- snak3st, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12WHAT THE ***** IS JUICE?
I want grape drink. - JanusAmon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Stop spamming your blog, mroussell.
- ray901, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Wine is grape juice (just fermented) - silly Doctors
- bneima, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7People like you make blogs suck.
- theghoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5But the alchohol is good for you stomach and kills pesky germs. They also make some women look a hell of a lot better at last call. Advantage? Wine.
- UKMusicFan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Bad headline, misleading article (study was a preliminary one on pigs and not on real live humans). Oh, and it was part-funded by Welch's. It may well be that grape juice is as good, but this study does not prove it.

- neuropsychguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Red wine, in moderation, apparently is good for the heart (but there are still a number of studies that do not show that effect, so we can't definitively state it is good for the heart yet). We don't know if that is the alcohol or whatever else is in the wine.
- zardoz73, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Grape juice is AS good as wine for the heart."
There, fixed that for you. - NymphoChik, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3But what about all that sugar?
Seems like if you're an adult it would be a better idea to just drink some wine.
Great...now I want wine! - bdit1200, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Alcohol also makes ME look a lot better. ...and bullet-proof.
Here's to a long happy life! *clinky* - tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I thought the alcohol had benefits too (in small doses obviously)? I'm no scientist and have no idea what the reasons might be though, but that's what I thought. Anyone know?
- julos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can't "juice and dine" someone....
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5You just made me throw up a little in my mouth.
- oxigen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Now the only problem is actually finding natural grape juice, because 99% of the juices on grocery shelves are from concentrate.
- chenkersthecat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ugliest search engine ever and the compound largely of interest in red wine (Resveratrol) is a phytoalexin, not a protein.
- Screwy1138, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1mmmmm grape juice and vodka
- afruff23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Everybody's known this for years. Alcohol has no medical benefits whatsoever, yet people keep drinking it. I don't get why so many people lobby against tobacco, yet alcohol is relatively uncontroversial. This isn't news either. I've known a person that has been saying this for years. Science is much slower than everybody thinks.
- BabyWookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I need me some Jesus juice.
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's unbelievable how hard it is to find "juice" that really isn't just 10% juice with sugar/water filler.
- The_Dude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1As a worshiper of Dionysis, my grapes gotta be fermented. Juice is for babies.
- GunsGermsSteel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1To quote Larry David, "Grape Juice is a very underrated juice."
- mapkinase, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Subhan Allah!
- 4NDr01D, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3grape juice has way too much sugar in it
gross - sunburnt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Of course you have to weigh the presence of high-fructose corn syrup (cheap sweetener) in a most of the juices sold in American supermarkets which is a factor in diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

http://www.diabeteshealth.com/read,2004,4274.html
So, when you do buy juice make sure it is not sweetened with the high-fructose corn syrup. - daridave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I love both and this won't change my habits. It's about taste.
Grape juice? It's nice on a hot summer day, like when you come back from doing an activity -- refreshing.
Eating pasta? Filet Mignon? Wine, please...
Please making my own wine in-house for many years now, it's somehow more satisfying to drink something you made than some cheap store juice that is 50% fake. - davidadam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Worse is when you do find a bottle, it's unbelievably more expensive than everything else out there.
- mapkinase, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is a good thing, pal. Somebody might be "dining" you.
- JacksonEMG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This was like the first thing we learned in Health class. Obviously, kids want alcohol to have some health benefit so they can justify drinking it to adults (though they don't need to, for they will do it anyways). But the instructor said that grape juice will work as well.
- vinchu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2stop doing that you two, you didn't even read his article, who mentions interresting piece of information saying this story is not true. that is funny you give this guy some lessons.
Diggers, please read mroussell article and digg him up. does not deserve the digg down. - 0crabby0, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5So, does Jack Daniel's make grape juice?
- library.ninja, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2buzz kill
- jakatak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Gatorade has funded another study. You'll never guess what they found out!
- dvidguy08, on 03/08/2009, -0/+0Wine is good for you.
And making it yourself is good for your wallet.
http://www.growinggrapesandwinemaking.com/ - DaydreamerBooks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I"M SHOCKED!!! (rubs her eyes with a fist) So, maybe it isn't the "wine" after all but the lowly grape (sans alcohol) that's good for the ol' pump. That would make sense, don't you think? All the alcohol is going to do is destroy the liver, anyway Remember, the darker the grape, the higher the level of antioxidants!
Cheers! - cleansecolon, on 07/25/2008, -0/+0Interesting. I just read about wine being good for the heart.
- retardrus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does anyone know of an informational website that provides certain producers of grape juice that are more inclined to be actual fruit juice and not grape/water? Also, any wine connoisseurs out there that know exactly what the "better" wines out there are, that have the high polyphenol content?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I actually believe in mrousell. This report is a little fishy. Several other large real world studies done with wine, extracts and other alcoholic beverages in humans kinda contradict this report.
- thirtysixbelow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1That's the first thing I thought of when I read the title. um....duh?
- StripeyMagee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I have always said 'A bottle a day keeps the doctor away'
- afx1, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Who'd have thunk??
fermentation ftw! - kenvsryu, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Pop pom pomegranite juice as well.
- chenkersthecat, on 10/12/2007, -12/+0The only juice I like to drink is that which comes out of m'lady's vulva. Thanks but I'll stick to my Cabernet Sauvignon.
- mroussell, on 10/12/2007, -31/+2This article is peddling some serious misinformation. I just wrote about it on my blog
