- Risingashes, on 08/14/2008, -4/+41Side effects may include: digging articles from 2003.
- BorsKaegel, on 08/13/2008, -0/+19Now I want to see this in of those cheesy prescription commercials, just to hear the side effects.
- DefaultGen, on 08/15/2008, -0/+17I believed it wholeheartedly until that glance at the onion logo.
- Smokeydabear, on 08/15/2008, -0/+10I bet to differ (holding up index finger).
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -1/+10But will it cure female hysteria ?
- ridiggulous, on 08/15/2008, -0/+8As a recovering placebo addict I find this to be an outrage. Placebo addiction is a silent epidemic that destroys lives.
Noone knows the true number of placebo overdoses and the full extent of placebo addiction may never really be known. - Shoebox639, on 08/15/2008, -1/+9We are all gonna die from Dihydrogen Monoxide!!!
- pedo, on 08/15/2008, -0/+8also known as homeopathy
- YodaJones, on 08/13/2008, -1/+8Wow, this placebo sure cured my gonorrhea.
- WiseWeasel, on 08/14/2008, -2/+9Fine, here's a prescription for two month's supply of stopbuggingmenol, to be taken twice a day with meals; now leave me alone!
- ddawggin, on 08/14/2008, -1/+8Side effects include hypochondria...
- kayfouroh, on 08/15/2008, -0/+7Nothing can or will cure female hysteria.
- ebbv, on 08/15/2008, -1/+8
It's already on the market, it's called Homeopathic "Medicine". - faceless323, on 08/15/2008, -0/+7Side Effects are: Normal breathing, elevated awareness, and loose stool.
- EricAnderton, on 08/15/2008, -0/+6Ask your doctor if Placebin is right for you.

- Detry, on 08/15/2008, -1/+6I'm allergic to placebo's
- cvesper, on 08/14/2008, -0/+5Snake oil! Get your snake oil!
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -0/+5What did they give to the control group when testing it?
- gregcotten, on 08/15/2008, -0/+5damn it me too

- santaliqueur, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3Placebo's what? Don't leave me hangin!
- EricAnderton, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3As long as you don't count "pregnancy" as a side effect. ;)
- wexmajor, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3Who gives a ***** when the article was written? I thought it was funny. Bury it and go away. I ***** hate XKCD diggs but you don't see me in their comment section being an ***** whenever I see one. Usually...
- santaliqueur, on 08/15/2008, -1/+4Cracked? You serious?
- FormerEnigma, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2The Onion is late. There already exists a *genuine* placebo pill. It is called Cebocap.
http://patients.about.com/b/2008/01/04/placebo-pre ... - jun2san, on 08/15/2008, -6/+8I placebo what you did there.
- Valkarie70, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2Why would you ever want to cure it? Treatment man, treatment...
- brundlefly76, on 08/15/2008, -1/+3this would be a great idea, except that HMOs would immediately insist that the placebo be the first medication prescribed for anything.
- bipolarruledout, on 08/16/2008, -0/+2Prescott Pharmaceuticals just upgraded to "strong buy."
- flashback99, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2for the fifth time, this is not 4chan.
- l034me, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2*Warning* May cause babies.
- purzzzell, on 08/15/2008, -1/+2Another way off-target comment. Please recruit a couple people on Digg to use the bury button.
- inactive, on 08/16/2008, -0/+1Digg cured my cancer and alzheimers...
All in one day!! - bsmellyfoot, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1i think this could actually be a good idea...obviously there are ethical issues (charging people for drugs that actually aren't drugs, etc) but i think a lot of people with pain or illness caused by psychological factors could see dramatic improvement if they were given placebos but thought they were receiving real drugs. BUT i definitely dont advocate replacing people's current drug treatments with placebos.
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1***** load the current page till image of hot girl appears .
- SnowBladerX, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1Works on herpes too.
- brewer, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1that's not a girl, that's a phone.
- EmperorAwesome, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1The what? Am I the only one who's not interested in masturbating to blank white space?
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -1/+2"It's unfair to the American people to withhold a drug so many of them desperately think they need."
That last sentense could be said about nearly every real drug on the market. - neowolfwitch, on 08/15/2008, -2/+3How does a 5-year old Onion article end up on Digg's front page?
Someone should be taking Placebo instead of Crack. - hakz, on 08/15/2008, -1/+2crap, I was going to comment and ask how this was even going to work, but then I read it was the onion.
- CMiYC, on 08/15/2008, -1/+2I think the addiction is all in your mind.
- skitle007, on 08/15/2008, -1/+1***** You! Two of my friends died taking Placebos!
- chevychasened, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0Is that a placebo in your pocket or are you happy to see me?
- johndudesf, on 05/16/2009, -0/+0Your not the only one, the onion is a waste of atoms. My parakeets do like it on the bottom of their cage I must admit!
- heynoop, on 08/16/2008, -1/+1so... we should hate The Onion because you're too retarded to tell when a headline is serious or when it's satire?
