- JonCaker, on 08/19/2008, -3/+143WAIT, so youre saying drinking orange juice will cancel out my herpes medication??!!
Because its been a week since my last breakout, thank you Redxon! - syntheticfth, on 08/20/2008, -0/+123No matter how many times you say that I'm not falling for it Michael Jackson!
- synystar, on 08/20/2008, -4/+98"It is thought the drinks stop drugs from entering the bloodstream and getting to work in the body - possibly rendering them useless."
I think that it's possible that this information is useless. - temporaryescape, on 08/20/2008, -2/+93Drinking orange juice makes certain illegal drugs ridiculously better, take Ecstacy or shrooms for example.
I founded my own religious views while on OJ + E. Amen. - inactive, on 08/19/2008, -2/+67Does wine do the same thing? It's a fruit juice.
- luet, on 08/20/2008, -4/+58I'm so high right now.
- ChuyMX, on 08/20/2008, -3/+54"***** what the ***** is juice!! i want some grape drank"
- drunkenoaf, on 08/20/2008, -3/+53Argh! Poor quality journalism in the UK strikes again!
1. This isn't news-- food, drink, other drugs alter the amount of the drug you're observing in the body. Grapefruit juice is the example give time and again in Pharmacology lectures. I learned about it in the early 90's.
2. Read the little piece of paper in the package that the drugs come in. Often drugs have a range of doses where they are safe and work well, and grapefruit juice reducing (or increasing [yes, really]) the amount there won't affect the drug's effectveness. That package insert that you throw away will tell you if that's not the case.
3. Everything you take into your body that affects its function can be viewed as a drug. Water. Chocolate. Aspirin. Grapefruit juice. Drugs have the potential to interact with each other. Educate yourself! - jamwil87, on 08/20/2008, -2/+49I'm going to go smoke a joint and drink my roommates orange juice.
Will report back in 20 minutes. - jamwil87, on 08/20/2008, -3/+48Meh.
- kwasmosis, on 08/19/2008, -12/+57Wow, this is really important information. I can't believe this research wasn't found sooner.
- zulfy26, on 08/20/2008, -4/+48That was actually kind of clever.
Unlike this comment. - jamwil87, on 08/20/2008, -3/+46Oh ***** I forgot about the Orange Juice.
- skillzdan, on 08/20/2008, -1/+42I swear I saw "make common drug tests almost useless."
- jamwil87, on 08/20/2008, -3/+42K the OJ was expired so I got pink grapefruit.
Grapefruit ≈ Orange - jamwil87, on 08/20/2008, -3/+41ONe sec I'll go get it.
- Protoss, on 08/20/2008, -1/+39Already bought a lot of orange juice didn't you?
- foxxtrot23, on 08/20/2008, -3/+39ಠ_ಠ
- KielKilla, on 08/20/2008, -1/+35He's not kidding. He gave me herpes.
- KielKilla, on 08/20/2008, -1/+32@jamwil87
ITS 2 MINUTES TO GO MAN. WHERE ARE YOU? - CJ117, on 08/20/2008, -2/+30Wait, I thought Orange Juice was supposed to make your high even better
- Dested, on 08/20/2008, -0/+27Whenever you take any kind of party drug (read: ecstasy lsd shrooms) they tell you to take the vitamin C by the barrelful. I wonder why the difference.
- ahoy, on 08/20/2008, -0/+25while trying to purchase it, it made for the most awkward encounter with a gas station attendant ever
- Pronation, on 08/20/2008, -1/+25Yeah, but what about LSD?
- mikedub1219, on 08/20/2008, -2/+23***** you, two of my friends......never mind
- U2groupie, on 08/20/2008, -2/+22Girls, don't combine antibiotics and birth-control pills. The birth-control gets cancelled out by the antibiotics. One good ear-infection and I became a mom!!

۔ۃ_۔ۃ - mCanada, on 08/20/2008, -0/+18DON'T DRINK ORANGE JUICE!
- newms32, on 08/20/2008, -0/+18Different drugs are metabolized in different ways. Drugs that are metabolized by the CYP3A4 enzyme will have their breakdown inhibited by grapefruit juice and the drug will reach a higher concentration in the bloodstream.
The vitamin C + ecstasy thing is completely different, people do that to take in antioxidants. It's thought that this reduces the cellular stress in the brain caused by ecstasy, reducing the amount of damage that it causes. - veggiemoore, on 08/20/2008, -0/+17I love you a little bit.
- normalkid0615, on 08/20/2008, -0/+17You aren't drinking it hard enough!!!
- Dested, on 08/20/2008, -0/+16Dangerously fun
- JoaoPe, on 08/20/2008, -0/+16If you knew it why don't you say it sooner?
- OMnicient, on 08/20/2008, -2/+17I'm just trying to figure out what kind of idiots think LSD is a "party drug".
I guess the blotter is out in pediatric-strength now... - NomortaL1, on 08/20/2008, -1/+16no, gas
- temporaryescape, on 08/20/2008, -1/+16The strange part is, everything I thought of made perfect sense the next day. I just hadn't thought of certain things before, it's as if my mind had opened previously locked doors. Oh, and ecstacy doesn't make you hallucinate at all ;)
- wazzledoozle2, on 08/20/2008, -0/+15Your lack of grammar is terrifying.
- Pronation, on 08/20/2008, -0/+14Well, *****.
- OMnicient, on 08/20/2008, -2/+15If you were capable of reasoning, you certainly wouldn't find ANYTHING religious
- kleash, on 08/20/2008, -1/+14But it didn't say anything about eating an orange?
- jb0nd38372, on 08/20/2008, -2/+15My god he must have died, it's been over 9 hours now and no word yet.
- SilverBlade2k, on 08/20/2008, -0/+13So are they going to start labeling fruit as 'poisons' now??
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -16/+28Look, here's a slut drinking orange juice.
- Ellipsys, on 08/20/2008, -1/+13No, this information is correct. Do you ever read the prescribing information for pharmaceuticals you take? Some of them say not to take with grapefruit, milk, antacids etc... There are real, scientific reasons for this. Look up Cytochrome P-450, for a common one.
- Natnie, on 08/20/2008, -0/+12Maybe he's taking drugs for his learning disability?
- DeadFox1, on 08/20/2008, -1/+12Thankyou. We are actually doing a study here using Grapefruit juice to ENHANCE the therapeutic effect of Chemotherapy drugs. GF inhibits the enzyme pathway CYP3A4 that metabolizes certain drugs such as immunosuppressants thereby increasing its therapeutic effect because it isn't eliminated as quickly from your body. In essence- you can take half the dose of a drug (saving hundreds of dollars/pounds) and get the same effect. Drug company's are likely against this because it will reduce the money they will make off their patented compounds.
- mwhatley, on 08/20/2008, -0/+10I friggin' love orange juice, so I'll roll the dice here.
- rupertmorris, on 08/20/2008, -1/+11This applies to antidepressants too.
Also, LSD, believe it or not. - sapphire9488, on 08/20/2008, -0/+10I take Adderall and the labels have always said not to drink anything high in vitamin C close to taking it, because it may not work as well. I thought it was bullsh*t and took my dose with OJ one morning- They weren't exaggerating, I felt much different that morning than normal, and my mind seemed to be clouded until it was time for my next dose.
