- sny1120, on 08/25/2008, -1/+72I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it. - Mark Twain
- qwkredfox, on 08/25/2008, -3/+28im not going to read it because i dont want to think about death today. i have panic attacks.
- arichard, on 08/25/2008, -2/+23Bad?
- cambob76, on 08/25/2008, -1/+20I got punched silly once and started to black out (never assume the guy you are punching has no friends at the party to which you only know half the people). After the first couple of punches, I was completely aware but felt nothing. I imagine a horrible death would be something like that... and then the spaghetti monster welcomes you to Space Reno on the planet Space Nevada.
- jamziz22, on 08/25/2008, -1/+18Excellent read right before bedtime!!!

- thecheatah, on 08/25/2008, -1/+13Well, its a unique, once in a lifetime experience.
- junkstuff1, on 08/25/2008, -1/+13Maybe by dying a gruesome death.
- FoxOrian, on 08/25/2008, -1/+11The problem with your comment is that after I read over your history, there could be a chance you're ACTUALLY serious...
Though I won't bury nor dig you just because your reasoning was actually somewhat amusing - fant0m, on 08/25/2008, -1/+11tampon.
- charliespopcan, on 08/25/2008, -1/+11And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, i don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? Theres no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.
- The Great Gig in the Sky - Whaines, on 08/25/2008, -1/+10You first.
- Drazzim12, on 08/25/2008, -1/+9Hope you wake up! Goodnight.
- ashwinmudigonda, on 08/25/2008, -2/+10Goddamit! I have always thought of this, but never expected New Scientist to write an article about it! I wish when it's time for me to go, they put me under general anesthesia, open me up and transfer all my fresh organs to people who need them. That way, I save lives and I die a painless death. I really don't see why this is not an option. At least, it should be the way prisoners should be executed.
- GeneValdorry, on 08/25/2008, -2/+9Thanks for the article. It motivates me to stop smoking.
- LeviTheSmith, on 08/25/2008, -1/+8Like something you will only do once in a life time
- sockpuppets, on 08/25/2008, -4/+11They left out the most gruesome of all... death by AOL dialup.
- Timmyftw, on 08/25/2008, -1/+8tampon
- chrislongridge, on 08/25/2008, -0/+7Sarcasm fail.
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -1/+8Oh but I meant in a way so living people would know about it.
- heyblue, on 08/25/2008, -2/+9obvious troll is obvious.
- chrisinsocalif, on 08/25/2008, -1/+7Not like I can ask the dead guy, only assume.
- riptor666, on 08/25/2008, -1/+7I'd say being melted in acid or boiling water would be the worst ways to go.
- Adam420, on 08/25/2008, -1/+7How can you throw up without a stomach attached?
- UNDERSTAR, on 08/25/2008, -1/+7It hurts, ALOT!
- leif77, on 08/25/2008, -1/+6You're a towel.
- Dundasbro, on 08/25/2008, -1/+6Better than living by AOL dialup.
- MalDON, on 08/25/2008, -1/+6One of my teachers once said "You will not live life to its fullest until you completely come to terms that you WILL die at some point." And I have to fully agree. People are just too afraid.
- wildfire, on 08/25/2008, -3/+8So do I and now that you just mentioned it...

- Sepeteus, on 08/25/2008, -1/+5I would select "Slow and painful" death in a suicide booth.
- MetalLizard, on 08/25/2008, -1/+5"Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome." - Isaac Asimov
- Ferago, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4Why the ***** do you guys watch beheading videos?
- JeffH, on 08/25/2008, -1/+5...
Honestly, did you just ask that? - TheNakedChef, on 08/25/2008, -1/+5I wonder what's worse, few of the deaths written in the article or death from cancer which doesn't get a mention.
- Epik, on 08/25/2008, -1/+5dehydration probably

Seriously. - s0rce7, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3I was a victim of a stabbing once. It was quite serious I lost 2/5ths of my blood. After the initial pain it is pretty scary and hard not to panic. I had to fight off my attacker some before he fled, had I not my wounds may have been much more severe and I might not be here typing this today. Eventually after thinking over some of my options I had to just lay down, luckily I had a couple people come to my aid to slow the bleeding. I was stabbed 3 times, twice in my leg, once in my arm. The stab wound to my arm hit an artery. I could of easily died in this situation had I not had any help, of course now from experiencing that I look back at things I could of done myself to help ensure my own survival. But to get to the point as I was laying there I began feeling very faint and began blacking out in the ambulance, my body was in shock. At that point I felt rather helpless and accepted my fate either way. So my answer is after the initial pain and possibly panic it's not that bad you go into shock and begin to lose consciousness once you're at that point it's really not that bad, almost peaceful.
- TheMachine1, on 08/25/2008, -1/+4Sounds like you heard that from observation that cats that fall moderate heights are often more likely to get major injuries than from large heights. Theory is they have more time to react and adjust their limbs.
- jdoo, on 08/25/2008, -1/+4There was an episode of He-Man where he fell down the bottomless pit in front of Castle Greyskull. He saved himself by eventually catching onto the wall and climbing out.
- NSoklofske, on 08/25/2008, -1/+4Well, that was depressing. Always nice to know how horrendous the end of your life is going to be.
- rdvon, on 08/25/2008, -1/+4You're a sick *****.
- TriSight, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3I do it because I'm a sick *****.. I don't know why they do :)
- BlackJacket, on 08/25/2008, -1/+3Yes, its not relevant anymore.
- TriSight, on 08/25/2008, -1/+3I saw a beheading video where as they are cutting, there is a loud wheezing sound. Someone told me it was the sound of the person screaming without their head.
Seems to me on on those types of beheadings where they cut from front to back, you don't really stop feeling it until you either pass out from the pain or your spinal cord is severed.
*shivers* - inactive, on 08/26/2008, -1/+3Did you die?
- HayString, on 08/25/2008, -6/+8Sounds like a case of vaginalitis.
