- SirBruce, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1Yes, because since they factored out other known risk factors like behavior, it's not a matter of someone being smarter about their health and then "doing something" about it that makes them healthier. The study suggest simply being smarter and nothing else made them healthier. There could be another behavioral risk factor we don't know about but that smart people unconciously do and this was not included in the study, and this would be an important discovery. But far more likely is that raw IQ measures more than simply being smart; for example, it measures several variables which correlate positively to various behaviors.
