Koreans in general aren't blessed with double eyelids or high cheekbones, but past decade has seen hordes of Korean girls spontaneously developing double eyelids. Here's a hint: the gorgeous Korean babe you see on TV usually wasn't born that way. Conservative estimates put the percentage of Koreans women who underwent cosmetic surgery at around 50%. And they start young.

Having been married 2 years I can tell you that a women will complain about things only other women would care about. Pretty eyes are nice but unless they're just super out of place then I don't see any reason to mess with 'em.

I agree there is really no excuse for poor hygiene but i will admit I am a little over weight now due to a slow metabolism, a genetic health problem and very bad knees that make it difficult for me to do most exercizes. I guess bad luck makes me irresponsible.

This reminds me of a conversation I once had with a female student when I was in engineering school. I forgot how we got there, but we started talking about people choosing mates based on superficial qualities. I thought women were shallow for choosing men based on the size of his wallet, etc.
There was another female engineering student, who was obese and not even close to attractive. She very smartly said, "You know. I don't think she has a boyfriend. Why don't you ask her out on a date." I viscerally snapped back, "NO!" before realizing what she was getting at.
So, janjamm, I'll ask you the same question. Do you pick the one obese chick when you hang out with your friends at the bar? Or do you start up a conversation with the girl who physically is a little out of your league, hoping to get lucky? If you don't think beauty is a powerful influence the world over, you're simply a fool. If you're a female and not good looking, you have to do *so* much more to compensate. It's not stupidity. In Chinese culture, double eyelids are considered beautiful. Similarly, the "widows peak" hairline is also considered to be beautiful. Someone with both a widow's peak and double eyelids has a significantly higher chance of succeeding in China
