- Bixter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Of course HGH works. Art Bell wouldn't give the time of day to something that isn't factually sound.

Aren't you tired from being dug down constantly on every single thread you post? - UltimaNut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Dammit!

people 100 years ago said similar things about not living past 60...you never know - Lynxpro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5
Expect more spam email if HGH causes external organs to grow larger in addition to GH factually growing interal organs larger.
Just imagine in 10 years what a designer drug cocktail of HGH and targeted stem cells would do... - SteelChicken, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Look at the changes in all the NFL players over the last 5 years. Even the free safeties have these huge arms. HGH and roids for the win.
When they are all 50 they will drop like flies.
The candle that burns brightest burns shortest. There aint no free lunch.
Aging has more to do with DNA damage, build up of toxins and other cellular wear and tear. - Ramtech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Although height growth is the best known effect of GH, it serves many other metabolic functions as well.
* It increases calcium retention, and strengthens and increases the mineralization of bone.
* It increases muscle mass through the creation of new muscle cells (which differs from hypertrophy)
* It promotes lipolysis, which results in the reduction of adipose tissue (body fat).
* It increases protein synthesis and stimulates the growth of all internal organs excluding the brain.
* It plays a role in fuel homeostasis.
* It reduces liver uptake of glucose, an effect that opposes that of insulin.
* It also contributes to the maintenance and function of pancreatic islets.
* It stimulates the immune system.

I think a very further research on controlling this hormone might help our people generations to come... - Malshew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4On BBC they have an (almost identical) article stating that it caused the rate of death for people in intensive care to almost double.
- evil-doer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i started taking GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid) for anxiety, etc. and it works awesome. one of the side effects is it causes your body to produce its own HGH. about 5 minutes after taking it you feel this rush which is apparently this effect working. so its like 2 birds with 1 stone. btw GABA is found over the counter at most health food stores.

So if I just sit around all day and do nothing (burning very dim in the candle analogy here) but sit here on Digg, I'll live to be 150? - haggie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3gabba gabba hey!
- klawz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Don't take TOO much then...

Toxicity, side effects, interactions, and contraindications
GABA appears to be safe at recommended doses. There are no negative side effects possible with the use of GABA, however, at high doses, GABA can actually increase anxiety and insomnia. It may also cause numbness around the mouth and tingling in the extremities, de mild nausea, a slight shortness of breath that lasts for a few minutes and temporary tingling of the skin.
- groo68, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3There are more and more people living to 110, and the oldest person was like 120, thats twice 60, it seems a little bit exponential, seeing as 60 was probably less than 300 years ago. And then theres living in a computer.
- Tiabin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yup, I read it. I like the series but think that kind of theory is horse *****. In that series though, it was a specific gene or "key" that they used. So it wasn't intelligence generally speaking... It was intelligence caused by that gene. (I'm sure intelligence is the sum of MANY genes. ;-))
As far as the best and brightest... There's plenty of extraordinarily wise (and intelligent) people that live to old age. Just because someone is extraordinarily creative (i.e. perhaps suffering mild mild schizophrenia -- which is known to increase creativity) doesn't mean that they represent the end all of intelligence. I've seen the same trend... many of the great writers, and poets, etc. died horribley young deaths often to suicide or drug abuse. (Poe anyone?) But the fact is... that *is not* the rule. Madness and depression is NOT a pre-requisite of intelligence, it just frequently accompanies it. - fugrank, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Last time I checked, HGH made short people grow taller, not live longer.
- Torx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I could use a couple of inches.. in height, mind you. Where can i get my hands on some of this hgh? or GABA-DABA-DOO!!
- kamsdigg, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2No. Thats not true. you can read more about hgh at http://www.hgh9.com

- RealityCheque, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4HGH is a pretty effective substance to use for gaining mass. The big downside though, is that it requires daily injections, generally into the abdomen.
It is not surprising that it contains similar side effects as anabolic steroids and prohormones, seeing as how most use it for similar purposes (gaining lean muscle mass). The joint and ligament weakness is a common side effect to steroids as well; the muscles grow at a faster pace than the supporting ligaments and tendons and tend to tear and damage more easily.
Anyone considering using HGH should only do so under a doctor's supervision. - The_Dude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It costs boatloads of money. Hasn't everyone seen the wealthy "young" couple on cable tv? They even started using the guy's body in newspaper ads. Saw one in the NYTimes somewhere, of all places. Anyway, the guy looks amazing, except his body doesn't really go with his head. Slap an old guys head on a body builders torso. Odd..
They had their health meticulously checked out before starting the "therapy" because it does cause tumors to grow more quickly. - shigthenewt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why this talk about HGH anyway, it's not available over the counter. You can get Homeopathic dilutions of HGH from health food stores, but who knows if they do anything at all. And another thing, when will people realize that if they take hormones their bodies eventually stop producing the hormones that they are feeding it. If your body doesn't have to produce a hormone, it won't. So stop feeding yourselves these things and nourish your body instead!
- NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The answer is no. Now let's bury and move on.

- Ender2007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Anyone read the Ender's Shadow series by Orson Scott Card? The author theorized that intelligence and growth were linked to longevity, which is why our best and brightest seem to burn out so quickly and die young. The main character grows into a giant and has a life expectancy of about 25 at the most.
- btgoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I pray to have this much free time...it would be cool.

http://www.hghpills.org/ - manabout, on 03/16/2009, -0/+0It is good to see that some of the hype beyond that ant-aging industry is being exposed. For anti-aging benefits, nothing beats a healthy lifestyle.
http://antiagingproductreviewer.com/10-tips-to-mak ... - rebuilder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1As you age, your body's growth hormone production does start to slow down, so supplementing that will provide some benefits to be sure. However, it also increases your risk of cancer.
- boberto, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Just ask Jason Giambi!
- netbrainy, on 04/11/2009, -0/+0I just checked at http://www.hghforsale.org and as per them HGH can be harmful for health.
- UFOAdmin, on 04/23/2009, -0/+0Yes, HGH Works ( http://www.hghworks.com/ ) i have couple of evidence on that. But it also depends on what kind of HGH you use.
