR, ARE A GENIUS. - Marrach, on 10/10/2007, -10/+38I spend a whole day at work-- Worrying about my Job. Worrying about customers. Worrying about my boss. Worrying about Bills.Oh! and Worry about female workers who don't want to work. Worry about Female workers who spend all the goddamn day on their damned cell INSTEAD of the spreadsheet we need. Then I'm damned *****-all tired.
And they think I'm gonna shlep down to a bar, and talk to some penniless female nobody with her behind perched on a stool and come up with somthing 'Witty' and 'Sexy' to entertain her?
And for what? A Kiss??? The joy of buying her whatever her penniless desire whines for?
When I stopped chasing the skirts, Life got a hell of a lot better. After all, I don't need their money. They ain't got none. But they Need MINE.
Face it babes, It ain't your choice anymore. And the High School Prom was a Loooooong time ago. - wtfpwned98, on 10/10/2007, -5/+29Then: Oh no, women aren't happy...they should do more of what men do.
Now: Oh no, women aren't happy...so men should do more...so that nobody is happy!?!? - zengonzo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23No, really - he wanted some European barbarians to give her a talking-to.
- TheHydrogens, on 10/10/2007, -3/+23I call the guys I know that sleep around sluts also. I'm all for people sleeping around if that is their thing, but don't think anyone will call you a catch after you sleep with a different guy every weekend. I commonly hear guys that do this referred to as "scumbags" and girls that do this as "sluts". People are judgmental and thats the way it is, as far as I am concerned people can sleep around and spread their gonaherpasyphilaids all they want, I'll stick with my one girl.
- epj3, on 10/10/2007, -6/+26Yup. They wanted to work and earn as much money so bad and look what happened. Next thing you know, men will be outliving women.
- misfit410, on 10/10/2007, -6/+26They were happier before they fought for "Careers", now they realise that working sucks and noone REALLY wants to do it, we just have to....
Men we let this one slip by, we should have jumped on the chance to swap places with the women, letting them work while we sit our asses on the couch watching TV all day... how did we miss that? - Akaji, on 10/10/2007, -4/+23Anyone who isn't a moron can easily start a family on 45k a year.
- IEatHamburgers, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18Your wife is both your parents? Congratulations, you won the *****-up inbred hillbilly award for 2007!
- jessdub99, on 10/10/2007, -13/+30For me personally, this is dead wrong. I see nothing but pissed off guys who are unhappy because all of the women they're trying to settle down with turn into whores and break their hearts. They end up hating women while the women end up jumping from guy to guy to guy to guy.
- seraph582, on 10/10/2007, -5/+21oh? Look at engineering fields. Liberal Arts != education.
Oops, you're *dead* *wrong.* - clemsontigers, on 10/10/2007, -8/+24So can we now finally cut the crap that being a housewife is just as hard as holding a traditional job?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16I did that for about 6 months when my son was 2 years old. I cooked, cleaned, and took care of him. And you know what? It was ***** AWESOME. I think at the time I was playing Goldeneye 64, mostly during his nap time. The house always looked great too.
I also learned how to make really good sun tea. :P - MercFox1, on 10/10/2007, -5/+20As long as the game's on and there is beer in the fridge, most guys are really happy.
- Unlgued, on 10/10/2007, -5/+20Oh my God.... epic.
- gerbalblaste, on 10/10/2007, -14/+27thats not women, thats americans.
- zengonzo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Bitter is what men identify in women as damaged. So looks like we're all damaged.
Only thing you can do is hold out until you find someone who proves herself and doesn't treat you like *****. Same goes for men and women. - offwithyourtv, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Well said. I think a lot of women are less happy because of the stress they put on themselves to try to live the way Cosmo tells them to. I've seen many of my other female friends and acquaintances struggle with their happiness while smearing strange chemicals on their faces to try to be "pretty" and being overly concerned with what others think about them. I guess it's hard not to be insecure if you always compare yourself to an airbrushed chick on a magazine cover, but it's not hard to just avoid looking at those kinds of magazines. You're also right on with number 2. I've always had more practical interests like technology (which probably is a given since I'm on digg) and now that I'm in my mid-twenties I'm really starting to see how much happier I seem to be compared to many of the other women I grew up with, all because I chose not to concern myself with trivial matters. It's unfortunate, really, seeing some of them now.
- sbader, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11So women never get dumped? or have husbands cheat on them with that young secretary at work once they are in their 30's?
- mcballz, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13Women only want the "good parts" of equality.
I doubt they want to start paying for dates, being mailed draft registration when they hit 18, holding doors for men, buying guys drinks at bars, or be expected to be the bread winners of the family. - Willie0248, on 10/10/2007, -4/+14Yeah, but his comment gets over a hundred diggs while yours gets buried down. This is because his rings true and everyone knows it, while you just inserted some snarky wishful thinking into a copy/paste job.
- Leo21k, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11I wish I could be a house husband, less stress so I'd live longer.
- Bawk, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12I thought the second line to that was supposed to be "I FEEL hungry, now go make me dinner."
- Leo21k, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10I'm a hell of a lot happier being single then I ever was back in my past 2 serious relationships. Being lied to by someone you trusted and being cheated on can break a persons spirit.
- lansuggs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Two-way street. Men get the "chauvinistic pig" stereotype all the time.
- ladyarcher85, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9My parents were able to raise us well despite the already low economic standards of my country and we are are just average folks here. My mom stayed at home to raise us while my father was the one who earned.
Its called priority spending.
When I look at how most affluent/well-off countries especially in the west spend their money, I no longer wonder why even if they make a ton of money they are still neck-deep in debt.
Seriously, no one needs the latest flat screen tv, gaming console, computer, cellphone, trips etc when you have a family to raise. But most just want to keep up with the Jones'. And if I'm wrong, pray tell what are shows like Cribs, pimp my ride et al actually promote? hmmm - diggduggjoe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8What happened? My wife dropped 2 kids and she is not even 5 ft tall. She is in great shape. Don't blame everything on being a woman. There is enough self-hate in the world.
- kmesp86, on 10/10/2007, -5/+13Digg: No girls alowd.
These sexist and chauvinistic riots are becoming a problem. They are getting as bad as the anti-religious (who are we kidding, anti-christian) riots from the multitude of militant atheists.
Now digg, do my bidding and dig me down like the fist of angry god.
You know you want to...

- bigdaddyguido, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10While I must admit many of the boy's (for mature males should certainly be more constructive) comments above your post are a little harsh, but the truth of the matter may lie in just that kind of attitude. We must know that one has a lot of control over their attitude based on how they choose to react to others comments. The fact that men are willing to be called disgusting slobs and represented on television by such hero's as homer simpson while the "fairer sex" are "sugar and spice and everything nice" hints at the fact that men are more willing to take things in jest and let it ride. Men are hardly more mature than women, but they don't spend hours complaining about each other or events immediately in their life as seemingly a majority of women do.
For the most part, the only time men complain like this is when the person listening is a women. It makes sense that if men are only hyper-critical of events relatively distant from their life (sports, politics, technology) that they find it easier to relax in their everyday life and enjoy their free time than all these women who spend all day complaining about how those close to them anger them or, even worse, how they feel about their looksfeelings. It has to make it much harder to let go. - JFitzpatrick, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11One of my female students busted out with this comment the other day: "It isn't fair! There isn't enough time for a woman to have a successful career -and- spend time with her family!!!!" I couldn't even keep a straight face. My response was "What do you think men have been facing since the dawn of time? Men have been trading their life force away via work to ensure the safety and prosperity of their families for millenniums. You have one or the other. Work and make money or spend time at home with your child. Women are simply finding out how crappy it feels to be away from your family as much as men always have been."
- Leo21k, on 10/10/2007, -10/+17Lot of us ar bitter because we've either been cheated on by women, dated a women that dumped us because she needed more time for her career, or didnt want kids.
- ZanCakes, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12I can honestly say I have never encountered a woman like this - ever! Where are you meeting these people? Clubs? Bars? My god if these are your ideal places for meeting a nice woman and settling down then you have issues. The whole point of those places is to get drunk and get laid. If you want to meet someone and settle down, join a book club and take the cute nerdy girl out for coffee. For gods sake meet a girl where you can hear what she's saying!
I don't even know why I bother reading comments anymore. My faith in the general male populous has gone very very down. - seraph582, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7i agree with you, though I wouldn't say all of digg is no girls allowed - only 75% of it - the 14y/o boys. There are intelligent people left on digg...
- TheHydrogens, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I think it just needs to be accepted that women are generally irrational and men are generally self-centered. If women would try to think a little more logically and men would try to think a little more empathetically, relationships would be a lot more successful.
And I have to disagree with the "Men are happy because most women spend their lives making it so".... Men are happy because they can be content with being independent of the opposite sex. - minorthreat, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9indeed, Im 25 and I could easily support myself and a wife(if I had one).. I dont want kids now because even though it would be possible for me to support them, Id rather do it in a few years where I would be 100% comfortable doing so. Referring to people in derogatory terms such as "ignorant *****" in fact shows your ignorance and lack of personal success.. If you were to be a somewhat successful person at the age of 25, graduate college and make at least 50,000 a year, you may understand that it would be very possible to be the "main" provider in the family.
- demiurgency, on 10/21/2007, -6/+13You're bitter... and I might be labeled a 'misogynist' (I hate how that word is abused/overused these days) for agreeing with you...but Damn man, you hit the nail on the head.
- Willie0248, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11Wow, there's a lot of truth to that, no matter how much it offends some people.
- ruthless34, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9Hey come on be a gentleman. Its not their fault. They had a 50/50 (almost) chance of becoming either man or woman.
One of the qualities I see in men is the ability to think and sympathise with women and stand up for their rights. I've seen more men who tried to correct me when I use "he" when referring to an unknown engineer/doctor, than a woman.
btw - I'm male. -
