a lot of doctors have attributed the rise in it to the hormones in all the food we eat. I was just shooting the ***** about nutrition w/ my doc and he said to steer clear of a lot hormone treated products if you start to notice something develop. unrelated to eating the food, he said that he had a patient who worked at a chicken farm spraying feed which was hormone enhanced. just from breathing in the dust, he developed a full set of breasts within 6 months of working at the plant. quit his job and within a year they went away.
the verdict is still out on affects from eating hormone treated poultry products because ingesting treated poultry is on the opposite end of the scale from eating the feed going to those chickens - but obesity aside, clinical gyno cases in dudes have been at an all time high in the history of diagnoses.
they were talking about this on the radio about a year ago too, saying that people who are affected by it because of hormone levels - even after getting the tissue surgically removed, the moobs will grow back.

- swiftheart, on 01/24/2009, -0/+3It can hit in the teens, but a surprising amount of guys get it in their 20s and 30s. I think my hormones went terribly out of whack around 27 for some reason.
I gained weight (maybe 10 lbs, which took me from 145-150 to 155-160, and I'm 5'8") but I got a lot more breast tissue for some reason.
I also became crazy emotional, which is why I think it's hormone related. -
