- wejmahtin, on 02/11/2009, -0/+6Rock on with your stem cell research.
- plainOldFool, on 02/11/2009, -1/+7I've already been buried above but I guess I like abuse. I am no fan of the Bush administrations policies on stem cell research. However, it must be noted that this trial was done with adult stem cell research. Bush, moron that he is, was 100% in favor of adult stem cell research and its funding with federal dollars. He (wrongly, imho) opposed federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. Embryonic stem cells were not used in this study.
- XFi6, on 02/11/2009, -0/+6If this goes on towards spine and brain growth, then we have won the game.

I am from and still live in Kentucky and still baffled at this news. - MaxxusFlamus, on 02/11/2009, -3/+8If this works-
How many people have suffered and died for the misguided efforts of the past administration and the evangelical right? - WocCixelsyd, on 02/11/2009, -0/+4If you lived near Louisville you'd know that they do many medical research and experiments, so this isn't that surprising to me. First successful artificial heart transplant was performed there, you know.
- rojano17, on 02/11/2009, -0/+4This just screams zombie outbreak. I approve.
- plainOldFool, on 02/11/2009, -1/+4I agree that the state of medicine would be much further along if it weren't for those who blocked funding for embryonic stem cells. However, my point was that this article had nothing to do with embryonic stem cell research, and therefore, had nothing to do with the scientifically limited numbnuts that were in the White House over the last 8 years.
Meanwhile, I am being buried for stating fact and not joining in with the political circle jerk. - stuffradio, on 02/11/2009, -0/+3The only stem cell research people have problems with is stem cells from a fetus. They are fine with Adult stem cells...
- OneRottenTomato, on 02/11/2009, -0/+3And if it does work, how many who argued against stem cell research will be noble enough to turn down the offer when they themselves are hit with cardiovascular disease. I'll bet they'll be the ones first in line to get the treatment.
- smergs, on 02/11/2009, -3/+61. I'm a Christian
2. I'm for stem cell research
3. I'm a democrat.
Quit stereotyping. - xenex11, on 02/11/2009, -2/+4The U.S. Food and Drug Administration just approved a clinical trial for an ESC (Embryonic Stemm Cell) treatment for spinal cord injuries, thereby making the U.S. the first in the world to conduct a human ESC clinical trial.
So I reiterate, "Can you imagine where we would be now if we didn't have all the retarded Christians holding medical research back for 8 long years!?!?" - Corpiscator, on 02/11/2009, -1/+3Already being done at the University of Miami.

- geesamba, on 02/11/2009, -0/+2John Daniel of Pleasure Ridge Park, a 56-year-old who suffered a heart attack in 1998 that he said almost killed him, was glad to hear about the research.
"If it works and helps people, that would be good," he said. "A lot of people have heart attacks."
WOW! What a difference personal insight makes to an article's credibility! - xenex11, on 02/11/2009, -2/+4Are you retarded? If not then I wasn't talking about you...

- Games4Life, on 02/11/2009, -0/+1I lost.
- plainOldFool, on 02/11/2009, -3/+4I disagree with the Bush administration's views on embryonic stem cell research as well, but you are a tad off here. The Bush Admin was against FUNDING of EMBRYONIC stem cell research. They did allow for funding of adult stem cell research, which was used in this trial, so it would have gone down even under Bush.
Also, the Bush admin was against FUNDING only for embryonic studies. They never put a ban on embryonic stem cell research, just banned Federal dollars going to the task. - spoon088, on 02/12/2009, -0/+1Jews and their blood money.
- Games4Life, on 02/11/2009, -0/+1What?

- Troy64, on 02/11/2009, -0/+1The research in this article was done with adult stem cells, which is what all meaningful stem cell research uses. It has never been illegal to use embryonic stem cells in research, the government was just not funding embryonic stem cells during the Bush administration.
- FunnyBoyz, on 02/11/2009, -0/+0I heard there is a new news about HIV disease as well, we are all improving..
- Ne007, on 02/11/2009, -1/+1Whatever happened those tests that were done 10 years ago? The results were supposed to be in by now.
- richgustavson, on 02/11/2009, -1/+1A fraction compared to the amount of people that have needlessly suffered and died for the sake of religion.
- truthme, on 02/12/2009, -0/+0i saw the results of embryonic stem-cell use in treating Parkinson's Disease many (15-20) yrs ago...it was miraculous! and when i think of all the people that could have been helped/cured in that time, i just want to scream!
we have plenty of great minds in this country that could solve the ethical dilemma for the bleeding-heart dumbasses that consider an embryo to be a person. i'm a Christian, but come on, people....lives could have been saved from a living hell of paralysis, vegetable-like existence, etc. how do you rationalize your "Christian values" that result in so much human suffering. where's the Christianity in that? - xenex11, on 02/11/2009, -4/+4How, just a couple of weeks into the Obama administration...Can you imagine where we would be now if we didn't have George W Bush and the retarded Christians holding medical research back for the last 8 years!?
