What a bunch of ***** *****. Maybe if some of their viewers took a hit now and then, they'd be less uptight. - areyouserial, on 10/26/2009, -5/+237Doctor: So why do you need some medical marijuana?
Me: I'm depressed.

demand that they introduce, support and pass HR 2943
the act to remove federal penalties for the personal use of marijuana by responsible adults.
Introduced by B. Frank and R. Paul.
You've heard all the facts:
All the DEA claims of harm are discredited.
Why was it made illegal? American Racism: Harry Anslinger - the first drug czar chief did say: "Reefer(marijuana) makes darkies think they are as good as white men."
and William Randolph Hearst, an American newspaper owner who campaigned for making cannabis illegal did say:
"marijuana influences Negroes to look at white people in the eye, step on white men's shadows, and look at a white woman twice."
The DEA's own judge ruled against the DEA's scare and fraud propaganda: “Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man.”
quote from: DEA Administrative Law Judge Francis L. Young 9/6/88
But spineless politicians hinder correcting a vast fraud... seems people are overgrowing the whimpy government again.
- planetidiot, on 10/26/2009, -4/+127I love it when republicans get angry about states getting more rights and the federal government getting less power.
- SmokeN-DC, on 10/26/2009, -4/+122I for one welcome our skunky green overlords
- CaviMike, on 10/26/2009, -6/+98About frigging time.
"Marijuana is a leaf" ~Ahhnold - govtdoesnotwork, on 10/26/2009, -5/+71For Fox "News" droids like that harpy, the tax & spend drugwar is a religion. To sane people, it's a stupid and expensive policy. What I don't get is how they can call themselves "conservative" and still support wasting all this money & corrupting all these cops and politicians.
- novenator, on 10/26/2009, -9/+71Change you can believe in, but only the first step. Many more need to follow.
- geodebug, on 10/26/2009, -1/+61Immigration doesn't seem appropriate for that list. Not really a vice.
- DLun203, on 10/26/2009, -0/+48I don't get it, every argument for the legalization of marijuana has been debunked...
"It's economically unsound" - Wrong! Being illegal just opens up the black market to it. Taxing and regulating it would in fact stimulate the economy, I don't care what anyone tells you. Even if it nets $5 in taxes, that's 5 more dollars in out gov'ts pocket.
"It's bad for your health" - Wrong! Marijuana is way better for you than tobacco. In fact, CBD (one of the active ingredients in marijuana) has been proven to selectively target and destroy cancer cells. Drinking a 1 beer does more damage to your liver than one joint would do to your lungs. Even natural tobacco (no fertilizers used, no additives, no chemicals added) is more harmful than natural marijuana. I'm not gonna argue that you're better off smoking than not smoking... but I would say that if you're gonna smoke anything, make it marijuana before tobacco.
"It's a gateway drug" - Terrible argument. Marijuana is not a gateway drug. If someone is gonna do cocaine or something, marijuana isn't gonna make them want to do it. Marijuana and cocaine are different drugs completely. One is a stimulant and one's a depressant. Marijuana also doesn't have any physical withdrawal symptoms.
"If you smoke marijuana, you're a pothead" - This one really makes my blood boil. I smoke almost everyday and I'm a student at a pretty good University. TV has made everyone believe that marijuana makes you lethargic and unambitious and it's convinced people that all marijuana smokers do is sit around and laugh at each other. That only happens if you're completely blazed. That's completely wrong. When I smoke, I watch TV, do homework, go on my computer, etc. I pretty much do the same things that I do when I'm sober. The only difference is that I do these things feeling less anxious and open-minded.
Last month, after 1 1/2 months of depression and anxiety, I decided to self-medicate with marijuana (I don't trust pharmaceutical anti-depressants. They have terrible side effects that can make things even worse). Today, I feel almost 100% better. A month ago I couldn't get out of bed in the morning, now I'm not only out of bed, but I'm participating in class more often and hanging out with friends again.
TL;DR - If anyone can give me a good reason to keep marijuana illegal, I'll stop smoking today. Otherwise, I'm gonna keep using marijuana to treat my anxiety and depression without paying any extremely high therapy, medical or pharmacy bills in the process. - mailboxing, on 10/26/2009, -1/+42Holy ***** marijuana is an illegal substance?
I guess I should stop using it then. - ImperialSoren, on 10/26/2009, -1/+41Legalize it you ***** retards. How many times do you have to be slapped in your ignorant faces with reason before you make an obviously beneficial change? ***** you for holding us back all these years.
- CBKBAMF, on 10/26/2009, -4/+401) Legalize marijuana for adult consumption.
2) Tax the hell out of it.
3) ????
4) Profit!!!
Also, legalization of hemp for textile/fuel/and other uses is an absolute must! - hoodedrobin, on 10/26/2009, -1/+34Actually the marijuana you smoke is a flower. Well thats where all the THC is you could smoke the leafs but I wouldnt.
- dreadful, on 10/26/2009, -1/+32I will be glad when the government realizes that people are going to do what they want. And stops wasting so much money on the useless drug war.
- Polycarp87, on 10/26/2009, -0/+31You have already caused too much damage. You have probably run over dozens of little girls on bicycles while going through drive-thru's and not even realized it. Also, you caused 9/11.
- Sabin8, on 10/26/2009, -1/+28It won't be cool anymore because it never was, but it gonna be ***** awesome because it's awesome right now.

- rk23x, on 10/26/2009, -3/+29every argument AGAINST the legalization of marijuana has been debunked.

Can I get my fries extra cripsy? - Beson669, on 10/26/2009, -2/+28I am a republican and I couldn't agree more with that statement.
(maybe I should clarify and say I WAS and traditionally am a republican, but today's modern republican party leaders? no thank you) - WiseGuy1020, on 10/26/2009, -0/+24Smoke less of it.
- iletumi, on 10/26/2009, -4/+27I wish all that was legal in Illinois
Alcohol
Tobacco
Knives (Blade can't be longer then the width of your palm)
Thats all we get out of that list. - BrewBeau, on 10/26/2009, -0/+22This board is singular. So, to make it possessive you need an apostrophe before the "s". Also, a semicolon is appropriate between two independent clauses, but not when there's a conjunction between the two independent clauses. For example, people try to make fun of the stoners on Digg, but they could more easily make fun of monvalley's grammar.
- jsffive, on 10/26/2009, -0/+22You strain the tricomes off the leafs, and make hash out of it.
***** smoking shake. - jsffive, on 10/26/2009, -3/+25If more of them got ARRESTED for merely "doing something", as opposed to "doing something TO someone", then things would start to change.
No. They're on TV. So whenever THEY do something wrong, WE'RE insulated from hearing about it... by them no less!
They're a bunch of hypocritical *****. They can lie us into wars ALL... YEAR... LONG... but let me take ONE... *****... LOUSY... TOKE, in front of them, and see what happens to me... - concusion, on 10/26/2009, -2/+23Legalize now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - geoboy, on 10/26/2009, -0/+20Neocons: Preaching conservative Republican values and getting upset when people actually practice them.
- burbankmarc, on 10/26/2009, -2/+22Just like all those people buying bootleg cigarettes!
- rednip, on 10/26/2009, -4/+23Please cite the sources for your assertion. Saying something doesn't make it true.
- VinnieDaMac, on 10/26/2009, -0/+19who says it won't be cool anymore? drinking is legal and people think that makes them cool.
- PunkHop, on 10/26/2009, -0/+19My friends and I are doing what we can to help. We just made a music video called "Why Weed is Better Than Sex".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxRvBWWkou8 - JigoroKano, on 10/26/2009, -3/+22Hating on recreational drugs is definitive social conservatism.
- SpruceCaboose, on 10/26/2009, -0/+19Prostitution is strange to me. It is legal to give it away, but illegal to sell it. Seems strange, but whatever.
- vapn420, on 10/26/2009, -0/+19dell recently released computers using ubuntu...
New Mexico made medicinal marijuana legal this year...
why don't you like progress?
WHY DON'T YOU LOVE AMERICA?! - Paranor01, on 10/26/2009, -1/+19@JigoroKano: Cannabis is not just recreational. It has many many medical uses. That's why it will eventually become legalized. Not because of the "social" effects.
- Harringstone, on 10/26/2009, -0/+18finally, can we just hurry up with it already
- alexllanio, on 10/26/2009, -0/+17I dunno dude, that looks like its all too much, but... i love America, i think its perfect the way it is right now, but i still think marijuana should be legalized. People need to remember, or experience how good it feels to be in Florida or California again. Legalize marijuana so people can smoke it without feeling paranoid. If we legalize marijuana people with start planting little plants as hobbies which will be totally green. Farming will be something really exciting again, and our economy would grow! So many new jobs, in every single field you can think of. Legalize this amazing new key, which will open so many new doors for America.
- sopwnd111, on 10/26/2009, -1/+18Legalize, not just for people that need it to stay alive, but alos for all the rest of us that don't want a beer or a shot, we want to relax in our chosen way, SAFER than alcohol. SAFER than tobacco... and SAFER than caffeine
- PhilliesBlunt, on 10/26/2009, -1/+16That's not exactly true. There's always some irresponsible grown-up who will grab some beer for the kids. That said, it was MUCH easier to get a bag in High School then a beer.
- anatraj, on 10/26/2009, -0/+15Gambling is legal on river boats in the suburbs of Chicago.
- manshed, on 10/26/2009, -0/+15I am so bored of this sh*t, hurry the fu*k up.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 10/26/2009, -2/+17There are exactly three reasons for keeping marijuana illegal:
1) Ignorance
2) Stigma
3) Corruption - geodebug, on 10/26/2009, -0/+15Ok, I think I get where you were going now.
Well, Hunting and Fishing, and driving too then I guess. - concusion, on 10/26/2009, -0/+15Maybe if you smoked a joint once in awhile you wouldn't be such a jerkoff. Just some advice.
- Jough, on 10/26/2009, -0/+15I still don't understand what is wrong with gambling, and how it is any different than investing in the stock market.
- nepidae, on 10/26/2009, -1/+15Yeah but how will the local cops keep their expensive gear if they can't steal drug money from these people?!
- CBKBAMF, on 10/26/2009, -1/+15I disagree... I live in WA State where we can only buy liquor at a state operated liquor store, and it's taxed up the rear... but I don't see people making moonshine in their bath tubs.
