- suntzusputnik, on 02/27/2009, -2/+19women get paid up to $10,000 for their gametes
men are way more generous - njunderground, on 02/27/2009, -5/+19their delicious, delicious eggs
- mycoplasma, on 02/28/2009, -0/+12The other day I saw an ad for some fertility clinic that's willing to pay up $5,000.
But as a digger, you probably can't get much more than $20. - SilverBlade2k, on 02/28/2009, -4/+15$10,000 for eggs, yet not even $100 for sperm.
Discrimination much? - Biscuitz, on 02/28/2009, -0/+9Are there any opinions from women in these comments? Sheesh. It's the man party where they all get together and hate on a woman. Lol
For anyone interested... this is why donating eggs pays a hell of a lot more than donating sperm.

There are (believe it or not) millions of couples out there that simply can not have children for whatever reason, but are perfectly capable of supporting and having them. They are willing to pay top dollars just to be able to become pregnant. Usually, their reasons are due to the woman unable to become pregnant. - josepablos, on 02/28/2009, -1/+8and a men .. $60 for a load..
:( - inactive, on 02/28/2009, -1/+7Why not? Chickens do.
- angryfirelord, on 02/28/2009, -1/+7Supply and demand. Men produce sperm constantly throughout their lifetime. Women only have so many eggs. Therefore, scarcity demands that the eggs are worth more.
- jba68, on 02/27/2009, -5/+10mmm I'd like to scramble some eggs
- Nickolassc, on 02/28/2009, -5/+10Do you think anyone would give me 10,000 for some of my man juice?
Let's face it, as a digger it will never be good for anything else. - onestrawplz, on 02/28/2009, -0/+4Digg IS a manparty, unfortunately.
And about the woman hating: the interwebs bring out the worst in people...it's the anonymity, unfortunately. Most of these clowns wouldn't dare to say some of the things they say here in a public, candid setting. - zbeast, on 02/28/2009, -1/+5$10,000 for egg's... new car here I come.
- MvP1292, on 02/28/2009, -0/+4Unlike men, who produce new sperm daily throughout most of their lifetime, women are born with all their eggs in one — okay, two baskets (ovaries). To be more precise, a woman is born with about one to two million immature eggs, or follicles, in her ovaries.
Throughout her life, the vast majority of follicles will die through a process known as atresia. Atresia begins at birth and continues throughout the course of the woman's reproductive life. When a woman reaches puberty and starts to menstruate, only about 400,000 follicles remain. With each menstrual cycle, a thousand follicles are lost and only one lucky little follicle will actually mature into an ovum (egg), which is released into the fallopian tube, kicking off ovulation. That means that of the one to two million follicles, only about 400 will ever mature.
Relatively little or no follicles remain at menopause, which usually begins when a woman is between 48-55 years of age. The remaining follicles are unlikely to mature and become viable eggs because of the hormonal changes that come along with menopause. - greenwald, on 02/28/2009, -0/+4I have a wonderful child from a donated egg (my wife's eggs were too old for her to conceive). There's an enormous number of ethical and emotional issues around the whole process. Women donors seem to be much more mindful of than the few males I know who have donated sperm about such matters.
That being said my ***** is still confused about the whole event. - onestrawplz, on 02/28/2009, -0/+4It has NOTHING to do with discrimination. Like other posters said, supply and demand. Plus, it's a lot harder to donate eggs than to donate sperm. It takes weeks of homone therapy, and eventually they have to be extracted from the ovaries. It's a much more intense process than simply jerking off into a cup.
It's so hilarious when men cry about nonexistent discrimination. - doctressjulia, on 02/28/2009, -0/+3A 'manparty'? Ooh, where? /s
- suntzusputnik, on 02/28/2009, -0/+3as gross as it is, can't they just catch em on the way out?
- fantasyflamz, on 02/28/2009, -0/+3I considered doing it to pay off some of my college debt, but when I looked into it seriously, it seems as if it's a time-consuming process that takes months and lots of hormones that can mess you up.
- greenwald, on 02/28/2009, -1/+4more like supply and demand
- ZeeZee2k, on 02/28/2009, -0/+3all these years.......should have sold them instead
- lusenok2, on 02/28/2009, -0/+3That's not a scarsity of eggs, it's a scarsity of volunteers who wish to go through that terrible process.
Women have hard time preparing for donation. It's a painful, highly unpleasant and time-consuming procedure of controlled maturating of eggs by using hormones (a month of daily injections and vaginal ultrasounds etc) with possible dangerous complications and unknown long-term consequences which stops many women.
Giving your own baby some random father and abandoning an offspring ... Not many women wish to do this. - drex8, on 02/28/2009, -0/+2Aren't you so smug that you got some!
- mparker21311, on 02/28/2009, -7/+9This is creepy, women are getting pregnant and supporting another woman's genetics. I don't know about you, but most women I know are ***** blocks. So to know women are going through all of this to carry on someone elses genes creeps me out a bit. Women hate each other too much to help support another woman's genes. Hell, women hate each other so much that their friendships seem faked, let alone raise their friend's child as if it's their own.
- spookyttws, on 02/28/2009, -3/+5I can't even get 1% of that for my sperm.
- kanimara, on 02/28/2009, -4/+6Is there a way to steal eggs from my girlfreind?
- leberumen, on 02/28/2009, -2/+4Why don't we start trading organs for cash, too?
for more info got to www.organs4cash.com (jk) - X9001, on 02/28/2009, -2/+4How about their bodies?
- greenwald, on 02/28/2009, -0/+2Bubbadigg, Even though I argued that same point with my wife (to no avail) you could also argue that nature is telling one they should have babies when they are able to at 12 yo and such and that nature will let men breed into their 80's and beyond when they could croak right after conceiving.
- Rowan187, on 02/28/2009, -5/+7WAIT WHAT THE HELL. They said I can't sell my testicle for even $4000, but females can sell their stupid eggs? Lame.
- lusenok2, on 02/28/2009, -2/+4This means your perception of women is wrong.
- doctressjulia, on 02/28/2009, -0/+2It is hilarious! And also, ***** stupid. And predictable. Sigh.
- doctressjulia, on 02/28/2009, -0/+2HA HA!
- onestrawplz, on 02/28/2009, -0/+2It's easy for a guy to jerk off into a cup.
In order to donate eggs, you must go through rounds of hormone therapy (which can have effects on your body and mind), and eventually have a needle stuck up your vagina to extract them.
Since less people are willing to donate eggs because of the side effects and procedure, and less are actually accepted to donate eggs, the payoff is much higher. - knight2001, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1In Canada you get nothing and in many cases would actually have to pay them to take your donation. lol
Not much incentive here to make a deposit. Otherwise many of us would be making money hand over fist... So to speak...
You also can't sell your blood in Canada. - TapTapper, on 03/02/2009, -0/+1A) Eeeew
B) Ovulation happens halfway between menstruation cycles (bleeding), generally 10-14 days after ovulation. By the time there's blood it's too late, the egg is dead.
Women can generally get pregnant halfway between bleeds.
Bleed - - dayspass - - OVULATION (secret and silent, get pregnant) - - dayspass - - Bleed
The "Rhythm Method" tries to explain the cycle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhythm_Method%29
BUT remember that every woman is different, a few ovulate when they bleed, many never do, some do it 2 or whatever days after or before. And BTW: you can't "catch an egg". THAT'S why they get 10,000 for fertility treatments
Just thought you'd like to know! ;) - TapTapper, on 03/02/2009, -0/+1mparker21311: ***** blocks? WTF is that?
But if you mean no sexee, then I guess you're right! Of course! NO ONE is having sex! Obviously your experience of women is universal
THAT'S why the teen preg rate in the UK is at 40% and the world population is driving up at an astronomical rate. - doctressjulia, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1Haha, smug is right! Me too. I need a new car. lol
- onestrawplz, on 03/03/2009, -1/+2@bubbadigg
Ooh, look, internet tough guy.
Get over yourself. - inactive, on 03/01/2009, -0/+1@mparker21311
You have a very negative view of humanity, and women especially. - TapTapper, on 03/02/2009, -0/+1suntzusputnik:
They don't make catcher's mitts that small - Vesuvias, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1... the more you learn...
- inactive, on 02/28/2009, -2/+3Look through her bloodied sanitary napkin. They are viable till 6 hours, so you need to be pretty quick. Use a lens, cos they are kinda tiny.
- doctressjulia, on 02/28/2009, -1/+2Yeah- what you need is a good kick in the crotch. *****.
- HappyHourChris, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1Sperm is a renewable resource.
- doctressjulia, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1And, we care about your pathetic personal life why....?
- mparker21311, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1I hope you're right. In terms of science, I can absolutely understand why they would be so selfish. Men are selfish too, don't get me wrong.
- MadHarvey, on 02/28/2009, -1/+2Not nearly as pricey. $100 dollars for the standard toss n' floss is on the high end.
- STARTSOMETHING, on 03/01/2009, -0/+1I like mine over easy.
- baby2mom, on 07/18/2009, -0/+0Egg Donation South Africa is not about selling your eggs - rather about egg donation - with the emphasis on donation. A small donation is offered to woman for egg donation to keep the egg donation cost affordable. Visit www.http://baby2mom.co.za for more details.
