- Takfam, on 05/21/2009, -3/+66Videos depicting gore and emotional trauma are just fine, as long as nobody shows their *****.
- merryalycen, on 05/21/2009, -0/+45In case anyone is interested in seeing the original video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRGgWBROuWs - Solkre, on 05/21/2009, -4/+46The point of this video is lost on me unless I can see the following...
1. Video of how she became pregnant.
2. Video of every similar act that did not make her pregnant with different angles and music in each. - doctechnical, on 05/21/2009, -5/+45Dibbs on the placenta!
- inactive, on 05/21/2009, -6/+42Maybe the UK government should make a video about what happens to you if you squander the tax payers money on buying yourself a second house, and a few horses.. and some expensive cars because you are a parliamentarian.. go on then.. I'm waiting.
- byoung2, on 05/21/2009, -4/+36Yeah, but how was babby formed?
- wafflesomd, on 05/21/2009, -0/+29If you are a teen and get pregnant, you will give birth on a football field with all your friends watching.
- buddamus, on 05/21/2009, -0/+29Not that shocking, just showing the bill that the kids gonna cost you for the next 18 years should be enough
- wafflesomd, on 05/21/2009, -6/+32Or they could educate them properly rather than try to scare kids.
- diggzoid, on 05/21/2009, -2/+24oh, I thought you meant the conception phase
- dman24752, on 05/21/2009, -0/+22Ew... So you're trying to say that teen pregnancy isn't like Juno?
- Shogun213, on 05/21/2009, -11/+32What a whore
- Hetman, on 05/21/2009, -3/+22Sex is so awesome you could show two teens being water borded for having sex, and teens would still do it. You cannot scare teens into not having sex. It is there natural instict to do it. All you can do is educate them so they can better deal with sex emotionally and physically.
- TwistyMcFister, on 05/21/2009, -2/+20less Blair Witch camera action would be nice?
- RumpleForeskin3, on 05/21/2009, -1/+18how girl get pragnent?
- kazersoza, on 05/21/2009, -1/+17Its like the old "Blood on The Highway" drivers Ed video except for those with a vajayjay
- yellowbuddy, on 05/21/2009, -1/+16Maybe I've been on 4chan too long, but how is this video "shocking" or "gory"? It just seems poorly acted to me.
- doctechnical, on 05/21/2009, -1/+16I'm certain that pointing out to teenagers the consequences of careless sex will certainly make them contain their urges.
On Mars. - phylaxer, on 05/21/2009, -1/+15How do I REECH these KEEDS??
- inactive, on 05/21/2009, -1/+14This could potentially backfire. If a PSA is too disturbing, people tend to shut the message out. Keeping the viewer's attention is good, but it's easy to overshoot.
- Avaseal, on 05/21/2009, -0/+12If anything her chances will go up. Now they know she puts out
- facespaz, on 05/21/2009, -0/+11"why is there a little man coming out of her butt"
rofl - nyxerebos, on 05/21/2009, -0/+11because these babbys cant fright back
- jabbajabba, on 05/21/2009, -6/+17Just take away the benefits system which pays the rent for their apartment, council tax, sky + subscription and cheap gold jewlery from argos.
I guarantee you will cut the numbers of teenage pregency by 90% after just one year. - schnikies79, on 05/21/2009, -0/+11This isn't to scare them out of having sex. It's to scare them into taking measures to prevent pregnancy.
- zeebo323, on 05/21/2009, -0/+11That won't work most teenagers don't understand the value of money.
- inactive, on 05/21/2009, -0/+11They need to do way instain mother> who kill thier babbys.
- maz2331, on 05/21/2009, -0/+10Huh?
- Wypie, on 05/21/2009, -0/+9A baby before the gang bang begins?
A first for everything... - inactive, on 05/21/2009, -1/+9What exactly is the point? Don't get pregnant? Don't give birth?
- vats, on 05/21/2009, -5/+13Good Initiative, Not sure how much effective it can be?
- frostbyt, on 05/21/2009, -8/+16FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP
- dark1587, on 05/21/2009, -1/+9After watching the video, all I've got to say... WTF? How in the hell is this supposed to prevent pregnancy?
- Hetman, on 05/21/2009, -0/+8Thats good. In the states it would be used as a way to preach abstinance.
- Jalgebra, on 05/21/2009, -2/+9play her off keyboard cat!
- aptanalogy, on 05/21/2009, -0/+7That's right, it's don't give birth....make as many of those little ***** as you want, but keep them inside, goddammit!
- yngtimmy, on 05/21/2009, -3/+10Its being criticized for being too graphic. Well you know what reality sucks sometimes.
- delrin500, on 05/21/2009, -0/+7I didn't find it shocking, I just thought it was just dumb. How about someone just attempt a little reality instead of these stupid PSAs that try to shock and scare people. It is like that PSA that shows a kid shoot himself after smoking a joint...
If people just talked to each other like they are not complete and total morons these kinds of things would be much more effective. Then again all of TV is geared for the lowest common denominator. - jabbajabba, on 05/21/2009, -3/+10To those whom keep digging me down I suspect you have no idea of the incentives on offer to young girls in poorer areas to get pregnant. I live in such an area and its known fact that a lot of girls go out of their way to get pregnant by a father whom they know will not stick around and then they can claim welfare which will set them up for a comfortable life;
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article52 ...
So effectively the state becomes the father and the family unit is broken down and children are raised without a father.
We keep hearing about "sex education to address the teenage pregnancy problem" (the UK has the largest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe)...There is one form of education which does not fail to teach people a very valuable lesson in life and that is consequences - protect and shield people from consequences and they will never address their dysfunctional behaviour. - DatVillain83, on 05/21/2009, -2/+8the only difference between this 'viral' video and another sex education videos is that she isn't in a hospital, so what's the point of this? like the students in her classes never noticed she was pregnant before, is this supposed to be embarrassing?
I think It would have been more graphic if she gave birth in an inner-city alleyway and was ready to toss her baby in the dumpster. now that's hard-knock! - aptanalogy, on 05/21/2009, -0/+6I made a techno remix of the one that our school made us watch.
- piieerrrree, on 05/21/2009, -0/+6I think it'd make the idea of pregnancy and labour terrifying for children. Way to go.
- inactive, on 05/21/2009, -1/+7I don't think this overshoots since it feels "authentic". People tend to dismiss the dramatizations that are overly dramatic, but this will likely strike a chord with the viewers since it targets the very fundamental desire of teenage girls to NOT be a spectacle in the center of a jeering crowd. The actual birth is secondary, the shame and humiliation this girl experiences strips away the glamor of having a baby or being pregnant. I think it may be fairly effective relative to the resources required of it.
- inactive, on 05/21/2009, -0/+5It's not about authenticity, it's about the fact that if the message is presented in too frightening a manner, it scares the viewer to the point where they shut out the message and ignore it. Speaking from a purely scientific perspective, being "scared straight" usually doesn't work. Of course, everyone has their anecdotal tales of being scared straight or knowing someone who was, or whatever, but it's just not borne out in the data.
- ciram, on 05/21/2009, -0/+5Anyone click the video?
"...although we're not going to show you here..."
Damn you msnbc, and this after having to watch a 30 second *super-extended* and *super-unfitting* diapers ad. What gives? - scecilio, on 05/21/2009, -0/+5The video of the childbirth I saw in high school had much more gore and was grosser that that PSA.
- PrettyGreen, on 05/21/2009, -1/+6it was on the news this mroing a mother in ar who had kill her three kids.
- AndrewMoyer, on 05/21/2009, -0/+5Was this a PSA about England having a prehistoric medical system?
"Is there a child doctor in the house? We need to get this pregnant lady out on the middle of a field, stat! Ladies and gentlemen, start your cell phones..." - Dan050, on 05/21/2009, -1/+6Yes. WTF were you dugg down?
Don't forget what it feels like to claim for 'cleaning out your moat'! - thcobbs, on 05/21/2009, -1/+6"if it were then no christian would ever kill someone."
Don't you mean no person would commit murder. Since you know... prison isn't exactly fun. -
