- SirNoobius, on 10/12/2007, -2/+87so that's how picasso drew those things.
- dominasian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+76all of these are better than anything i can draw, it almost seems like they're each drawn in different styles. #5 looks like a cartoonist's drawing
- andrewrchambers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+44bring back acid influenced music! I'm so sick of music today.
The Beatles, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Jefferson Airplane.... Just any music from the 60's/early 70's is so much more interesting than anything I hear these days.
I'm 21 and never got to experience any of this stuff first hand, however. - iancgi, on 10/12/2007, -10/+49The govt doesn't like the drugs that expand the mind.
- buckynekkid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+36The cats were supposedly drawn by a schizophrenic as he progressed through his illness.
- sicc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31Uh, it's funny because his art gets better the more ***** up he is.
This is his best one IMO: http://www.cowboybooks.com.au/html/acidtrip7.html
That was like right in the middle of his trip lol - russellnation, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24drawing on acid is the best with crayons.
- AkiraXXX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20The artist referred to by "Blah Blah Blah" was Louis Wain. There is a nice bio of him on Wikipedia with links at the bottom showing the alteration of his art as his illness progressed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Wain
- spyrochaete, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20LSD is measured in micrograms. Meth and strychnine are completely benign at such tiny doses. Plus, meth costs way more than LSD. Highly unlikely.
- 81v3d07g0d, on 10/12/2007, -9/+29markers are good too, no toxic ones though you don't want to pass out from the fumes. Ive done some really amazing work (drawings) while having an horrifying bad trip. In addition can I just say how much I miss acid, that I would give just about anything to have access to some. There has never ever been a single thing in my life that effected me for the positive results in my life, and shaped the way I perceive the world around me.
- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Do any tell me I need to save a cheerleader?
- CiXeL, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18"Street acid was usually cut with meth and small doses of strychnine"
geez dude. do you know HOW MANY TIMES that has been proven to be a hoax?
i am SO SICK of hearing that myth over and over and over.
look up the sources yourselves.
you cant fall asleep on acid because of the way it interacts with your brain
and strychnine would kill a ton of people and doesnt cause hallucinations
sigh... - InfamousX241, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20LSD is absolutely my favourite recreational drug. I think everyone should try it at some point in their life.
- seanherman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I've seen this many times before on this exact site. It's always entertaining though.
Does anyone have more information about this experiment? I would love to hear/see more. - coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Yeah, I noticed that as well. I think I like the one right before the one you posted the best. It's just so friggin insane.
All of them done while he was on acid are so much more interesting than the ones that he'd done sober in my opinion. - CiXeL, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16just be careful. its moth to a flame. play with it too many times and you get burned (bad trip)
life is unpredictable. you can try to control set and setting all you like but the unexpected happens
i had a friend who was tripping balls the morning of the northridge quake in california. - Brainfish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14 Upon completing the drawing the patient starts laughing, then becomes startled by something on the floor.
ROFL - CiXeL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14"LSD is something insecure people take to think they are cool."
wha?
youre kidding me
its to have new experiences in life not to prove to people you are cool
caring about what is cool and what isnt cool goes out the window when youre tripping - Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18There was something similar to this except the guy drew some crazy psycho cats! it was pretty freaky, but interesting.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Complete article on the cats by progressive schizo guy:
http://instruct1.cit.cornell.edu/courses/nbb421/student2003/epl8/Blank%20Page%202.htm
Awesomely freaky. - se1zure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11http://www.cowboybooks.com.au/html/acidtrip6.html
that looks good, actually. - drizek, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Havent you ever read brave new world?
- yakoff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12God, I miss that stuff.
- mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10or maybe it's something people take when they want to experience a completely new sensation, one that can't be replicated by any other means. or maybe it's one of a million other reasons. who are you to judge?
- Guitarsenal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Not really. Acid trips typically last eight to twelve hours. They dosed this guy twice, so it's amazing he came down as quick as he did.
- Misogyny, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I weep for you. Seriously. It's something everybody should have a right to experience.
- lemonsensation, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I've got a new business scheme. Trip on acid, draw some paintings, make millions.
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13"You see how far its gotten the Netherlands, that is one respected country right there."
Actually I respect them a hell of a lot... I've met more Dutch people who could fluently speak four languages than I have ones who can't. It's one of the most friendly and welcoming countries I've ever been to.
Besides, if people want to take drugs they should be allowed to, even if it does ***** them up.
R.I.P liberty. - Derrekito, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11@81v3d07g0d
there doesn't seem to be much of a market for LSD, similar is mushrooms. These things can be hard to come by depending on where you live. These days people prefer to be numb to the world as appose to being as much a part of it as possible. Most people I would imagine would dislike LSD and 'Shrooms because their life problems would affect the trip in a very bad way. So instead lets get wasted and smoke out seems to be the attitude. - Chode2235, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Yeah where the hell did it go? I haven't seen any around for a couple years now, but it used to be all over the place for a while. Or maybe my friends all moved onto meth and ruined their lives (and teeth).
- spyrochaete, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12You can't know the benefit until you try it. It's incredibly important to be exposed to different perspectives on your life. It reveals seemingly big problems to be insignificant and easily surmountable, and it reveals to you how much more you have to learn in this world and how minuscule you are. It also reveals how much intricacy there is in the most overlooked places and how inconceivably beautiful and complex our world is.
I can't begin to describe how important it is to try. LSD isn't an answer in and of itself, but it teaches you how to ask questions. - gwinerreniwg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9They're all brilliant, really
- NeoRicen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11It's called Windows.
- dannmann, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10
"Upon completing the drawing the patient starts laughing, then becomes startled by something on the floor."
i laughed so hard at that. mainly cuz i've done that. - asuwere, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Uh No. Millionths of a gram of LSD are disolved on the blotter. It's not much but that's all it takes. You couldn't disolve enough meth on that small piece of paper to do anything. Strychnine is strong but the small dose you talk about would still need to be a hundred times larger than the amount of LSD on the blotter.
There's only so much you can get on that paper. Urban myth chemistry is....funny. Sorry. - Andrewc989, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"2 hours 45 minutes after first dose.
Patient tries to climb into activity box"
Hah! - AK10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I'll give you a hint: Lots of them.
- Misogyny, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I keep a whole portfolio of stuff I've done, indexed by type of drug. I like my Salvia Divinorum stuff the best, LSD would be a close second. Salvia is difficult due to the extremely short trip. A lot of the stuff under "Alcohol" is embarrassingly bad...
- montanna, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I don't buy this either, the LAST thing I could ever do on Acid was sleep.
- CiXeL, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9yeah but just think how much longer it feels like
8 hours = 5 million years - emjaymj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I absolutely love acid, but derrekito is right. Most people who get into using substances do so to ignore their problems, but LSD forces you to deal with everything head on. Your existence is inside your head, and so every little thing you might be worrying about is magnified many many times over.
I've had EXTREMELY bad trips, my whole existence was just hating myself to the point that I was afraid I might become suicidal if it got any worse, because time just slows down and a few seconds can feel like an hour. Still, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, and bad trips can be a VERY valuable learning tool. The single most profound moment in my life was my very first trip. Makes me sad that I won't ever have that back... - yakoff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Acid should be administered to congress, the ones that survive can continue in office.
- nigelelliott394, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@ Misogyny
That sounds really cool, it'd be sweet if you could share some of them with us...in fact...put them all on a website and post it on here. - Eronamanthius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7It's reminiscent of the schizophrenic drawings I saw one time in a psych journal...
I'd like to see this experiment repeated with other drugs - spyrochaete, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7LSD is my favourite too. The moth to flame analogy is false. It's most unpredictable the first time you try it (so start with a low dose). Once you become more experienced you will egg yourself on to delve deeper and deeper.
- DigitalJester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7
'Patient retreated to the bunk, spending approximately 2 hours lying, waving his hands in the air."
' 'I can feel my knees again, I think it's starting to wear off. This is a pretty good drawing - this pencil is mighty hard to hold' - (he is holding a crayon).'
Legendary! I like Number 8 the best. Seems quite abstract. - CBTF, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7FYI: The one with the cats was very interesting indeed. It was not drugs though, rather the artist had a worsening case of schizophrenia. The cat paintings were done over a series of years.
- cyroxos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7marinist : It was probably not due to the drug, and more due to her mental status in general. LSD (As well as any other psychoactive) will increase any already existing mental problem.
- samdotorg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7WE CAN'T STOP HERE, THIS IS BAT COUNTRY!
- marinist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"It's incredibly important to be exposed to different perspectives on your life."
Yeah, but my issue with LSD is you're not experiencing "different perspectives", but more like neuron activity gone amok, and probably some blending of the subconscious with your waking state. I suppose if someone's really locked into left-brain thinking, there might be some benefit if those chemicals don't linger in the brain too long. So my "different perspective" is this: people can learn to access their subconscious/irrational side without drugs, and I'd prefer to have some control over my experiences. Learn to put yourself into a trance, lucid dream, look at things backwards, inside-out, or in reverse. The power is in your mind, not in some drug or sage stoner wisdom. -
