well that's the problem right there. - fury420, on 11/01/2009, -0/+3if it was very high quality it almost certainly was NOT the official health canada authorized marijuana that patients buy direct from the govt through the program this article describes, unless things have changed drastically in the last year or two without anyone noticing & mentioning it.
The stuff produced by Prairie Plant Systems for the Govt would be considered well below average on the recreational cannabis market. For medical users the legal choice between growing their own & accepting something akin in potency to a mid grade outdoor seems unacceptable when Compassion Clubs offer much better products for similar prices all while being much more accessible to the patients. - georgetds, on 11/01/2009, -0/+3Because you thought wrong?

- xerexes1, on 11/01/2009, -0/+2Healthcare is funded by the Federal and Provincial governments. Prescriptions drugs, which includes medical marijuana, is not included. However, there is a subsidy, so Canadians should not have to go without medication or go into debt to pay for it.

The marijuana provided by Health Canada is poor quality. Last I heard it still comes pre-ground and tastes/smells like crap. There is no choice of strain, potency, preparation, etc... For a product with such variability in terms of active ingredients, as well as the medical conditions it is used for, it seems rather pointless to offer just the one option. Plus, its grown in an abandoned mine, so there have been concerns voiced about heavy metal contamination.
You are much, much better off dealing with a compassion club.
