- dreid1987, on 03/28/2009, -0/+7The glowing protein - GFP - was discovered and put to use in 1962, so this isn't exactly new. The Nobel Prize was awarded for the discovery last year. These sorts of uses of the protein are pretty standard in biology, but it's still pretty cool that these folks' work is getting some publicity.
