- brjohnson789, on 08/20/2008, -7/+169How about people try what's best: NOT fat AND fit.
- leerayIG88, on 08/20/2008, -3/+105I eat about 8 treadmills a day, is that healthy?
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -0/+85"It's better to be fat and fit than skinny and unfit" said one digger to the next.
- juliohm, on 08/20/2008, -34/+108no way man... fat chicks will never be sexy to me
- Sonan, on 08/20/2008, -3/+73I see how people look at me. The glances when they think I'm not paying attention. I know what they're thinking. I can see the disgust in their eyes. I can't help the way I am. I'm a skinny man.
- mehip, on 08/20/2008, -10/+61Except you are still disgusting and fat.
- dhVyse, on 08/20/2008, -9/+58Fat chicks need love too.. but they got to pay!
- Campog, on 08/20/2008, -1/+46Whoa! Now just hold on a sec! We don't want to do anything drastic here.
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -4/+46NO!!!!!! I like my girls skinny, pale and malnourished. Don't tell them this garbage!
- IbbyIbby, on 08/20/2008, -8/+50lol the problem is that most skinny people are in decent to mediocre shape. There is the odd completely out of shape skinny person *cough*women*cough ...but most skinny guys are still healthier than fat guys. Lets get real.
- ileftfark, on 08/20/2008, -3/+41PROTIP: People come in different sizes, and there are a variety of factors that contribute to overall health. Including how many medical packs you walk across.
- foss3, on 08/20/2008, -4/+39The problem is a fat girl will just think of herself as buxom, when she's gross fat.
- dhVyse, on 08/20/2008, -1/+36Being fat or portly is one thing, but a lot of Americans are just straight up obese.
- teh_techie, on 08/20/2008, -6/+37Expected: MrBabyMan submits article about how being fat doesn't mean you're unhealthy.
Coming up: MrBabyMan submits article about how you can live forever and submit digg stories without sleep... - wwwdot1jesdotus, on 08/20/2008, -0/+24ok so let me get this straight...It's better to be fat and fit than skinny and unfit. We already know its better to be skinny and fit than fat and unfit. So the point here must be that it is better to be fit than not fit?
- suckanucka, on 08/20/2008, -3/+25HOLY *****!
- Methusalah, on 08/20/2008, -2/+24that was implied...
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -6/+27This has been true for a very long time. I hope that people start to catch on. At the same time, as usual will be the morons who think it's OK to be fat.
- gametavern, on 08/20/2008, -7/+26That's ok, I don't think any chicks will ever think you're sexy.
- ZeeZee2k, on 08/20/2008, -0/+19The Olsen twins and Amy Winehouse f***ed up the stats for us skinny people.
- sinurgy, on 08/20/2008, -1/+20Look through this thread, I don't think anyone is catching on.
Skinny and Fit > Fat and Fit > Skinny and Unfit > Fat and Unfit
If you're skinny but can't do 10 push-ups, you are not fit! - catwoman2970, on 08/20/2008, -8/+26uh, it's best to be THIN and FIT. just another article to make fat people feel better about themselves.
- Getdug, on 08/20/2008, -14/+30Oh Puhlease...this is the kind of PC crap that fat people spout all the time to make themselves feel better. How about, it's better to be fit, period.
It's what what's her face from the View used to say when she was huge. If it was really true, why'd she have a life threatening gastric bypass surgery? - warriorscot, on 08/20/2008, -2/+17If you are VERY fit you won't normally be fat but just being relatively fit doesn't guarantee you won't be fat.
I am pretty heavy always have been, but I keep relatively fit I have allot of "skinny" friends that can't keep up with me. I was teaching a physical training class for teenagers not too long ago and out of 20 "fit looking" teens only one or two could keep up with me a not overly "fit looking" twenty something, and all we were doing was some VERY basic circuits.
Looks really are not everything the appearance of fitness is a bit of a sham. - kwasmosis, on 08/20/2008, -5/+20Dude, I think you are totally missing the point.
And to make the point clear Fat, never. Buxom, OH YEAH! - Metatron197, on 08/20/2008, -2/+16giggity
- Procure, on 08/20/2008, -0/+12Protip: 75% of Digg is "IT guys at work".
- dystra, on 08/20/2008, -3/+13i would assume that the ratio of unfit fat peoeple is alot higher than the unfit skinny.
- DeFex, on 08/20/2008, -2/+11Its better to be alive than dead.
- Nosferotu, on 08/20/2008, -0/+9Yeah, how dare they try to be comfortable in their own skin rather than strive their entire life to conform to societal standards? How can we ever be happy if we don't get other people's approval?
- erichw1504, on 08/20/2008, -2/+11Buried for talking about your frame.
- mlvassallo, on 08/20/2008, -2/+10Wow, skinny nerd patrol is out in force today.
- leerayIG88, on 08/20/2008, -1/+8I thought it's you're?
- bipolarruledout, on 08/20/2008, -0/+7You have to define "fat" first of all. Most medical professionals have a much lower weight standard than what the average person would consider "fat". The real medical issues don't really come into play until you hit obease levels and most people skinny or fat could stand to get out a little more.
- mk3k, on 08/20/2008, -0/+7Maybe, nobody knows.
- erichw1504, on 08/20/2008, -11/+18OM NOM NOM NOM
- 0260, on 08/20/2008, -1/+8BMI is *****.
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -1/+7I'm fat and unfit.
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -0/+6i see what you did there and i didnt like it one bit
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -5/+11This sounds like something a fat girl at a bar would say to me.
- ptsuk, on 08/20/2008, -0/+6The data suggest that half of overweight people and one-third of obese people are “metabolically healthy.”
The thing is that what actually is "overweight/Obese" isn't what regular people would classify as overweight/obese. Check out this page
http://www.healthdiscovery.net/links/calculators/b ...
The Tan is grossly Underweight
The Blue is underweight
The Yellow is ideal weight
The green is overweight
The Pink is obese. - Hanzolot, on 08/20/2008, -0/+6Wait, let me see if I've got this right...
Fat, and NOT fit? - TheCasablancan, on 08/20/2008, -0/+6For some people it IS ok to be fat. They lead positive lives, focus on their career, on their family, on being happy in general. They go places, they taste foods, they meet people, they learn... None of that is affected by their % body fat. If they're happy with who they are, why would they want to change themselves?
Personally, I wasn't happy with the fact that I was fat, so I decided to change it. Just like how if I didn't know about a particular subject, I'd learn about it.
It's all very simple, but there are a thousand books on it. It's silly. - Indierocka, on 08/20/2008, -1/+7and "write"
- naszaklasa, on 08/20/2008, -13/+19That is completely no true. I know people who are fat who can jog for 5 miles and people who are "fit" that cannot jog one mile. Go figure.
- coldkill3r, on 08/20/2008, -3/+9"Even those who had just a minimal level of fitness had half the risk of dying compared with those who were least fit...In the study, it didn’t take much to qualify as fit. For men, it meant staying on the treadmill at least 8 minutes; for women, 5.5 minutes."
So I can walk a block away from my house and back and cut my risk of dying in half? Better cancel my gym membership. - hangman16, on 08/20/2008, -9/+15Fat people trying to justify being fat once again. Fat is never healthy, sorry. Here they are just comparing two unhealthy situations and determining which one is worse than the other. It still doesn't mean being fat is healthy which is how some people (fat people) will interpret this.
It's like saying cancer A is worse than cancer B because it kills you more quickly. In the end you are still dead. - hangglide, on 08/20/2008, -1/+7All other things equal, fat people use more soap.
- feliks2, on 08/20/2008, -0/+5Are you saying crack is not healthy?
- hangman16, on 08/20/2008, -0/+5I can picture some girl drunk off her ass getting called fat and then saying this in response, slurring her words.
