- EclipseGSX, on 10/12/2007, -4/+76Hemp "milk"? It should be hemp juice.
"There's no such thing as soy milk. It's soy juice. But they couldn't sell soy juice, so they called it soy milk. Because anytime you say soy juice, you actually...start to gag. Know how come I know there's no such thing as soy milk? Because there's no soy titty, is there?"

- pitfallharry, on 10/12/2007, -5/+42How do you smoke milk?

How is he gonna get some hemp milk from AOL about 7 years ago? - dankosaur, on 10/12/2007, -6/+34The same way you "feel as if" anything when it's (maybe) not true.
- herrshuster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28that was a very well informed, well-thought out statement
please continue - thejessman86, on 10/12/2007, -4/+29No; Dugg for the fact that hemp never should have been made illegal in the United States. It has many uses and is cheap. I'm a firm believer it was made illegal to grow simply so other crops would be more profitable - they knew they'd make more money off the other crops.
- swrostmore, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24"Sell dopeheads a legal product that makes them more thirsty so they buy even more of it"
Its called Pepsi... - TheBogie, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25Mike Gravel is the only dem with the sack to endorse this stuff. It's like he's smuggling beach balls in his pants, his balls are so big.
- rm999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15It is really sad that hemp was illegal in the USA for so long, a lot of people I know actually assumed there was something wrong with it because it was illegal. It really is a great crop - highly nutritious food, strong fiber for ropes/cloth, etc.
Whole Foods has hemp granola in the bulk foods section. I highly recommend it! - supdegrave, on 10/12/2007, -7/+22@Humptydank:
how about actually trying it instead of being a presumptive smart-ass. telling the truth about what you can imagine isn't really the truth now, is it?
i'm not vegan by any means, but i've tried hemp milk recently (yesterday and today, in fact, prior to seeing this article). the flavor is nice and rich. it's not very good in coffee like milk or soy milk, mainly because it separates from the coffee (which looks like curdling, but isn't). but this is more of an issue of visual appeal -- it still tastes fine if you stir it up periodically.
on its own, it has a barely noticeable grit, but an overall better mouth-feel than 2% milk (the only dairy product i have in the fridge at the moment). - frodsteamin2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Or you could just smoke weed, like that cali chronney.
- silverchrysalis, on 10/12/2007, -11/+24the same place where you learn to hit THE DAMNED CAPS LOCK key before typing!
- silverchrysalis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13the thing that is cool about this (despite the extremely mature comments about getting high off milk) is that if we can find more positive uses for hemp, maybe someday it will be legalized!
wait, who am i kidding...? never mind. - misterhardcore, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Doesn't Mike Gravel endorce this stuff?
- Humptydank, on 10/12/2007, -13/+21Okay, let me just tell the truth here. Although I'm not one, I have vegans in my life that I respect and love. But having experienced much of the horrifying substitute seed husks and bean drippings that they put in their mouths and still pronounce "delicious" and "just like X..." I can only imagine how utterly revolting this stuff must taste.
Oh wait, what I meant to say was: "Sure, I'd love to at least try it. Hmmm, wow, you can really taste the hemp. It's interesting -- not my thing exactly, but..." - almalax19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Omega Acid?? Man that ***** will get you high. I cant believe you have heard of it too.
Omega Fatty Acids? Yea thats what you meant to say. - overtoke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Each 8oz serving contains:
4 grams of Protein
700 mg Omega-3
2600 mg of Omega-6 with GLA
All 10 Essential Amino Acids
Essential Vitamins A*, B12*, D*, E, Riboflavin* and Folic Acid
Essential Minerals Magnesium, Potassium, Phosphorus, Iron and Zinc
46% of RDA of Calcium
Hemp seed by itself is 33% protein. - datastorageguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8http://www.eastendfood.coop/index.html
- vikingcoder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The store is located in Pittsburgh, PA; ~70 miles from Point Breeze.
http://www.eastendfoodcoop.com/location.html
A journalist getting a store location wrong does not invalidate the point of the article.
(edit... datastorageguy beat me to it) - Frozenpython, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12I had to digg you up cause I love the random "poop" comment here and there. I just makes sense!
- daborg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"Wasn't the U.S. Declaration of Independence written on hemp paper?"
No: "The Declaration of Independence is not written on hemp paper, but on parchment."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Declaration_of_Independence
However, DRAFTS of the Declaration WERE written on hemp paper. - quokkapox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Yes there is, I live a few blocks away from the store in Point Breeze, Pennsylvania (a neighborhood of Pittsburgh).
Oh, you're a troll. Nevermind. - DiggzDE, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It's because when people with little knowledge or education in things such as hemp, weed, or drugs control in general, hear a word that has been wrongly associated with a certain illegal substance, their little brains automatically assume it is all similar and thus must all have the same effect.
Rather stupid if you ask me. But then again, I am not a misinformed simpleton that follows everything that people say to me. It amazes me sometimes how idiotic people really are. - Mutton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Gotta have my phosphs.

- Phrag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Hmmm... Hemp milk and pot brownies. Possibly the best combo ever?
- ateoto, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Probably.

- Mutton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Do they use hemp milk to make string cheese?
- DarkDakota, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Alright, where the hell does pot come into this? It says right on the box 0.0% THC. it's all consumer grade hemp. So WTF with all the pot "jokes". Do you not know the difference?
- DiggzDE, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7You are trying to be funny? Because you just sound like a stupid jackass.
- 72doubledown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5mmm good with fruity pebbles

Apparently it's a co-op. - drmobutu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Hemp seed is also an excellent source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
- ptsd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i dont have a link to the story but a bunch of dairy farmers were feeding their cows hemp cause they believed it produced better milk
- Derrekito, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Wasn't the U.S. Declaration of Independence written on hemp paper? oh the irony.
- Moriya, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Sounds healthy, but I can't imagine my cookie crisp would taste very good with pressed hemp seeds in it.
- gethane, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6@ frozenpython
digg droppings? - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5So when's the coca milk coming to market? It's a helluva drink.
- Travisty2012, on 10/12/2007, -25/+28How do you "feel as if you're hallucinating" with out actually hallucinating?
- Van3ck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I go there quite often, but also have taken a liking to the Whole-Foods further down the road. The exact location the article mentions might not be correct, but the name is. That is no reason to bury the article.
Both stores carry unique items that you can't find at the other.
I have also had the "Hemp powder" that this Manitoba company makes... good stuff when sprinkled on cereal. Has a "nutty" taste, but very gritty. Very curious to try this new "milk".
Hemp is amazingly healthy stuff for people who can't/don't eat meat. - overtoke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4yes, and hemp does not contain trace mercury like an ever increasing number of fish
- overtoke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4people eat peanuts don't they? hemp seed tastes just as good (and is far more nutritional.)
- Higgins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Needs more riboflavin.
- inkyblue2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yes there is. i buy honey there. it's a nice place.
- bettaa, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10thinking about it gives me the munchies!
