- eurocrisp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+89perhaps waking up 20 minutes early is a conflict of interest in itself.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+80My issue has more to do with my desire to eat breakfast getting in the way of my desire to be on time to class.
- krazytom, on 10/12/2007, -4/+77better point... don't goto class... wake up at 1... then your lunch is your breakfast! and its socially acceptable to start drinking!
- mhanley, on 10/12/2007, -16/+53perhaps waking up 20 minutes earlier would eliminate that conflict of interest.
- sdrawkcaB, on 10/12/2007, -3/+32Getting up early isn't easy for everyone, no matter how much sleep a person gets, some just can't be up early.
- tehjrockz0rz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16YOu're pregnant
- SuperMoonMan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19I definitely have no trouble not feeling like eating breakfast, that's for sure.
- chrisrad, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15isn't the whole point of digg to talk about the story "and more" ----- i don't know... here?

Don't eat dinner. - Langford, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I just grab a banana on my way out, and eat while I go.
- chrisrad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I need more exciting cereal, I propose: "DangerPops!®"
.....screw "All Bran" :( - futility, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Oh god can we please not go back to digging the "wikihow of the day" everyday again!
- OUChevelleSS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Working out before you eat breakfast is a big no-no.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I can't understand how you americans don't die from heart diseases more often having eggs and bacon for breakfast.
Ugh! :-P - JuyLe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7At the morning i'm too lazy to read a list of 10 things to be healthy. I don't care to be healthy, I just hope the day will be finished soon so I can get back to bed !

Exactly i have never had a problem eating in the morning. now being 15 or 20 minutes late for work because i had to stop of at McDonald's first is a problem with me.
@mhanley
i tried waking 20 minutes or even an hour early i always end up doing extra thing that i normally wouldn't have instead of being on time. (ie going to Denny's as apposed to McDonald's ) - geodescent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I can't eat within the first few hours because of the naseau. :-(
Can anybody tell me why that is?
Nm, mentioned in article. Time to see the doctor! - Tweidle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I actually feel like crap if i DON'T eat breakfast. Its something my parents had me start doing when I was very little, it even carried though college and into my adult life.
- Evari, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4u know that any website with digg in the domain gets a letter from the digg lawyers dont you?

- fetus54, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Wake and bake anyone?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Im a trady (Roof-Tiler) and the reason i dont have breakfast is because i have phobia of havin to take a crap in one of those fricken disgusting portable toilets they leave at the job site, most dont even have toilet paper.
I have had breakfast before work in the past, but dont notice any difference at all in energy, or anything like that, so maybe i just dont need it. - totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm still stuck at the "waking up early enough to call any meal "breakfast" part.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Step 1 isn't something us insomniacs can just do...
- Silencer7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The best schedule I had was when i was jetlagged. I went to bed at 8:30 each night and woke up at 4AM...that gave me plenty of time in the morning to eat breakfast and get things done.
- sarusa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've recently started eating cereal every morning (instead of just coasting till noon). It's fast and easy and I've actually lost a little weight (too much more would be bad!). I snack less on bad crap and it's easy to ignore bagels and donuts and other bad stuff in the break room.
Also, let me tell you, grape nuts are like a bulldozer for your colon. - pardonmedoug, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3For me at least, eating a big breakfast isn't necessary. If I eat a lot I get tired soon after, and I get hungry for lunch sooner too. Better to have one piece of fruit or 1/2 cup of yogurt, get into work and be able to concentrate until 1:30 when the lunch rush is over.
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How about All Breasts?
- dreamlayers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've never had a problem with eating breakfast. However, once in a while I'm too busy to eat breakfast. Most of those times I find that I feel better in the morning than had I eaten breakfast.
- theotherlight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If I don't eat breakfast in the morning before I go to class, my stomach will growl excessively. It seriously takes maybe 2 minutes to eat a small bowl of cereal right when you wake up, and then just eat as you're getting ready.
I have to eat a bowl of cereal, some crackers and other little things, and a bagel right before I leave otherwise my stomach will echo through the lecture hall. - tbtyler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I get sick and can't function without food when I wake up in the mornings. Maybe I'm addicted?
- Boomer92, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Personally I set my alarm 20 minutes early and just lay in bed. Then I force myself into the shower. The shower is key, without the shower I would never make it to breakfast. Sometime when I am brushing my teeth in the shower I get hit with some hunger pangs. Then I haul myself down to get food as fast as possible. Step 1-Wake up early Step 2- Take a long shower and brush teeth. Step 3- Get some Grub!
- AimlessAbyss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I found this to be very helpful with lots of suggestions and tips. Usually on school days I'll have something small like a banana or some crackers/ granola bar, whatever. I never have a big breakfast because I'm NOT a morning person and food is the last thing on my mind. This article is offers lots of help for people like me, because I used to think having breakfast was overrated until I took a health class last year. Eating in the morning actually boosts your metabolism so it's good to have even something small for breakfast.
- vertinox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@"perhaps waking up 20 minutes earlier would eliminate that conflict of interest."
Eh. I just eat at work. Of course we have a cafeteria in the building. - typo180, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1could also be that you're just not used to it. Try eating smaller amounts - but yeah, it's probably a good idea to ask a doctor.
- 3RNC77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have the same issue. If I eat in the morning it makes me wanna puke!
- atb12688, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I never eat breakfast ever. If you put some food in front of me when i wake up, i will eat it but i will not actively eat breakfast because it is inconvenient and not worth the effort.
- wolfkeeper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Could be dehydration. You haven't drank anything overnight.
- blunto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this whole conversation is making me hungry, and i gotta go to bed now.

As for your "I have no ads" attempted dodge - you are outright begging for donations. "While enjoyment is always there, funds are not. Please support [spam site]" - brownb2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It may be the heat - although you may feel comfortable and cosy under a heavy duvet, it may be giving you heat sickness during the night that you may not notice whilst you are sleeping as it builds up gradually.
Here some solutions I've used that seem to work:
If you wake 1/2hr to an 1hr before your alarm usually, move off some blanket to cool (e.g. turn on side, remove blanket off your back) - more than you may usually kick off (i.e. sticking feet out of blanket reflex).
If you wake in the middle of the night, take a swig or two from a glass/bottle of water (don't drink too much or you'll be up again in a few hours) - this helps prevent dehydration compounding the problem.
And most importantly.... don't eat much an hour or two before you go to bed (i.e. a piece of toast will be fine, but a bowl of cereal with milk isn't), the weight of the heavy food will make you feel even more sick with the heat. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2WHAT?
- shirtninjay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, at 3:30 in the morning (I just woke up), I seriously thought that the following picture was a cup of yogurt with some plants stuck in it. Wth?

- krazykor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2My conflict of interest is whether or not to call my first meal breakfast or lunch. Sleeping in causes so many problems...
- killerwhaletank, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1bring a shake to class with you in a thermos... sip it on the bus, or if you walk, get that bit of exercise in first, and then drink the shake when you get to class.
boinggggg. - Decus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why so? It's the best time to burn fat.
- robshoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pretty good advice. I always hate the concept of breakfast but my dad makes me eat it anyway. Maybe now I'll be able to survive it...
- uneqee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That's how I stay thin.
