This video *dramatically* oversimplifies the experience of tripping. To act like it's nothing but a "mental movie" that can either be awesome or scary is so wrong it's downright criminal. It also dramatically oversimplifies what these drugs do in the brain, as there are plenty of compounds closely related to LSD that work almost identically, and yet are not psychedelic at all. To say that it's just "overstimulation of serotonin neurons" is pretty misleading.
If you want to know about what it is that psychedelics do, read the work of Dr. Stanislov Grof, Dr. Rick Strassman, Drs Houston and Masters, Dr. Alpert, Dr. Metzner, hell, even Leary's earlier stuff. These things are not toys, they are serious tools for the exploration of the mind which, used properly, can serve a role in the field of psychology that is analogous to that of the telescope in astronomy. - theskillwithin, on 10/28/2009, -4/+32Of course this is biased towards negative effects, yet is still interesting.

These are the two most important things when it comes to psychedelics. If you mentally aren't in a good place, then you shouldn't take these drugs. If you physically aren't in a safe place/around people you feel safe with, then you shouldn't take these drugs.
