- Merb, on 07/22/2008, -0/+24"Don't multitask: If you are on the computer or have your phone nearby, you may be tempted to multitask. In addition to doing your work, you may want to send emails, update your Facebook page or look at other websites. DON'T!"
It's funny, because right now I'm supposed to be writing a paper on Othello due at 3 AM. - Vodd9, on 07/22/2008, -1/+24Sailing with Captain Obvious aboard the failboat.
- 3MM3, on 07/22/2008, -0/+19Who makes you turn in a paper at 3 in the morning?
- Frost9999, on 07/22/2008, -0/+14This article has some very very basic stuff. Write things down, relax etc. Nothing all that useful there. Better tips would be to learn about memory retention from articles like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forgetting_curve and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaced_repetition
It's also worth noting that your brain works better when you are healthy. So exercise and a good diet are important. - BobOrleans, on 07/22/2008, -0/+7I wanna try this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piracetam - tedrock, on 07/22/2008, -1/+6dammit i thought this had to do with computer memory. :(
- TheMachine1, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4I think handwriting is good even if you can not read your notes. The act alone helps improve memory retention of that information.

thank you and good day - inactive, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Chewing releases adrenaline in preparation for food coming into the body.
This stimulates the mind too and can improve memory by as much as 30%
So a pack of Wriggly Extra really could help you finish med school, or just school school. - jtbandes, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4I remember navigating to this page, but... what was I doing here?
- rigorx, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3My memory is pretty good after I wake up and get going in the morning. However, it seems to be a lost cause most of the night, starting about 4:20pm.
- scy1192, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4I just download a little more if I'm running low.

- inactive, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2Think of the brain as a vast network with every neuron able to connect with every other neuron. This is why computers have yet to compare with the thinking ability of the human brain. It is not yet possible to make a robotic version of all those connections!Realize now that when you stop learning about anything you have once studied or been familiar with, your entire brain suffers a loss and at least a slight decline.
- Kratos76, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Aww. I thought this was gonna be a Windows memory tweaking guide.
- jonesin, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2I have some piracetam, and use it occaisionally. There's a couple things to keep in mind. First, with these type of drugs you need a choline source to fuel the biochemical process. Cheap choline is made from fish and smells like it too. Alpha GPC provides way more of the goodies you need, and doesn't smell. Second, there's a couple other things that are based on the molecular structure of piracetam but are 20-30 times more active. Such as Aniracetam. There's a lot of similar nootropics in the racetam family.
- Carbonlord, on 07/21/2008, -6/+8I think I Brain Dead, oops I meant DUGG!
- inactive, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2"stop smoking so much reefer" should be one of the steps in this article, but that only effects your short term memory for the time you are high.
- upick, on 07/21/2008, -1/+3Chop up for memory.
Otherwise known as CHUNKING... i suggest you listen to Tony Robins he's got some great explinations - Chainheart, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Excuse me good sir, you seem to have a mouse pointer lodged above your cerebellum
- hiPpymIck, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1as said..
mnemonics work
eg digits of Pi (check out BBC from 80s..hilarious)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEFd4tCWtvk - pdavda, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1I have such a bad short term memory I often open a new tab in Firefox only to forget which site I intended to visit. I think its the geek version of walking into a room and forgetting what you came in for.
- Louis11, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1I know it can't compare, but what about artificial neural networks?
- MikeFallopian, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1Drinking to excess is fine - you just have to make sure that you're also drinking when you're asked to recall whatever you learned drunk.
- Shivalyn, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1I don't believe I ever learned a song in relation to colors of the rainbow.
My kindergarten class was a complete waste. - holyskeleton, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1i was gonna comment on the article but i forget what it was about...
- akohut, on 07/22/2008, -1/+2Marijuana affects my memory.
P.S. This list is almost as bad as those heinous "get better sleep" ones. - inactive, on 07/22/2008, -1/+2Stop smoking dope, inhaling chemicals and drinking (to an excess).
Brain cells only come around once. - Gndoab, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1I would say that attention expanding exercises are probably the best bet. Attention is like anything else in the body, it can be trained and increased. Just pay attention to one thing for 5 minutes a day, and every time you notice yourself deviating from that one thing, go back to it.
- inactive, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1You have my word.
Or you could get off your arse and research it yourself. - Vironex, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1No. This is a bad article BECAUSE it's basic. It's useless, stupid ***** that doesn't help anyone.
- Cheeselover, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1And here I was thinking I was clicking the link to some crazy game that would make my brain work better.
- random255, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1More on their minds then EVER before? Vietnam, anyone?
- digjam, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1Focus Factor?...and its FREE too!
- LavaWarrior, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1Did anyone else think they were talking about RAM?
- tastypastry, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1You know when you're a computer geek when you read the title and automatically think of RAM.
- digiframes, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1"Don't multitask"? People are focused to multitask everyday, so that's not gonna happen.
- bdette, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1i forgot.
- aronnyc, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1No offense, but what is this guy's qualifications? Are these just common sense tips or are these things that are proven to improve your memory neurally?
Interesting thing about writing things down, btw. Before the invention of writing, people were able to memorize epic texts like Homer's Iliad. - int10h, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1[citation needed]
- FinThingSucks, on 07/22/2008, -0/+0Real way to maximize memory?
Remove crayons.
http://www.brainfleas.com/WindowsLiveWriter/Rumsfe ... - AtticusTheBrave, on 07/22/2008, -0/+0Now I know what I've been doing wrong all this time. I haven't been breathing!
- bigbangbuddha, on 07/22/2008, -0/+0This was a fantastic article, it made some things very clear to me, I only have 2 points to make about it
1. When he said...... Wait, what was this article about? - avanor, on 07/22/2008, -0/+0With all the technology these days when I saw the title for this thread I was thinking:
RAM or my actual brain? - Sabretou, on 07/22/2008, -1/+1But will it run Crysis?
- gdigswhat, on 07/22/2008, -0/+0its worth a try..
- dbhalla, on 07/22/2008, -2/+2Note to self: create joke that will get diggs in comment, use in every article.
- newms32, on 07/22/2008, -0/+0Breathe! Take notes! Review! Don't get distracted! Make acronyms to remember things! Don't try to remember two hundred digits at once: try remembering smaller pieces of it!
Anybody who needs advice this obvious will fail. Quit now and get back to mowing my lawn you little bitch. And scrub that ivory real well. -
