- Xaevier, on 07/11/2009, -7/+735And how did he do it?
He quit World of Warcraft. - inactive, on 07/11/2009, -0/+527All power users are.
- Pramma, on 07/11/2009, -0/+502You gave 99% of normal-body-weight diggers hand jobs?
- KenSPT, on 07/11/2009, -16/+503God I have so many friends I want to show this story to. Alot of my friends are fat and out of shape and claim that "physically they just can't lose weight". They blame genetics or their body type, and refuse to admit it's due to their laziness and lack of motivation. This story proves that anyone can drop weight and change their life if they work hard enough.
No, it's not fun every morning for me to wake up at 6:00am before work and run 3 miles and hit the weights, nor do I enjoy always eating healthy as opposed to grabbing a burger at McDonalds, but I do it because I don't want to be a fat slob. Good things in life don't come easy, you need to work.
Kudos to this dude. - inactive, on 07/11/2009, -19/+489I'm still a virgin. :(
- BrokenCircle, on 07/11/2009, -4/+371Sex! It even motivates fat people.
- PxCxG, on 07/10/2009, -2/+349The down side of losing 400 pounds:
"The weight loss left behind great folds and bags of excess skin that had to be removed over the course of more than a year in a series of three operations. At last count, surgeons had removed some 30 pounds of excess skin, and, Smith said, he still needs one or two more operations."
The up side: Getting laid?
"Smith, now 32, would not say directly if he is still a virgin" - Tenebrous, on 07/11/2009, -0/+289I myself lost 175 pounds the "natural" way - i.e. diet and exercise - and this does occur. The human body can only accommodate losing so much before it can no longer keep pace. I was 17 when I did it and three years later nothing has changed. Some day I'll have to get the surgeries that he has had, but for now other things are more important.
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -5/+273Not to my hand! Haha take that!
- Devine122, on 07/11/2009, -3/+255Yes, we know.
- suprfli, on 07/11/2009, -2/+253So wait, you're telling me that with a little exercise and with a healthy diet you can lose weight?
- prettyawesome, on 07/10/2009, -1/+251Touching story, regardless... I'm impressed he could do it without any sort of bypass surgery.
First step to overcoming the mental state he was in as well! - oriondr, on 07/11/2009, -2/+246"I contacted my local TV station for help"
Yeah that's the first place I always think of when I need help... - crimsonblade53, on 07/11/2009, -1/+221Think about how long 650 lbs of fat and oil would burn. It would be like a new star forming...
- Neoanarchist, on 07/11/2009, -1/+209@Tenebrous:
Congratulations man! That is a great accomplishment! - VinnieDaMac, on 07/11/2009, -17/+197Good for him, but seriously, who hasn't contemplated suicide at least once in their life?
- MaxReboCLZ, on 07/11/2009, -6/+170Contemplated suicide by gasoline. Wow. I thought only Vietnamese monks were fond of that method.
- dquan, on 07/11/2009, -1/+156ZING!
- silverchrysalis, on 07/11/2009, -2/+138wow, that guy's been through hell in his life. not uncommon to hide behind food as an escape, kudos to him for overcoming it!
- had3l, on 07/11/2009, -2/+138From now on, if I ever have a problem, I'm calling my local TV station!
- Leezus, on 07/11/2009, -0/+136Digg will miss you, David.
- chadsexingtime, on 07/11/2009, -3/+126"I lost my keys again"
"For the love of god, PLEASE stop calling us. Seriously, get help" - GorfTron, on 07/11/2009, -1/+115He can soon trade his fat and health problems with woman problems.
- brandnewx, on 07/11/2009, -1/+109And you're not in the 1%.
- TheDatabit, on 07/11/2009, -1/+106Only if you also enjoy Twilight
- Beveridge89, on 07/11/2009, -4/+101Honestly, I think there's a middle line between waking up every morning to hit the gym and being a "fat slob," as you put it. If it works for you, great, but for most people (or me, at least) sacrificing a bit of physical fitness so they can eat crap once in a while and not waste every single morning at the gym would be a worthwhile trade off.
- Onethirtytwo, on 07/11/2009, -6/+103I can't gain weight
- JoeB4ever, on 07/11/2009, -11/+105well your user name is "AverageDigger"
and nothing wrong with being a virgin - sharkydog, on 07/11/2009, -3/+97Now, how many of us have contemplated suicide by throwing themselves in a kiddie pool full of gasoline while holding a lit match? Now THAT'S dedication.
- NightC, on 07/11/2009, -22/+111If this guy can do it then all of you fat losers can!
- Presbyterian, on 07/11/2009, -4/+93I once said I'd kill myself for loosing my car keys.Does that count?.
- KingGorilla, on 07/11/2009, -0/+89I don't believe you have a hand. Enjoy your girlfriend
- monodelasno, on 07/11/2009, -1/+88The human psyche is amazingly complex. The same thing that drove him to become the "gelatinous blob" was also that which enabled him to climb back out of his self imposed hell.
- undervalued, on 07/11/2009, -2/+88I have this jar of peanut butter I can't open.
- VinnieDaMac, on 07/11/2009, -0/+85Probably not, but 410 lbs is a lot to lose in 3 years.
- HisHighness, on 07/11/2009, -1/+84I thought about it every day for the past year, up until about a month ago. And off and on before that since I was 13. (I'm 30 now)
I know it sounds kind of harsh, but people who haven't lived through being involuntarily celibate, who haven't felt the constant rejection and despair that accompanies it can't possibly understand what it's like. They can empathize and offer support but they can't know what it's like. And I'm glad, because I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. - monodelasno, on 07/11/2009, -4/+81According to Freud, it's the reason for everything
- VinnieDaMac, on 07/11/2009, -0/+75Thank you for having the courage to say it. I can honestly say that I've been there and know how you feel. Up until last year (I'm 23 now), I've been pretty much involuntarily celibate also and thought about it many times, although it was probably more curiosity than desire like undervalued said above. In public, I'm generally a pretty happy person, but when I'm at home by myself, I just feel extremely lonely and depressed...
- SlayerX91, on 07/11/2009, -0/+71Holy *****. . . That was probably the most inspiring thing i have seen in years. . .
I know i'm out of shape and in need of some working out, i'm just so grateful i haven't come close to the point this poor guy was in when he finally started. I just can only hope i can get as motivated as he is. - Podunkparte, on 07/11/2009, -4/+69Easy to do when the hammer you're holding weighs 85 pounds. Why did it take him 6 months to put it down though?
- BREZZZ, on 07/11/2009, -7/+71I did not think that occurred in people who take the natural route.
- monodelasno, on 07/11/2009, -3/+66Please follow through on this guys original plan and kill yourself.
- kmiller2087, on 07/11/2009, -0/+60@psi3
yes, that he bought with diggs. - twishart, on 07/11/2009, -1/+59Maybe you should gain 400lbs, then lose it. That seems to work.
- murrdpirate, on 07/11/2009, -3/+58Saying you physically can't lose weight is a ridiculous excuse. Food and fat are quantifiable energy. Exercise burns quantifiable energy. Burn more energy than you eat and you will lose weight. If you can't do this than you should donate your body to GM because your body must be the most fuel efficient vehicle ever.
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -1/+55Really? I turn to Ja Rule when I need help.
- zeth006, on 07/11/2009, -0/+54I'd probably get sick to the stomach that way.
- TBBucs, on 07/11/2009, -3/+57It only counts if you lose them. Not if you loose them.
- dledtm, on 07/11/2009, -1/+53all he needs are some white sunglasses and JAGERBOMBS!!!
