- nesstheking1, on 01/20/2009, -0/+7Well I guess that's what they get for trying to make Raw Chicken Flavored Peanut Butter.
- sillykalcifer, on 01/20/2009, -0/+6sweet right after i ate a 6 pack of those little round peanut butter austin sandwich crackers
- Lucas123, on 01/20/2009, -0/+6Who would have ever thought to put salmon in a snack. Great idea.
- TwwIX, on 01/20/2009, -0/+5Salmonella=Now i can finally ***** with ease.
- ricker2005, on 01/20/2009, -1/+6Lies!
- edrift101, on 01/20/2009, -0/+4I'm going to have to make some peanut butter sandwiches for the neighbors kids - can't be too careful with a new jar of peanut butter after all. ;)
- Darkaged, on 01/20/2009, -0/+4Could they pick a longer product title?
- Brian5475E, on 01/20/2009, -0/+4How the ***** do they miss all this product being bad?
- inactive, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3My gigantic jar of Skippy is safe (haven't gotten sick yet). I'm good to go.
- gametavern, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3when is my peanut butter considered safe?
- shadowspawn, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3I got 'em on southwest. I figured they were there to stop up the plumbing.
- Inferno52386, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3Jesus! First West Nile Virus, now this! I really shouldn't have eaten the box of them over the weekend...
- DickyT83, on 01/20/2009, -0/+2Well if half of it was eaten and you didn't acquire any disease, then it's probably safe to assume you can consume the rest..
- seltaeb4, on 01/21/2009, -0/+2They're GRRRRRREAT!!!!
Uh... sorry. Maybe not so much. - useraccess, on 01/20/2009, -0/+2Jar peanut butter is fine. It's only stuff made with the paste, like the crackers. Om nom nom to your hearts delight.
- mistermaster, on 01/20/2009, -0/+2So, new life appeared by itself in a package of peanut butter? That means life CAN evolve from non-life!
Peanut Butter, The Creationist's Nightmare! - shinythings, on 01/20/2009, -0/+2Must be from all those damned chickens running around the peanut butter factories!
- runrun401, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1but is your dog sick?
- maliath, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1We don't need bureaucratic FDA regulation! Green our vaccines too!
/sarcasm - odigity, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1Say what? My original post was dugg down, but both of my apologies for posting duplicates was dugg up to +5? I'm so confused.
- RiouG, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1... now what do I do with the half eaten peanut butter jar on my desk? .... :(
- inactive, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1This peanut butter thing has been known about for so long. Why the heck did it take this long for Kelloggs to figure out that they had a tainted product and for the FDA to tell consumers?
- bytor4232, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1I've only ever ate Jif, so I'm safe ;)
- ZeeZee2k, on 01/20/2009, -1/+2We need to stop importing peanut butter from China.....wait, what?
- Gee1004, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1wash your hands
- Harbinger67, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1It's Kellogg's, a company build around cereal and other products that are mass produced out of the cheapest ingredients possible; when you're fine with feeding your customers cardboard, you're probably not too big on quality control either.
- atobkindaurl, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1If you are concerned with food safety EDUCATE YOURSELF... Do you know about this legislation that will impact your food? HR 875
- Remmiz, on 01/20/2009, -5/+6Those things are gross anyways.
- shunban, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1but it's so tempting..must not take a bityugadwa-d..aw2!
- nabor605, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1sick....
- nmanguy, on 01/21/2009, -0/+1Is there any way to know whether the Austin's Crackers I bought at Costco the other day are safe? I can't find anything other than "Kellog recalled Austin's Crackers", a lot of good that is.
- morerunes, on 01/20/2009, -1/+2Wow, did digg die or something? Or is this really that uninteresting?
- balibones, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1That's not the only one. Other major brands that were recalled due to this recent peanut butter salmonella outbreak include: Reeseās Pieces, Little Debbie, and Keebler.

- odigity, on 01/20/2009, -5/+5The FDA is corrupt through and through. When I see an article like this, my first thought is "someone at Kellogg must have pissed off someone powerful", because otherwise the FDA would probably be busy covering it up instead of exposing it.
Sigh. Sometimes I think I'm cynical, but the alternative is living in fantasy land, and I'd rather take the red pill. - budboomer, on 01/20/2009, -1/+1Wait a minute. This isn't an Obama story??
- easyeye, on 02/03/2009, -0/+0US is on its way to compete with China - for tainted food.
- vidaliasweet, on 01/20/2009, -1/+1Eat less processed food, don't trust these greedy food giants to feed you anything safe or nutritious if it cuts into their profit margin.
- canchin, on 01/24/2009, -0/+0In support!
But one thing I must mention...if it has to be made by a machine in a factory and is untouched by human hands...it isn't "food."
This is the major problem, not the original product. Machines cannot make food, they can only take garbage and turn out more garbage. The safest thing to do before you put anything into our body is ask yourself one simple question: "Is this a food or is it just a chemical concoction?"
It reminds me of the more accurate prayer from the cultists fairytale book:
"Give us this day our daily acesulfame potassium, ammonium sulfate, ammonium phosphate, ascorbic acid, aspartame, azodicarbonamide, BHA, BHT, C12H22O11, calcium carbonate, calcium propionate, calcium sulfate, calcium silicate, calcium sorbate, citric acid, EDTA, ferrous sulfate, folate, fructose, glucose, high fructose corn syrup, iron ammonium citrate, L-cysteine, L-tryptophan, L-lysine, L-leucine, L-methionine, mannitol, monocalcium phosphate, neotame, niacin, niacinamide, potassium iodide, potassium sorbate, riboflavin, saccharin, silicon dioxide, sodium benzoate, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrite, sorbitol, sucralose, thiamine hydrochloride; in granted by government for use amounts, and wave a picture of a sheaf of wheat over the the mixture."
It was recently announced that the obese in America now outnumber the overweight...go figure, fat is now the new thin.
Caveat Emptor (Let the buyer beware) is the only safe way to deal with what you put into your body, and if you are going to shove garbage down the ol' bung hole, and you die, it's your own damn fault.
- evanman69, on 01/21/2009, -0/+0Who's been sticking there dick in the peanut butter?
- mdbsat, on 01/20/2009, -9/+0Peanut butter is kinda gross anyway. I am not saying I am happy that people are getting sick just that I think peanut butter is gross.
I like escargot.

What is Digg?
